Good idea mate, looks like it works a treat. I was wondering how stable and safe you feel in a chop, as the lake I fish in Australia can be very nasty, I have been looking at these on you tube for a while.

I have the earlier model that has the seat mounted on top of the pontoons. I mounted a pedestal to the floor but there is no way to anchor the floor. I decided it wasn't safe. As for waves splashing in, i haven't had mine in unprotected water. All my fishing has been in coves. I was thinking about trying to make something out of coroplast.

Good job with being creative. I personally don't like the way it looks now with what you put on . I don't like that wooden block that is there in the gap between the wooden blockand the marine plywood flooring I'm surprised there isn't more complaining of that 8 inch gap give or take it's lost Realistate I just got the boat and I'm gonna be taking care of that with additional marine plywood , it might be just me but it seems the boat scuffs up pretty easy it was out-of-the-box and just from assembling it it somehow got some scuffs it's new so I making a bigger deal than it is the or system seems like it takes some time to get used to the Scotty Mounts I'm not sure why they put those behind you when you're sitting it's awkward and it's been like that for the last 10 years I really haven't made many changes it is a great boat though. the biggest highlight of that boat is the raised floor not touching the water when it's calm. Gaining speed that way as welL, as it being a very light pontoon boat. I do agree with it not being a five out of five there is a couple of flaws with that boat and it's been around for 10 years now not really sure why there's any flaws still.

You shouldn't have to do that. I would either return it or tell them it's defective.

I use this Sea Eagle boat on a lake that is 4 miles long and about 3\4 of a mile wide. At the north and south end of the lake it is fairly open on the east shore there is a 3000ft mountain on the west shore a 2000ft mountain prev. winds are south westerly and one moment you are flat calm and the next you can have 2ft plus waves coming from all directions as a result of how they bounce of the hills. this mod I have done makes it a nicer boat when the wind gets abit silly.

The boat certainly moves around in the waves but it always sits on top of the waves the worst I have seen is about two feet from top to bottom of the waves , this on lakes I wouldn't take into surf I don't think this model is designed for that
