This RARE Resonator Mandolin has a unique sound
Hello my friend:) Can you put fine tuners on the wee Pochette:) I like how you play:) Be well and happy always:)
I am glad I found your channel.
I love the resonator
I agree with what you say about banjos “punching through”. It is not my favorite instrument for that reason. I like it in small doses.
I like the traditional better. However, that could be what I am used to.
Really cool. I had this same idea come to me while I was sitting in church the other day 😊
Marry Christmas always am here for your playing!
House of the Rising Sun!!! Beautiful!
Thanks for bringing more sonic *depth* to the Christmas season - and a very lovely visual setting. Cheers from the mountains.
Merry Christmas nice sound thank you
What a lovely sound!
all this for an instrument that sounds a bit boring
Merry Christmas. I will be playing Go Tell It On the Mountain for church on my Autoharp. My Christmas treat will be Old Croc Sharp Cheddar 12months+ Grass Fed Australian!

Merry Christmas!
That other one is a cello banjo, correct?
Any advice for someone attempting this? I have an a frame Mando that I want to put a banjo neck on, all on the cheap
Seriously considering doing this with a cheap mandolin I have. The banjola from goldtone is nice but just way too expensive. Plus I just want something light I can play at a campfire. I have an A frame mandolin to work with. Hoping for the best
It's a very narrow instrument. Did you use the original tenor banjo nut, or did you have to start from scratch?
I found someone selling a Vangoa branded 6 string mini banjo locally cheap, so I had to get it. Has a very short 17 inch/433mm scale length. I experimented with several tunings and string gauges for the last several months, wasn't really feeling it, and have finally found one that works really well, but is a little odd. I'm using .014-.062 Daddario guitar string set, and tuning low. The same range as a full size guitar, but open G. And the weird part is that the lowest stings are in unison. Low to high it goes GGDGBD. I've also made a heavier bridge from micarta, which seems to give it more sustain. It's very well suited to slide playing, much moreso than you'd think. Clawhammer works well, too. Lots of grunt due to the fat strings in the range of a full size guitar. Despite the low tuning, the fat strings are doing ok. I think GHS makes an even heavier set that might be better. Or maybe a custom assembled set. This kind of instrument was until recently available new pretty inexpensively under at least two brand names. I don't know if they're gone forever or if they're going to do another run. But it's a really neat and tiny banjo hybrid to play.
That's a very unique sound. It comes close to sounding like something from a Japanese "Gottan" or "Koto" used in ceremonial rituals and songs. It is a beautiful build ! I enjoyed it very much. Have a great day !
Very interesting 😮
Rad
Great job, Jarrel! For your next project, you should use violin strings to convert a concert scale banjolele into a mini Irish tenor banjo.
Very cool man! I love your frankenstein projects. I think you could make some good coin selling them on the side.

Do you want to sell your Burmese mandolin?
You can make it a Chromatic Version for ultimate range
A Soprano Banjitar, it sounds nice.

Fabulous
I loved the video!!!

Is there one for a ukulele bass guitar? Tell me which one and link to the thing?
Nice builds Jerrel.
This actually hurt 😢
I don’t know whether to be uncomfortable or impressed 😶
Thank you for great informative video. Greetings from a Danish banjo builder. Arnbak Banjos at RUclips.
Beautiful and it sounds great
Oh these birds!
You really neeeeed to carve a cool scroll for each of your instruments. Sort of like The Hu. No, wait a minute, they're ancient, yours are 21st century. Professor, The Hu can come to you! 🤠👍
Ha, just wondered if anyone has done this and here you are! Sounds rad.
"Why can't everything be a banjo" - Jerrel haha. The ultimate mountain setup.
@@El_Chompo hahaha you summed me up perfectly.
Pretty sure i saw the instruments in '77, second act, (had a cranky wookie inthe room). Still think yours sound better 😊

Beautiful. I can travel in now.❤
Umm
Lovely! And some great low end on the tunes! That chord zither banjo would be great for songs at an Irish session.
That is a very interesting set of creations. Nice work. I love all the variations in banjo sound.
The melding of the instrument's sound types is wonderful !!!!
