  • Got a lot questions about one of my recent videos regarding the oiling of paper shredders. Here is the video to answer all these questions.
    Bonsaii shredder lubricant oil optimizes shredder performance and extends its lifetime by conditioning the cutters to reduce blade friction and paper jams. It is easy for your shredder to work. Special extended and oblique nozzle ensures complete coverage to blades for proper application. Works great with all paper shredder. I suggest to oil shredder once every 30 minutes of accumulative shredding or at least twice a month for shredder maintenance
    Contains:
    One 4 oz. / 120ml bonsaii paper shredder lubricant Bottled Oil
    Oiling Procedures:
    - Apply the lubricant oil to one piece of paper.
    - Fold the oiled paper.
    * - Shred the oiled paper.
    Warning:
    * For paper shredder only.
    * Keep away from children.
    * Avoid contact with eyes.
    * Please wash hands after use.

    Thank you so much for this information. I couldn't find any instructions in the booklet that came with my new shredder.

    Hi Michael, I liked your video but I'm just concerned if the oil starts to accumulate in the bottom of the basket and make a mess?

      Good Morning Dan. I thought about the same thing as I got my first paper shredder. First of all, don’t drench your paper shredder in oil. Just squeeze the oil bottle a little bit. Just use a “line” of oil arose the entire slot. This amount should be easily absorbed by the cutting mechanism. But for the case that oil is dripping out of the cutting mechanism, I always leave on the bottom of the bin some paper shreds, about half an inch high, in order to absorb any oil dripping out of the cutting mechanism. That worked well for me, the bottom of my paper shredder is still very clean. Have a great weekend 😀👍

      @@Woopnik I ended up Googling it and I found out that most of those Shredder oils are basically mineral oil so I had a bottle of Johnson baby oil you just squirt it across an eight and a half by 11 sheet of paper and feed the sheet of oily paper through the paper shredder works like magic it's so much nicer now sorry about your husband I hope your life is well

    Just use canola oil or vegetable oil, don't waste your money.

      You should use manufacturer-approved oil. Different shredders will use different oils and will usually sell the oil where you purchased your shredder.
      If you are using an old and/or out of warranty paper shredder, you can use canola oil as a substitute rather than purchasing manufacture approved oil.
      Because the oil I am showing in the video is dirt cheap, about $7 per bottle, I don’t see a financial advantage not to use manufacturer approved oil. The bottle of oil shown lasted me for over 4 years and it is still not empty.

      @@Woopnik You make good points regarding oil usage. I bought the manufacturer's recommendation. Since my unit will be out of warranty when I'll need to buy more, I'll get the canola oil then. Thanks again for your video.
