Wow, the most authentic version I've heard of Bayan ko. Sang by three men who knew the hardship of life. I remembered, was it Mang Romeo who said that he had no one to pass on his music. They never thought that they would one day be able to pass on their legacy for the whole world to watch and listen. Thank you Florante for finding these hidden gems.

OMG! This made me cry. I have been away from where I was born for 52 years now. This song, especially the Ilocano part, made me remember my beautiful memories when I was a child with my grandmother in the Ilocos region until I left when my family moved to the US when I was just 12 yrs old and I have not been back since then. This song reminded me that I am a Filipina inside & out and very proud of it......I have almost forgotten. Thank you for sharing this beautiful harana. I am now planning to visit the Philippines and get to know myself again. Thank you for this beautiful song & video.

Makes me teary eyed every time this nationalistic song is sung especially with the accompaniment of guitar harana style sir Florante . I watched.with so much gusto your Harana Documentary as I was a haranista myself. In fact I could claim that I was one of the youngest if not the youngest haranista in the Philippines during my Harana Days. I have been joining my cousins in their harana forays as early as 14 years of age and I have learned to sing kundiman songs leaving my high school barkadas in awe whenever requested to sing in between their singing The Beatles songs and other popular Bands during the late sixties. I have wished so much to have been included with those guys you have featured in your docu. Nevertheless I am happy for those guys and of course especially for you in initiating not only to reminisce but more so in reviving this very beautiful and very romantic Filipino culture. Please continue playing kundiman music thru your guitar. I love every piece that you've been airing thru your chanell. More power to you!!! Btw i'm now nearing my 7th decade on this planet and still a die hard kundiman singer and listener.

Keep it up Sir Florante and I hope sometimes you'll have a reunion with the "The Last Harana King" - Mr. Romeo Bergunio. ❤ It will be a one of the greatest moments seeing you together sings his songs for the very last time.
Master Haranista Romeo Bergunio is no longer with us. He passed away in 2021.
I'm gonna stir the hornet's nest by saying that phrase "...dayuhan ay humahalina" is VERY wrong.They shouldn't have changed the original, "... dayuhan ay NAHAHALINA".

Kinakanta rin to ng Papa ko isang Retired Police ng Davao City, late 70's to late 80's ang daming NPA araw araw may patay at naka abot pa siya ng Martial Law at sa awa ng Diyos nakapag Retired siya, at napa isip ako kaya siguro kinakanta o pinapa tugtug niya ang Kantang to Mahal niya ang Bayat at ang Kapwa Pilipino! I’m surprised that there’s a Ilocano version of Bayan Ko. This is the first time I heard it and I’m already 69 years old leaving here in Pennsylvania. I would like someone to do the whole Ilocano version in You Tube please.
