Thank you I managed to get this done I'm not normally good at this sort of thing but it all worked out. I broke the battery connector on the chipboard but also managed to solder it using the three solder points instead of the connector. What a journey 😂
So today I got 2 SD2VITA adapters for my OLED and 2000 Model. I'm just waiting on the SD Cards and while browsing I see PSVSD. Kind of cool to see the old SIM slot being repurposed and a neater alternative overall since it leaves the Game Card slot open. I do have to ask what makes PSVSD better over SD2VITA? Is performance/read and write speed any better?
I recently got back into the Vita and had a SD2Vita I used very shortly before realizing it was an extra annoyance to ever want to use the game card slot again. Didnt know this mod board existed until I saw your video. So anyways I installed this in my vita 1000 3G and now my game card slot is freed up and mounting games along side the additional SD live space storage. I also mirrored the partition setups on my Vita TV and I can use a USB to Micro SD adapter and seamlessly transition from either console if I felt the need to. I shouldn't ever have to touch or mess with the partition/mounting points for the systems ever again. The only thing I really want is a flat flex extender though and I cant find them anywhere right now purpose made like you had. I could probably build my own but the one you used was very slick. Anyways without that I will just have to tear the console down if I ever want to move the SD card to my PS TV. If you know where to get the flat flex or have a good suggestion on alternatives thats greatly appreciated.
I bought a WiFi model because the Vita's were locked to AT&T in the US. I have a Japanese model I got off eBay a few years ago that is a 3G that I might do this on
I used to use the 3g sd mod by molecule and I had severe corruption issues. I would just randomly get the c828 error one by one until my entire card was corrupt. I would start over from scratch and it happened again, so I bought a spare motherboard and tried and it happened AGAIN. 3 times and that burned me out on the vita completely for almost 4 years. I just started back into modding a few months ago and I am steering faaar clear from ANY 3g sd mod. So far with sd2vita I have zero corruption issues and that's using the same vita and memory card.
@@NeptuneSega no it's not, my card is authentic. The voltage to the 3g module is too low to properly read and write memory. Know what your talking about before you look like a buffoon.
they removed the ports they didn't used anyway. 2000 models might use an otg port to connect a thunbstick, since I watched a modding video that adds an usb port but it was done on a fat vita. I think an sd2vita will do just fine anyway.
surrpised people can still order this, i put one of these in my 3g a few years ago but ive had save error issues rnadomly, could you let me know if this happened to you too ? i heard its a common bug cant fix it
What are the dimensions of this cable? I found one online that's 0.16m, I worry that I might have excess cable length so I'd have to bend the cable in uncomfortable ways to fit snug in the shell. Nice video, I'll use it as my guidelines when I get around to the install. I already have the psvsd module so I'm looking forward to it!
I didn’t run into that issue thankfully. If you’re totally stripped try grabbing the head with flush cuts and turning or some locking Vice grip pliers. Luckily the head is large to grab onto
When i did my 3g vita I had to use yacht (or something like that is called) and wasn't easy, no guides or anything online that I could find. For my other vita I'm going to use the this guide.
NO SOLDERING!!! Thanks for bringing to light the PSVSD extender cable. Sigh. Guess I have to wait for that to arrive now, too. And thanks for hacking my Switch for me hehe
@Luxurious Superstar it was ps vita charging and usb mod by Francesco Barbieri, technically you can use those micro usb thumbsticks on a 2000 vita model, of course these mods require henkaku in order to work.
@Luxurious Superstar if it's 2000 just grab a micro usb thumbstick and try to plug it, go to vitashell press triangle choose "mount uma 0", later "mount usb as ux0" see if that works, now that I remember, you will need to plug the thumstick after selecting "mount uma 0"
@Luxurious Superstar yep, there are these small dual drives meant to copy the phone's files and later paste them to a pc, must be micro usb because there are usb-c models too. I assume it is possible, couldn't test it on my 2000 vita because I sold it.
this isnt about keeping physical carts. you can now have 2 TBs of storage on a vita. one inside the vita with an extension cable and 1 in the cartridge slot.
@@Primeval-Frost Exactly, I have my little collection of physical games that I like to play, but having this module would be sweet for all other emus. Too bad I don’t have my 3G Vita anymore 😢
@@ModzvilleUSA yeah yeah.... usually you needed at least one kind for the 1000s whereas the 2000s had 1GB Internal to work with....no OLED though. Im glad I decided to keep my 3G oled vita after all these years. It still charges and runs perfectly
I just purchased a oled i have two 2000.

I like that you using the soundtrack of one of my favorite games. Skies of arcadia battle music.
I never knew this install waa soderless. Great vid as always.
Just ordered 2, one for each of my 3G Vitas
With this, you could probably store damn near the entire PSP library on your Vita. This is pretty tempting. Looks easy enough too.
Nice, I can't believe I now have to update at least one of my PSP's Thanks :) I hope my package got to you today :)
Seems to be an extremely easy mod. Definitely doing this when i get my hands on a Vita (which i hope is very soon, can't wait!)
The link to the extension cable is outdated. Can you share any specification of it so I can search for one?

Where can I buy the PSVSD Extension cable at? The current ebay links do not work.

sim to Sd & usb-C would be ultimate vita
BROOO, I got to get me a 3G Model, Sweet video! Just came across your channel!
There's no really a need for a 3G disabler to be installed manualy since its available in Autoplugin II.
Yo.... that blue is so sick.... I got a red...
Wanted to mod a USB C in it for charging and data but couldn't be arsed since no one else done it
Oh wow no solder at all!! Yeah seems super worth it given how much sd2vita adapters crap out, thaaaanks bra :D
I bought a WiFi model because the Vita's were locked to AT&T in the US. I have a Japanese model I got off eBay a few years ago that is a 3G that I might do this on
The issue is 3G models are uncommon and your missing that port if you didn't have one with it

Oh, great. I had corruption with SD2Vita which is why I'm moving to this. Sigh. I don't get the hype for Vita modding. It's all been so finicky for me
Make sure you're not using sketchy sd cards. Amazon sells tons of fake. That's is the problem you both are having.

Yeah LOL @@NeptuneSega
Just got the extender from the seller as he made another batch!
Did they ever make a sd adapter for the vita memory slot? 3TB vita
Should get an Ifixit kit it saves the hassle of buying single screw drivers
The eBay link no longer works 😢
Unfortunately I use model 2000 slim... Why this socket was removed on a new model?

Update: the screws broke my T2 bit so I had to dremel them and use a flat head
If i just want to install this and set it and forget. I don't need the extension ribbon right? I can just add the sd card to the ssd plug and be fine?

that slot is a MSATA its possible to add msata ssd on psvita ?
Im sorta confused. So you need a modded ps vita to do it? Or can you do it then mod the vita?
Could've mentioned in the video how easy the screws that hold the module are to strip.
I didn’t run into that issue thankfully. If you’re totally stripped try grabbing the head with flush cuts and turning or some locking Vice grip pliers. Luckily the head is large to grab onto
@@ModzvilleUSA oh ok cool. I ended up buying some Vamplier screw removal pliers off of Amazon, and i’m hoping that does the job.

3:13 Hey... wait... I recognize this music. Though it feels a tad empty without Delta Shield or Cutlass Fury going off in the background.
Is all the music from skies of arcadia? It all sounds very n64 to me, but I don't recognize any of it
just bought one for my brother at a pawn shop. Didn't know it was the 3G model.
Я из России, и мне не доступна покупка PSVSD. У вас есть возможность предоставить техническую документацию, что бы я смог изготовить PSVSD ?
Can I do this and also add the 4000 battery? Or I need to decide one or another?

Is there a functional version of this for the 2000 model?
No since this requires a 3g vita and the 2000 model never had a 3g version
there was other mod in which you add an usb port to use thunbsticks as memory cards (UX0)

Bruh 2tb on ps vita seems a little insane lol
Does it work on Vita 2000s?
How long is that extension cable please.
❤ as always good!!
Unfortunately I sold my OLED Vita years ago. Now they're going for more than I'm willing to shell out.
They’re pretty affordable imo. I bought this blue one was like 130 shipped from Japan
Yeah the Japanese ones are nice and colorful and in well kept shape
This only for the 1k model ?
Yeah 1k with 3g only
Well this was a fail, it hid all my homebrew and games so I can't access anything
Cool technique but I really don't think people care all that much about physical carts if they plan to get into modding a vita

some people who mod their vitas are also game collectors, they may want to use the cart slot.

literally did the same thing when I made this video, had to buy another vita lol

It’s open source now. I retweeted it on Twitter recently
@ModzvilleUSA! is it better then the one you used just look though all your tweets notice black ribbon looks smaller then the one you used
These are both available on Tindie still by the original creator
Ps vitas are pretty dope. I wish they could run linux though.
..why? Linux gaming is subpar. And there is 0 reason to use this without gaming purposes..

Why remove 3g and add SD, when it allready has it…? 🤔
You’re mistaken. The vita uses it’s a proprietary memory stick and those sticks are stupid expensive.
