Love Karen's collection. Sorry that she lost her first collection but she has done an amazing job rebuilding it. I have some of the outfits you said you would like to have one day, the one the alludes me is the career Girl, always out of my price range.

Where to begin???!!!!!! This has been my favorite video yet Sue!!! Thank you for sharing Karen's story!! My heart goes out to her for having her first collection so ruthlessly taken from her. I have had something simular happen to me. It brings tears to my eyes and so much sympathy for Karen.
But...never...never...never... have I seen someone rise like a Phoenix from the Ashes like this lady!!! Oh, Karen...you go girl!!! I can't say that I have seen such a more complete and oh-so personal collection of Barbies!!!! 59 to 75 are my own personnel loves, too.....and some of those outfits.....well, I have not seen since I was little.
I am just in awe of Karen's collection and feel pride for her all the way through the internet.
I can tell, just by seeing her collection, that she accomplished it slowly and personally with much though and knowledge of what she was doing!! It was just so exhilarating to see it all. I just can't find enough words to say how fantastic all of it really is!!!

I was so happy to share her story, dolls really do help you over come some of the problems in life. But how she managed to loose everything,, except that first bubble cut, and grow such a wonderful collection truly is amazing. Yay Thanks so much Mod Girl for your wonderful comment!!!

True Ev, Focusing on dolls takes your mind of of troubles, I guess because it takes you back to when you were a kid and had nothing to worry about.

Sue, I agree with you about Barbie looking older than 16. When I was little, I thought Barbie was the mother of Tutti and Skipper and Francie! I thought Tutti was about 5-6 years old. I thought Skipper was 11-13 years old. And I thought Francie was 16-18 years old. Whenever we played with our Barbies, our Jamie doll was always the designated mom! 😊

How sweet! Karen you have such an amazing collection and your story is so inspiring! Dolls really can bring us joy during live's most difficult times and even connect us with wonderful others. I struggle with severe OCD so trust me I know mental health is very important. I'm so glad you're doing better again and enjoying doll collecting once again! This is such a wonderful video. And I would really love to see more like it!

I started collecting vintage barbies when I seen one at a thrift store for auction someone out bid me, I was admiring the barbie she was behind glass and this lady randomly asked if I liked buying barbies I said I wanted that one but someone out bid me then she said I have one she turned out to be a bubble cut so yes I bout my first vintage barbie and she was a bubble cut, the second one I bought was two whole dollar at the swapmeet she turned out to be a hair fair mod barbie I dint know she was that I got her because she looks like jeanie from bewitched. then Ken was my third doll n my collection grew. I got my brother who collects r2d2s droids I got him into collecting barbies hahaha.

Well I started selling on Ebay about 20 years ago. I came across a vintage doll (Fashion Queen) at a flea market, some old memories of that doll returned, that I had forgotten about. I couldn't sell her. I remembered commercial for the doll. I also remember the few I had as a child. I was hooked. I started to actively look for old dolls. Not sure how many I have, I need to do a count. LOL
Hey sue just finished watching. Karen's collection is amazing. I hope to one day have an awesome big collection like hers. I'm going to email you my story to add to the collection I submitted with a photo and a few new pics of my new dolls I just got to add to the collection lol. I'll try to have it sent all to you today.

If it's not too late for me to send you photos and videos of my collection I would love to share my story with you, I also lost my first collection to a 100 year old flood back in 2013, was forced to sell my second collection after my previous husband passed away of cancer in my arms in 2019, as a last ditch effort to save my house which unfortunately didn't happen and now my latest collection is better than I ever expected, Karen your collection and story is amazing, you have brought a smile upon my face while my husband and I are recovering from a hate crime that has rendered us unable to fix up my collection, you have now added a few other dolls that I hadn't considered adding to my collection
