They could use LED signs so that the speed limits only applies when there is assistance coming into the track. For it being a racetrack it would be more effective and also safer, because as you mentioned there will not be people with speeding cameras there...
this isnt a racetrack. its technically a public toll road.
There are lights now and LED lights are beibg added right now :)
@@beatles42ohgg94It still is a race track though.
@@Maenfy not when its not being used as a racetrack.
if the same cant be applied to all of the other public roads used as race tracks occasionally than it shouldnt be applied here.
just timing your lap can get you banned. so its not very racetrack like.
@@beatles42ohgg94 Well Silverstone remains a race track for me even if there is no race there at the moment, what else would it be? I agree the Nürburgring is also a toll road but that doesn't mean it isn't a race track anymore.
This perspective really helps to appreciate the elevation changes. I've only driven the Nürburgring in games, and it doesn't adequately portray how dramatic the change actually is. The advice for Ex-Mühle is also appreciated, no idea how many times that corner has caught me out when pushing hard.
I played in vr on gt7 yesterday and you really see how much elevation changes the track has.
Breidscheid is particularly impressive the first time, it really feels like a wall. Hopefully you can experience it for real soon :)
@@metasaurus3233 I think the physical stresses are overlooked. As a former rider/racer/driver input from your body is important.
i literally cant agree more w what u saying🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Absolutely. The drop off at Kallenhard is very impressive the first (few!) times irl.
The beauty shots inbetween make it a pleasure to watch 👌🏻
The drone shot of the corner really shows the difference between the in car camera shots and what the corner actually looks like, it's so much different than I expected. This is a great series.
seriously. ive learned so much more from this series than my excursions on google earth.
Yesss, speedlimits are there for a good reason. It's not just sense and sensibility. We all want to enjoy the track. Let's take care of each other and have fun...
This was actually really, really cool this was the first Nordschleife track walk I've seen and loved nerding out on all your knowledge and experience, more please! Thanks.
Poor guys, must have used all their storage hardware for this track walk 😆 Loving the video, the format, the intros! Hope you are enjoying your vacation!
It definitely was a lot!
Loving the track walks... really gives us a view we hardly ever see... and an appreciation of some points, like how steep it is in places.
Thank you very much for taking the time to do this series again.
Cheers
Great video! it is always exciting to tour the ring's corners by leg - you get a different perspective to it
Thanks Micha
Thanks for the update and information 👍.
We appreciate it 🙏
I called my insurance company a while ago, fully insured car... A younger dude said "Yes, we will cover any damage as it is a toll road". Something tells me, he reaaallllyyyy doesn't even have a clue what the Nordschleife is :D
Better get that in writing
a few weeks ago i was walking on the track from Breidscheid to Karussel in the Snow :-) thank you for another nice Video !
This video, along with your others, but especially this one, with the emergency entry point, should be mandatory viewing before being allowed to drive on the track. Great stuff, thanks.
I'm so glad you have done these videos. I will be learning from them before I drive over from the UK later this year.
Thank you for sharing your obvious love for the track.
Great video! like always
Yeah man. More track walks. Very nice. Still enjoying. ✌
One thing they could do at the exit point is add a blinking light that could indicate an emergency vehicle in the way. In the US they have a system to let ambulances push a button and change the traffic lights so they can get through better. A simple RF transmitter on track vehicles would make the flashing signal operate.
Thanks a lot for all the explaination, as a new driver that will be helpful for my next trip to the track
loved the intro with lovely b-rolls....starting to look quite professional misha ;o]
still to watch the whole walk series, watched only one episode but was very cool
Really enjoy this series, thanks Misha!
8.6.-12.6. we will be there. Don´t know yet if with Type R FK8 or with grandpa Civic EE9. Can´t wait! :D Thanks for this walk videos Misha, are really helpfull for people which are not so familiar with the track.
These section break downs are awesome!!!!!!!!!!! Reminds me of the bmw driver trainings!!!!!! Awesome
you are so good at this Misha!
Very interesting video! Thanks for the "tour"
Awesome camera work. Love the dron shots :)
From only watching events / your videos on TV , Amazed at the amount of camber and elevation changes. Certainly need to visit and experience it first hand.
👍I could certainly see the benefits of aero on the downhill sections.
I would love to watch you cycle the entire lenght of the track sometime in the future
Porsche bought the Croatian e-bike company GreyP. 🤞
Rad am Ring or Radtreff am Ring. It‘s really great to cycle. Will do it again this year.
@@loonytoon8836 cycling is great! It would be great if Porsche rents the ring out a day and has a 6 race with all equal GreyP bikes.
The track is too dangerous & vast for MotoGP and live spectators, but I’m sure that it’s thrilling to ride, but I’d just be a slowpoke since I’m old.😁
Excellent
I hear again on your video bird singing - Great Tit (Parus Major) - they are very friendly and if you start mimic their voice or just play any recoreded song of them from YT you will get their attention ;) The Nature around track is stunning, and you can make a bird friends with time.
since 2018 i watch always the track walks from you and the prep videos and more or less the track or race etiquette videos and most of the other videos and iam still planning to visit you and the team apex XD and to drive the green hell
I've been in Germany for 3.5 years now. I finally have a car worth bringing to the Nurburgring, my S2000. I hope to take it once or twice before I leave back to the US in May. Love your videos man
Got a few of us coming over at the end of July. Hopefully bump into you
Well, that's not too bad, I thought they nerfed it again as they did a couple decades (ish) ago on those two straights. I'll bet Christian Von Koenigsegg still isn't happy about that one. But warnings are good in that section. One of these days I still hope to make it out there from America since it's always been a dream of mine. Till then I'll keep watching you and my beloved Win/Fails.
How about Nordschleife "on foot" lap record?
Not by me🤣
@@mgcharoudin Oh... Come on! Nobody else is going to try it until the track is closed
@@mgcharoudin 👍🤣
5th video before the middle? Woo hoo, we are getting a full season! Yes!
Germany reminds me a lot of Canada. I race this track in iRacing... They did a great job scanning this track. You get a good idea about the elevation changes etc.
love it as soon as i hear the intro
Good video
This track should be open for road-bikers once or two a month. With so many ups and downs, it would be very cool to make it!
There is actually a yearly event for roadbiking, it's called "Rad am Ring"
@@legendarywoIf Wow. Great to hear. 👌 I'll google for it and maybe manage to drop by. (Eastern neighbor)
Moin Misha!
If I’d want to drive tourist laps, which insurance should I choose that covers me for this “public toll road” (technically)?
Personally I think they should build a warning light/system on the downhill point from Wehrseifen to Breidscheid to let drivers know a vehicle is exiting for that little extra warning
I've only raced Nordschleife in Gran Turismo games. In GT7 it is pretty scary to race but it is fascinating to see it in real life. Real is even scarier looking! This walk around really gives the elevation perspective that you don't see in the games. Thank you.
Most difference between Games and Reality is the Elevation. You dont see it, dont feel it, dont realise it is there.
In Realitiy the Elevation is Mind Blowing.
Danke dir, das sind für mich (Fun SIM Racing) sehr wichtige infos, habe mich schon das ein oder andere mal gewundert, wieso manche Autos einfach ausbrechen. :D
would love to see you make a whole walkthrough of the ring and give us all tips
Go back to 70s views but keep the safety of 2023 good combination 😍
Wow 👌
It would be great if you could add the optimal dry and wet lines on that drone shots. Nice vids btw
Maybe another time :)
I think it depends too much on the specific setup of the car, but there are general guidelines in terms of maintaining momentum. 👍
Wait… you can walk on the track even if it’s technically closed?
9:35🤣👍
For what i've understand, Nordschleife is considered as an "Autobahn" in Rheinland law book. That's why you have to keep your right lane if you are slower, and why most of regular insurance doesn't work there (even track-related insurance)
Thanks for sharing 👍 😊
I'm wondering how many years will pass by for people to understand why it's so dangerous to paint 🎨 on a track surface???!! And if they realise how many injuries 😕 this can do??!!
Tbh, I thought that it would be some kind of "Noise-reduction" reason but a entry to the track makes a whole much more sense :b
Dat is een goede fitheidtest, bij Breidscheid omhoog naar Ex-Mühle.
Danke!
Thank you so much!
I'm from Toronto Canada but my dream is to ride around the Nürburgring. I can't wait to go there one day
Canada? I am from Germany, im pretty sure in Canada are enough lonley Monatain Roads.
I bet there are more fun driving alone on a cool Mountain Road than with 200 Cars on the Nordschleife.
It makes no Fun because it is like driving in the Rush Hour. Because today came sooooo much People to the Nordschleife.
Great explanation and great safety features, the only thing I don't get is , why don't they use flashing yellow lights ? Whenever one of the ambulances enters the track ?
Damn i hope the ground stays where it is now that they removed a lot of trees... could be a problem next time Eifel weather hits.
The darker side if Misha. Good stuff
❤👍
It's not the slowest at 80kmph , at all , but it is if you don't want to be in the crash barrier
I hate Wehrseifen. The one corner that I almost crashed into. I was going into it too fast.
Hello misha hope you are doing well? fantastic video as all ways if it was your First time would you recommend a taxi lap or go out with you?
Tristan
Both options are great, taxi or self driving
@@mgcharoudin
Hi! If I were to drive the tourist laps myself, how do I get insured? Unfortunately my insurance sees this “public toll road” as a racetrack, so I’m still trying to find out how to get insurance in order to drive here legally. Thanks for your help!
That sign means that if something happens at a speed higher than the stated speed, in this case 90 km/h, you are automatically guilty in court! Simple as that.. ;-)
5:42 beautiful image.
Interesting graffiti
wall of champions ,sponsored by OOOO . Suggestion : Why they don't put a yellow light or yellow lights on the signs on that critical spot when emergency vehicles will/are using it ?
Germany in a nutshell.. speedlimit on a racetrack and none on the Autobahn... yep
i know that'll probably never happen but would be interesting to drive the track in reverse
Does the track graffiti affect grip?? 😅
Not really
I as a motorbike rider, I’d be aware of my contact patches in the rain. Traffic paint, steel plates, potholes, gravel run off, manhole covers and aquaplaning are terrifying.
I always felt like an idiot obeying those limits on the Ring with everyone storming past me but idk, its kinda a habit from the real world driving, where I’ll also slow down if I see the “50” or “30” sign..
you forgot the comparison shots :(
Adrian did 🤣
That concrete wall needs NASCAR Safer barrier
dont worry Misha, Dacia Logan will not break these track limits for sure LOL
a dable corner ? xD
A qestion to people with specific knolage.
Is ther a track day on Nurburing Nordschleife when ordinary people can pay to drice ther proyect racing cars which are inposible to registrate for normal road use , alsow they are not inshured and hawe parts on them whic are not homologized , no TUV... ?
That is one thing that i don't know about Nordschleife.
Is this why manufacturers don’t run fast laps there anymore due to speed limits
😂😂😂🤦🏼♂️🤦🏼♂️🤦🏼♂️😂😂😂
Hey, quick question! Friends tell me it's not allowed to have a tow ring installed on the car when driving TF. Is this true? It doesn't extend past the bumper.
A hard one - yes! A strap is ok.
@@mgcharoudin thanks!
Already the fifth video? but look on the bright side, when they are done they will be healthier after the walks
hahahaha 😅
What happened to Part 4? My apologies if this was already talked about.
It's set on an automated "scheduled" release for today at 1700 CET. Then the video becomes private until release.
@@mgcharoudin take a break & enjoy your vacation & do food pictures!
I love the graffiti. What's the official stance on it? Do they turn a blind eye in the name of letting people express themselves or is it just not worth cleaning away.
Nord needs a Banksy installation. Maybe some rats holding slow down signs lol
what about the concrete wall at T13? ;-)
Very good one! But that's mostly only relevant in full layout
Indeed! Very relevant in full layout or with RWD cars going to wide after the sharp right hander before T13, ending on the grass and to much power = oversteer = „kissing“ the concrete wall T13 🙈🤪🤣🙈
Forza Horizon gamers: Only one concrete wall???? Then how do I cheat maintaining my speed (and lack of skills)?
having not watched the video just yet. that's a misconception. The Nordschleife isn't a race track, it's a private toll road that happens to host races.
I like channel you,all car the test
Gg
They should narrow the road and put speedbumps no one is slowing down to 50kmh. Its dangerous you drive 50kmh everyone else full speed🥵
Speedbump might not be the best idea for lower cars.
speedbumps 😂
Speedbumps on a racetrack lmao
It’s a fucking race track what the fuck. If you want safety and road laws don’t race
The track is being destroyed
Foodshot 0/10
See told ya they will ruin it
You know that they were there since 1927?
