  • This is by far my current favorite tool. The power, features, and ease of use make me question even using a corded saw. In fact, I haven’t used a corded saw since I got this saw!

    You are not the first person to say they have a hard time getting the batteries out; I don't understand that. All I do is lay my saw on it's side, push the button with my thumb, and slide the battery's out with my fingers -- piece of cake!! I love this saw!! I just used it two days ago to build a deck; cuts stringers like butter! The gauge on it is accurate, the bevel is nice also. I went on Amazon and bought the rip guide that goes with it-- what a time saver!!! I bought this to replace my Makita worm drive that was 22 years old; nothing wrong with it, I just decided to cut the cord now that cordless tools have matched and or surpassed their corded brethren. Nice saw!!!

    I love that saw I currently have the makita 36v rear handle saw as my personal saw at home with my other personal tools and I have another makita 36v rear handle saw at work that replaced the skil saw mag 77. I’m a journeyman carpenter with the Hawaii carpenters union for 15 years.

    So impressed by that saw, especially that it did not kickback at all while sawing!

    I'm thankful that I purchased this saw after a little research and your video. Thanks for sharing your experience with it. Im certain this is more powerful than my M18 table saw. But it's awesome as well so I'm not complaining at all.
    Thanks again for sharing your videos.

    I just sold my Milwaukee M18 Fuel sidewinder since I'm replacing it with this Makita bad boy! The Milwaukee felt too "cheap" and the base plate bewel angle stop at 0 degree is a joke... Was cutting a lot of 2x6" and they were all off and not square due to this...

    I have this saw. It's a great saw. My only complaint is the batteries. Taking them out is a 50/50, sometimes it's easy and sometimes I feel like they are a little more trouble to take them out.

      Wow, that is a great deal. The batteries by themselves are around $100 each so you got the saw, charger and 1.5 batteries for free in that deal!

    This is a nice bit of kit! Seems like a gr8 saw... I haven't tried this model but I do use the red competitors similar model and it eats up the wood good too. I must admit that I still use my trusty and corded Mag 77 (grey model) for most of the heavier work. One thing I like about that corded model is that I can use the cord to hoist the saw up and down between floors and it also does very very well in LVL and hardy board materials and concrete chasing. The slim worm drive motor is still next to none in power to this day. I just don't have the same performances out of the cordless saw but it does remove the cord binds and catches that are soooo annoying on the job site. And these wormdrive (simili) models are certainly powerful enough for 95% of the work. Great tool you have there.

    DRS780 - пила огонь🔥, полный контроль над процессом пиления. Но мне больше всего нравится в ней крючок - огромный, цепкий и крепкий не то, что у RS001🙈
    Рад😊за Вас✊

    I do have a few Skil saw blade wrenches lying around, the thing is, I have no clue where they came from. Never owned a Skil saw in my life. I think they come with most apartments.

    Put some skateboard grip tape on the bottom and sides of the batteries. Problem solved. The plastic is kind of shiny and slippery.

    what’s the difference between this rear saw and a normal handle saw?

    • @DanSarahMakers
      @DanSarahMakers  4 года назад +1

      In a real worm drive geared saw, there is a lot more mechanical advantage due to the gearing, so it = more torque to the blade. A "normal" circural saw has the blade directly attached to the output shaft of the motor so it has a bit less torque. Honestly, it is personal preference, where you are from and what the person or boss had when you got started. Almost all of the cordless saws have in-line motors like "normal saws" but look like worm drive saws. The only exception right now is the Skil SPTH77M-12 cordless saw. Personally I like the longer worm drive saw platform becaus I find it a lot easier to cut in a straight line or "steer" it. The top handle also makes a really nice hanging point when working at a cut station so you don't hove to set it all of the way on the ground.

    Please fix the blue plastic organizer bins at the top of the video. If they are left that way for too long, the plastic may warp. Also this defeats the purpose of being organized if left unorganized.

    What the heck is this review? Some dude cutting sloppy rotten wood on his boot? WTF is this? Some people actually work, not goof off with tools we don't actually use in the field.
