I tend to think in whatever language I'm using at the time or whichever is most prevalent in the context I'm in at a given moment. (I speak six languages, and I think in four of them whenever I'm in that context.) The transition happens kind of subconsciously rather than always being intentional. Recently, when in France, I became aware on the first day that I was still thinking in Spanish... but by the end of the day I was already thinking in French.

I think mostly in English however if I get super excited about something I will switch to Japanese until I am finished with that task or outing.

It depends for me, sometimes when I’m in English mode if I hear a word in Spanish my mind will automatically switch to Spanish. And vice versa.

    Hey guys!
    My name is Jonathas,
    I'm from Brazil
I speak Portuguese, Spanish, English and Russian and I'm learning French and German
I think mostly in Portuguese my native language since I live in Brazil, but when I watch something in Spanish, English and Russian I automatically think in these languages.

Those of us with running inner dialogs *do* walk into a room, see all the bits-n-bobs, and have a constant flow of discussion happening in our heads. Sí, hay palabras corren a través nuestras cabezas, siempre.

Eso. Les deberían haber preguntado en cuál idioma es su diálogo interno en ves de en cual idioma piensan.

What a wonderful video and so inspiring and thoughtful. I think that Carolos's answer regarding labeling thoughts in a language is incredibly thought provoking and really resonated with me. I think that language is really just a label to our thoughts, anyway. This was just a great video and I thank you so much for making it. I also want to add that I love your channel. You are very inspirational.

I also found the “labeling thoughts” as an interesting perspective. It seems quite introspective on how his mind handles languages, and presumably many other people.

Très intéressant puisque ma langue maternelle est le français, mais que je pense souvent en anglais. Cependant, quand je compte mentalement, c'est en français. Par contre, il m'arrive de rêver en anglais.
