    I did under drive pulleys on a 95 GT and didn’t torque anything, I tightened it with a ratchet…It never loosened up, ran it for several years…

      someone did that on my 04 gt and the pulley came loose in traffic and i lost power steering and brakes

      I held the pulley down with a rag and tightened it up but it’s always good to check on it often if you got a heavy foot

      Update: I installed these same Pulleys on an 03 GT and actually torqued it this time, it has been good for a year so far..
      Also STEEDA sent me the wrong alternator pulley so I ran it without the alternator pulley for a few months and it was fine, then I fabricated a bushing to make it work and actually feel the difference with the smaller alternator pulley on there..
      I highly recommend these for a 99-04, it definitely helps especially at low RPMs with these engines.. The car revs up much quicker and feels more responsive and more powerful.. Unfortunately you get used to it quickly like anything else but it’s definitely a worthwhile mod, especially considering the balancer pulley is better quality than the factory..

    Looks good brother, just got a set for my mercury, can definitely agree steedas are the best. I completely agree about the not-so-great piggyback system... its very jankey if you ask me

      Honestly yes, not much but yes. I noticed it revved up a little bit faster and it felt a little more perky. That combined with the lightweight flywheel I have installed my car revs up fast

    Hope you do the cam swap and I do have a question about that. If I do decide to do a cam swap on my 96 will I have to have it turned for it to run afterwards thanks

    • @NYAcars
      @NYAcars  3 года назад

      I’m definitely going to do the cam swap soon, the cars almost back together then I’ll start on the heads. It’ll be my first time building heads so it’s a learning experience for me, what do you mean by having it turned?

    • @roybunns4686
      @roybunns4686 3 года назад

      After swapping a cam with the cars factory computer settings still be ok or would I need to take it somewhere to have it turned to the cam I have built a bunch of carburator engines but iv never messed with fuel injection so I have no clue to what it takes

    • @NYAcars
      @NYAcars  3 года назад

      I’d definitely get it tuned to play it safe, your computer can only self adjust itself so much before it goes out of spec and goes into limp mode or just won’t start.
