I've gotta say, I found your videos a couple days ago, and I've been watching years worth of car audio videos and been doing my own installs for many more years. I haven't watched a channel that has given me this level of inspiration and direction like I have in these videos you guys make. Thank you, I will continue to watch and enjoy and learn. Keep doing what you do. You guys meet my expectation and direction in car audio like I've never seen.

I have a pair of 17 year old JL Audio W015's that I had to refoam, but they still sound just as good as the day they were bought! I won't replace them either, used to run them with a pair of matching 12's in a ford Aerostar on a $400 watt 4 channel Clarion and people could not believe it, I turned an Orion dealer into a JL Audio dealer when I showed him my setup! He was amazed and had soon began selling JL, that was the same system I woke up a fire department with, all of them were in lawn chairs at the station on the strip wearing long johns pointing out my van to the police!
How many people have ever requested two different sizes of subs in an install? Back in the day, with JL it was a secret I learned from another friend! He couldn't fit four 15's in his grand am, but could just barely fit two 12's and two 15's and he would rattle my house over a mile down the road!
I always wondered why back in the day people did the different size subs. 2 15's and 2 12's. I remember when I was 15 I wanted a Toyota Celica hatchback just for the purpose of putting in "2 15's and 12's". lol.

5 star audio install is another level i cant stop watching .so cool and
I’ve worked on a lot of those trucks. To get the center console out without taking the seats out all you have to do is take the 4 Phillips head screws out from the left and right of the center console. The 4 in the bottom of the console pocket. Then take apart the rear seat entertainment. Sounds like more work when written down but no heavy lifting and it leaves the amp in the truck instead of the console.

I love your videos. I obsess over my car audio, but am married with 3 kids(broke). Your vids are great because you do the best with what the owner has and wants to achieve. You don't product push and that is appreciated as well.
Always subs first.. Lol. 1984 was the first time i heard 6 -12"s @ 2ohms i was 15. I got a 1970 Toyota Crown Station wagon. 4- 12"s @ 2ohms.

I can't believe you had to practically take the whole dash apart on the Honda and said how great it was but that one small center section of about 6 clips is a "pain in the butt".
I love how the Pioneer NEX models have the Rear Speaker off option that can be added to the favorites tab. In my Silverado, I just turn my rears off unless I have rear passengers.

JL have always produced quality
Rear speakers can play an interesting role in smoothing out crossover points if you have larger rears like 6x9 with 6.5 component in the front. But I guess that would fall into the preference category.

Your vedio's have helped me because I'm old school and i got out of sound systems years ago. I'm learning about the new sound systems and and the adapter's you got use with factory radio's. Rear speakers help to make a more full sound. Very important coming from a home audio backing haha.
I like the change on this one, to the point, very nice work u two, always entertaining and i learn something new every episode..
You know the reason why you series dual voice coil subs is to lower the impedance to match the amp. If you have a 1000w amp stable at 1 ohm or 500w at 2 ohm and you wire the 2 ohm dual voice coils the way you wired them you would only push 500w to the subs. But if you wire them the way you don't prefer then they would be wired in series and you would get the full power (1000w) to the subs. More bang for your buck. Otherwise to get the same performance you would have to have double the output amp. Which would cost you roughly twice as much.
It is true that there are disturbing noises if the rca are combined with the ground and current cables
Yes,it creates a whining noise. The faster you drive the louder the whine will get cause the alternator is picking up the current threw the RCA and battery wire. Run your RCA wires down one side and your battery down the opposite side of the car

I REALLY hope one day you guys get to do a full system overhaul in a newer model Grand Cherokee (2014+ with alpine or HK factory systems).
I have a system with new tweets and 4 doors and 2 subs under seat all Rockford and seem like my set up not good like yours ..if I had some one like you to look at it be a good helpful .. to see why my sounds not good and i feel like paid to much. ($3,500+) paid for all eight speakers and two amps and door protects and new stereo 🤔
L9ve your videos keep up the good work. By the way the bass knob in the console really annoyed me my local shop did that to my yukon pissed me off, water coffee got through the hole mest up my electrical. Best place to put it is between seat and console 👌 keep hidden 😉 6" by buckle release.

i down on jl for a long time until i was working for a shop that sold jl audio,the only way they would help with the cost of the equipment was for me to run jl subs. i wasn't happy but i tried them out JL audio 10 w3 four of them in one of my custom box. i figured that if i blew them at comp i just get something else. after break in and tune i was beating hard. my amp was getting very toasty running at 1 ohm ( us 200-hc ) at comp i won at 159.3 db . never blew them, i was a fan then and now. i sure miss the good old days of clean high current amps.

For a great sq demo song, try Danger Zone. Cant remember original artist as the one i have is rebassed, but its the theme song to Top Gun! When im showing off the sq of my system i play that song every time!

my system starting from front door and dash tweeter to rear and subs Head Unit Kenwood DDX8901HD Front mids & Highs JL Audio C2-650 6.5-Inch 2-Way Component Speaker System wired to head unit Rear Deck Jl Audio C2-690tx 6x9-Inch 3 Way Speakers with Silk Dome Tweeters subwoofer and amp 2 15inc JL Audio W0V3s 500 W RMS 4 ohm Single Coil in dual ported enclosure with the Phoenix Gold SX2 1200.1 mono block True RMS 600w x 1 Channel @ 4 ohm, 900w x 1 Channel @ 2 ohm, 1200w x 1 Channel @ 1 ohm with a 2 farad stinger capacitor i got the subs wired in at 4 ohms and its pretty loud did the install myself used 4 gauge ofc for my runs 14 ft of power 3 ft ground with 250 amp fuse plus i did it in my 07 Nissan Sentra S-ER witch had the Rockford fosgate 6 speaker package so i had to do a amplifier bypass witch was under the front passenger it was a bit of a pain considering i took out all the seats both front and rear seat had to share and middle counsel then i put in the alarm system and Sound Deadener to from start to finish little under 7 hours

Great job! Do which ever format you want - i like them both. Unless someone has dealt with the Bose stuff they will never know how much work this truck was. I'm in the infant stage of changing my Bose out. Done many installs in the past but holy cow!

Please breakdown the cost of some of your installs
I am getting hissing and little crackling noise from the right side front and rear speakers with the engine on or off, with the gain on the amp set to where it needs to be, in order to quiet the hissing I have to turn the gain all the way down, now I have to max out the radio volume. The install is a oem head unit to high level, speed wire to RCA cables to JL Audio amp that accepts high level inputs. The ground is solid, all RCA are good quality, power and signal wires ran on opposite sides. What am I missing I want to get rid of the hissing and get some gain. Will a Pac SN-1 solve my issue.
