    What do you think? Would you try an electric Banjo? Full sound sample: 7:37

    Doesn't sound like a banjo, sounds super super clean.

      You're right, it doesn't sound like a Banjo, even though it is played like one. The very low tension of the strings results in a distinct sweetness and softness that feels different from electric guitar.

      Tone comes from the amp!

      I'm using a small Orange amp that doesn't have any distinct characteristics. Any other electric instruments I play through the amp clean sound as expected: plain and devoid of any interesting qualities.

    You can use dental floss to line up the bridge to the neck, no more guessing.😊

      Whoa talk about life hack! Oh no, I stopped using dental floss after they invented those toothpick things that have dental floss built in. They're just so easy to use.

      @@MountainHomeJerrel I use the tiny brushes for dental work, keep some floss specially for luthery purposes.

      @@MountainHomeJerrel For sure, I've modded a Behringer 'strat' type guitar and made it fretless, changed pickups and electronics a few years ago, it has become my main recording guitar in the past years!!!

    Awesome Project! Inspiring me to tinker for an electric tenor guitar! (side note, I Love those first act humbuckers, at a budget they sound pretty dang good. had some in the VW garagemaster.)

      Go for it! Tinker and give it a try! Honestly I am utterly shocked at how good these pickups are. The sound is clean and has texture and character.

    • @MountainHomeJerrel
      @MountainHomeJerrel  3 месяца назад +1

      It actually worked out well! I took the bouzouki strings off as I used it for other instruments but I think I will buy another pair and use that guitar bouzouki again. Keep an eye out and I'll post a video soon to show the mod again. Good luck with your mod and let me know how it goes! I was D'Addario Bouzouki string set.

    Bridge should be exactly the same measurement from the 12th fret as the nut is.

      @MountainHomeJerrel  2 месяца назад

      @@penfold7800 that's right. Luckily electric guitar bridges are highly adjustable to take into account the varying string widths.

    You only needed to equally SHIM both sides to get the neck CENTERED !!
    DISAPPOINTED you didn't think of that. You also failed to insure the strings matched up with each of the pickups.
