Harassment and threats? Unacceptable. Criticism is valid if it comes from the right place, though. It is heavily suggested that she used her influence and that of her husband to deny funding for worthier athletes and teams to attend qualifiers. More information will come out. Telling anyone criticizing to get fked, though, is petulant and toxic positivity.
curious...doesn't a quatro have 4 strings? That looks like a Portuguese Vihuela or Hawaiian Tiple to me with ten strings or a wooden charango maybe? double course 10 string is usually charango...my tiple and charango both need repair on the bridge but my charango needs upgraded tuners for sure
From my understanding, Puerto Rican Cuatros are typically 10 string and Venezuelan Cuatros are 4 string. I'm still learning about this instrument!
Thank you for sharing! This is very helpful. I'm currently restoring an 1800's Kurten Bros Concert Zither.
Where did you purchase the tailpiece?
I would love a video on how you went about restoring this mandolin harp!
I'm glad RUclips recommends me content just like this. Good stuff!
I appreciate that! Welcome! I've got new videos I'm editing and about to upload.
So the Australian spirit is to not tell each other the truth, even if they are making themselves look like a fool or a flopping fish on a skillet on the dance floor? Because if it is, it actually makes sense as to why Rachel has no idea that she doesn’t have any breakdancing skills in her body😂 she just made Australia look like a joke and standing by her side, makes you look like an even bigger joke😂
❤
Hey mate, what height bridge did you put on it?
@@philjob6584 I'll make a video to answer you in detail. The height is mostly personal preference, but also depends on the other aspects of your setup such as neck angle and head tension. Because you can freely move the bridge around, the bridge height depends on your style of playing and personal preference.
Any tips on re-felting? I suppose there are other tutorials on RUclips, but I was just wondering about how and how often you did it.
@@IMBrute-ir7gz Hi. I only replace my felts when I find that I have to push harder than expected in order to properly form the chord. That depends on how often you play, which chords you use most often, and how hard you normally press. I play regularly, at music sessions, jams, and festivals, and have so far only had to reflect a couple bars once a year. I don't have the master level experience with refelting to be able to offer any advice with the process, so I recommend checking in with Hal Weeks, an expert on all things autoharp. ruclips.net/video/CzePzvUUgu4/видео.html
Knocking On Heaven's Door. I have 2 21Chord Chromatic AH's, one OS and one d'Aigle. I might convert the OS to a Diatonic of some kind, not sure which key or keys yet. Great video!
That's great! If you do convert to a diatonic, let me know how it goes. I'm interested in hearing about it.
There is some methodology to the chording, I just don't get it. How do you know the fingering of these chords? This question is starting to obsess me!!! Can you give insights?I subscribed a long time ago, I really enjoy your videos. You are so talented and your presence on camera keeps my attention for sure. Thank you for all you share.
I appreciate that, thank you for watching and commenting! I have a chord chart to remind me of the chords if I forget them. If you go to Google and search "Mandolin Chord chart" you'll find a variety of charts. Some will make more sense and be easier to look at that others so have a look around. You can print them out and keep them on hand!
No! The olympics isn't a place to "have a go" that's what the local pub is for, or your backyard, the Olympics is where the world's most elite athletes compete on a stage that should have the upper tier of capability on display. Rightfully, Australians fail to accept that this was the best we have to offer given the kind of dancing moves you can find at most dance schools, or out at a club on the weekend. It isn't that dissimilar to what we saw for the men's contribution to sport climbing from Australia.. WTF was that, I've seen people at my local bouldering gym who would run rings around that competitor.. and you wanna look me straight in the face and try pretend that was the best we have?? I don't know who was responsible for selecting these individuals.. they need to be removed and for a more objective set of criteria to be introduced so we can get real talented athletes in to represent our country.
@@JaxCavalera I agree that we need to select the best representatives for each sport, but Australia just lacks the senior level experts to judge a counter culture street sport like Breakdancing. Rachel isn't great at Breakdancing. She wasn't anywhere near as good as the other competitors. Does that make harassment and bullying acceptable? I'm not that smart so I'm not familiar with the reasons it is okay for grown adults to act like children.
I thought this was going to be some sort of joke, but you were serious! Raygun was an embarrassment to Australia and an embarrassment to the Australian Olympic committee. How on earth could she have been the best that Australia had to offer? It looked like she had never even seen break dancing before, never mind that it should have NEVER have been in the Olympics to start with as it is NOT a sport. Patriotism is commendable, but supporting a horrible performance is not!
Amen brother, no excuse for abuse.
@@mediumdeli-squishis you got it, mate. Cheers.

I love her!
@@chatroom101 Great! I don't understand the online culture of celebrating tearing people down even when they don't deserve it.
Thats called a mob
Finally someone who has a brain. I'm shocked how horrible the entire country seems to be towards someone who done nothing hideous like a crime. I'm amazed no one has considered her mental health, I honestly wouldn't be surprised if this had a very bad outcome. If anyone slamming her says they stand for mental health and are against bullying then they are full on hypocrits
You get it. Australians didn't used to act like this. It is the Twitter and Facebook culture that has conditioned people to act like this. Rachel is a normal lady and hasn't done anything bad to anyone in this situation. Yet Twitter and Facebook nutjobs keep inventing justifications to harass and bully her and other people related to the situation and convince the general public that this behaviour is alright. It is mongrel act.
If you think the austrialian spirit is fraud and absolute incompetence than yea, support her, just throw another shrimp on the barbie and call it a day. An intelligent person from any country would have at least looked at her performance compared to her past performances to see that she intentionally had a bad routine.
Lol ask urself, if someone amateur gets to represent Australia in rugby or cricket, will other Australians still agree with u? U r only saying this cuz u take no pride or don’t even care about the sports or even Australia. Lol seriously u send an amateur to Olympics lmao bro u need to wake up.

@@musicalintentions thanks for watching!
The big difference between others who have been "fish out water" participants in the Olympics over the years, such as the English back jumper Eddie The Eagle, the Jamaican bobsleigh team or the African swimmer who almost drowned, is that they actually did their very best. But this narcissistic woman didn't do that, she has said in interviews that she didn't care to do her best and "just did her thing" when she realized that she couldn't do as advanced moves as the other female participants (like an arrogant whatever attitude and she stood and pretended to yawn at the other girls competing). And that no other women could breakdance better than her in the whole of Australia, none of us believe that bullshit.
As an American that lived in Australia for almost 3 years back in 2005, I agree with a lot what you said! Giving everyone a fair go, mateship and just being chill and laid back is the Aussie culture I remember. Gunn does not deserve bullying or harassment. But, she sucks and the AOC should be investigated for letting her represent the country. Whoever is celebrating her performance needs to stop trying to spin and manipulate the situation. Just take the L and move on, including her! We cannot and should not celebrate sub-mediocrity.
That's just a tenor guitar
Not Australian, but my understanding is that she was complicit in the riging of her placement in the olympics in the first place, that is why she was opened to the criticism.
Here's a video of the Table Violin being used ruclips.net/video/BQtizr_AiRg/видео.html
Australia is constantly let down by people who try to convince others of being entitled to receive a medal for just trying. Until not too long ago, it was a meritocratic society.
I'm in the group of people who believe mediocrity should not be celebrated, but neither should be shamed or treated as a crime. A lady in her 30's is not great at dancing and lives a privileged life. This used to be something Australians would laugh about then continue on with their day. Now apparently it is reason for harassment and bullying.

I'm honored that you pointed this video in my direction. It encourages me to show more of my multi-cultural collection. Cheers, Paul
Thank you, Paul. Great to hear from you. I look forward to seeing and hearing more of your instrument collection. I like to think of it as a good excuse to learn more about history and other cultures! Here's that link for a sound sample of the table violin: ruclips.net/video/BQtizr_AiRg/видео.html
Very cool!
Great collection. Your knowledge of instruments is what brought me to your channel initially. I have a small collection of basic folk instruments, banjos, guitars, my fiddle, some jaw harps (Im a big fan of jaw harps), Irish tin whistles etc. Slowly accumulating more. I really want some zithers eventually. I see them all the time for sale where I am.
Respectfully Imma just say that aussies have far enough right to critique her performance. After all it was their country she had represented. I get that it shouldnt justify harassment still however, it comes from the frustration and disappointment obviously . Im not aussie, Im from nz but Ive been around aussies almost all my life, played footy with them, worked with them and talked with them enough to understand the culture, enough to understand how unfiltered and raw they can be. So I guess that ties in with the way they wanted to express their opinion on the matter yk? Still doesnt mean aussies have to harass her I get that. I feel your msg tho was more hostile rather than uplifting. Im not sure how “fighting” other aussies who disagree with your viewpoint promotes the msg youre tryna get across bcos that would be hypocritical of you to say .. defending her doesnt mean coming for everyone else .
I absolutely agree that people have the right to critique, and that if you are performing at high levels, you should be critiqued. What is not on is harassment, bullying, and threats that are pouring in over the internet, especially from aussies. I am just absolutely frustrated and utterly disheartened that the Australia I see today is not the Australia I moved to nearly 20 years ago. Instead of the Australian spirit, of "she'll be right" or laughing things off, I see the homogenized "Twitter" outrage witch-hunt attitude dominating Australian culture.
Wished this world had more people like you.
I think it's important we have all kinds of different people. If too many people are too like minded, we get our heads stuck up our own asses and get high off our own farts. Many of my friends have opposite perspectives and views to me and I'm happy with that. What matters is that we all make some effort to be good people.
@MountainHomeJerrel yeah that's what i meant. Everyone had opinions and they are entitled to them as long as they are not hindering someone's journey
@@viperflyer Somes like the world needs more people like you.
She should have been told long before the olympics that she wasn't good enough.
From my understanding, she was selected by a Ballroom Dancing committee or something like that. Australia doesn't have a senior level expert body when it comes to breakdancing the way that it does for traditional sports that have been around for WAY longer.
@@MountainHomeJerrel If she has won a championship, who the hell was her opponent in that contest? People in comas?
Thank you handsome! Old grandma here has hurt her neck and had to ditch my jumbos. I'm still able to play smaller bodies and may consider this now that you've presented it in such a favorable light. I saw a 6 in person at the store just today, and was impressed with its big clear sound, but I want a 12. Much obliged.
She deserves to be criticized and I highly doubt anyone is “threatening” her. You’re PATHETIC.
Apart from those who actually Breakdance . No one in Australia cares about it . Most males see all types of dancing as a bit feminine. Unfortunately we do have some Sookie La La s who just whinge about everything. Im embarrassed to be in the same country as these whingers . Truly they make marshmallow look hard .
Raygun is my Spirit Animal Team Raygun all the way
So a woman that removed the sport from the Olympics, whom now cost hundreds of dancers that could have been discovered for future f*cking jobs, or opportunities. Now this style of dance will be ridiculed and not taken serious for future generation & possible employment in the arts. But hey you've got a f*cking beer and a statement, right. You c&nt.

Thank you for watching!
I think you are right. BUT she still scammed you and all Australians.
I don't know anything about that. How she got selected and who is better suited. I'm not an expert so I have no place making any kind of judgements like that. 20 years ago, Australians would have laughed this off and not made a big deal about it.
If you don't know anything about it why don't you just keep your head out of it?@@MountainHomeJerrel
Aussie's don't let truth stand in the way of reality. I agree, it's embarassing to be Aussie. Fight on, bruh (or sis since you look LGBTQ+)
This guy is sniffing glue. There is no way you cam defend what Raygun did and how she responded.
So it's okay for people to harass, threaten, and bully her as a result? I never said what she did was good. She's not good at what she did but she did what she believed in and she had a go. I didn't see how she responded and I don't really care.
Who's harrasing her ya weirdo simp?
