I've been an installer since 1988, and I learn something every time I watch one of your video's. The smile on your customers face at the end of the video says it all. Well done guys.
U got my like. I didn't even read your comment. :)
Not only that, I rarely have run across a DIY job that was hacked this badly. This is embarrassing.
@@dnewma04oh i have. When i was an installer, ive seen waaaay worse. Power wire was 3 different wires, not ring terminals on battery or ground, just bare wire twisted around the threads of a bolt and where each wire met the next color of power wire, they didnt even crimp or even use wire nut, they had bare copper just laid against each other and taped it up.
"They used some kind of beaver to drill a hole through here"
I'm a visual type and I spit coke all over my keyboard when you dropped that line.
Hope you were talking about Coca Cola. Just pulling your leg.
"Looks like an apprentice went at this with a rusty beaver" - AvE
@@synergizerer21 Is that an actual verbatim quote? I rarely ever understand every word he uses in a complete sentence.
@@frankthetankricard that it is.
why were you drinking coke, are you 12?
Nice work.
My wife says that I always try to do things to "perfectly", just do it and get it done quickly. I showed her this video and showed her what "quickly" ends up creating and what thoughtful well executed work looks like. She still doesn't get it.
Tell her to get her hair and nails done quickly or have it done right maybe she'll understand then?
Hey bro, mine either! All I hear is that took you all day, even if it's 10 min lmao
I'm the same way,at my work some of my coworkers call me a "perfectionist' , ill ask them "if you were having a house built would you like some schmuck that doesn't care what hes doing and its in a hurry to build it for you or me? that usually elicits a response of "yeah i see what your saying" lol
Dude I know exactly what your going through...my wife is the same way
Guys....wives in general are like this. No surprises here
Dean, you've become one hell of a video producer on top of your other skills. You truly care about putting quality and effort into all that you do. It's refreshing
This crap is why I DIY. I am no where near as good as Dean and Fernando, but my stuff is better than the crap the other shop did.
Agree. I prefer to stay, ask questions and observe the few times I have to rely on somebody else for Car Audio, Electronics, Maintenance & Mechanic work.
Same 👍
Ditto!
I welcome people to sit and watch me work, ask questions and get hands on if they want.
@@bigaudiofanaticsoldchannel6162 That's good! Let people see what they are paying for.
The best installers are the ones who install like it's their personal car.I wish I was nearby so that you guys can do my installs.Thorough job.
Any other way is unacceptable
Yes, now I know how to install my system in my '16 Elentra. I should pay you guys for this lesson.
Buy some of their merch. or when you go to do your install buy some of the parts you'll need from their amazon links.
I installed mine in 2013 Hyundai Elantra
It's so nice to watch people that care about your property when they work on it. Very nice video.
It is always a relaxing moment watching all your 911 videos, they're very informative, right on awesome and straight to the point real world scenarios. Dean and Fernando you guys are the best!
Found my first Patreon account registration with this channel right here. I have seen a couple videos but I have never watched an hour long feature and been so enthralled to do my own system. Thank you!
😆 same
I need to put my amp into my Dodge Ram I wish these guys lived near me to get it done lol
A guy with integrity, who also believes in the power of not knowing everything (knows how to find instructions, and follow them) One of the few true professionals left out there, GREAT JOB!!! 😎😎😎
Dean and Fernando, this is by far one of the best videos you have ever done. You guys are awesome and absolute professionals.
I agree too.
I agree 100% these guys are awesome with their work.
ok
Always really cool to see full explanation from start to finish, the process the guys go through when it comes to install. Thank you Dean and Fernando.
I can not believe that you and Fernando did that whole car in a few hours. I am truly amazed you guys did all of that WHILE still recording content for the channel. .
Hands down I think this is one of your best videos I have watched. I love the work you all do and really enjoy the details you put into your installs. Thank you
I saw how long the video was and say no way I'm watching an hour of this... I couldn't turn it off, it never got boring.
On a time crunch.... proceeds to do install the right way using best methods and quality
@Dave Micolichek àa
Dave Micolichek is
It usually takes less time to do it right with the right tools/materials than to hack it up and fix it wrong.
This is one of THE best car install videos I have ever watched. Absolutely phenomenal. You watch things like this. Then you realise that this video is an object of study. A reference point for car audio installation. It makes me emotional to watch this. How that guy must have been feeling after the initial install. The anger, frustration and disappointment. Then to have the to have it redone, video logged and end result. You guys need a standing ovation. Well done.
The guys who disliked this video are probably the same guys who installed this lol
Estoy de acuerdo con tu comentario.
Facts lol
I was going to say the same thing. lol
They also work at Car Toys
Truuuu
I’m re-doing an aftermarket HU install in my wife’s Mercedes C230. Dean and Fernando, I wish I knew about you when I lived in Tampa. The shop that did the install ( in So CA) cut my factory harness, didn’t solder anything and the install looks like spaghetti. Your videos and tips are a big help, thanks for what you do.
They are in tampa Florida?
jean tsai They are in Clearwater. Just across the water from Tampa.
@@96matzed when i am in the us i would like to run by the shop and look at what they have.
1:01:48 is the moment you know you did a good job. Amazing stuff Dean and Fernando. Also keep this hour long videos going.
Wow just detail in trying to remember the location of the seat! A+
Wow. After watching this, I'm ashamed of my own "install." this definitely inspired me to fix everything though! Nice job!
Man the level of quality and integrity in your work is admirable. I guess it is $$$ pricey to make it right.
Dean. I think you and Fernando deserve a new shop with a bay with air conditioning...😎
Yea I i
I got the rear two
It been too long I haven't worked on ac for sometime
Agreed on the new shop, you both do know what you guys are doing. Keep it up guys.

Great content, as usual. The popularity of the 911 videos is no joke, and the way you go through the previous install with a fine-tooth comb just highlights how well you and Fernando know your jobs. I also really like seeing the customer's reactions to the previous install-hack-a-thon, as well as the reveal. That guy was grinning ear to ear. He may have had high expectations 5 installs ago, but you guys blew him away. What a truly incredible customer experience. Thanks for sharing!
It was great seeing the customers reaction after all the work was done :) Found the 1 hour vid compelling as the story unfolded...
It is a great qualification when the customer feels happy, as well to feel confident and secure about the services there are offered. And that's what you guys do!
Keep up the good work, Greetings from Greece!
The owner of this car needs to go back to who installed this equipment and demand his money back. I’ve been installing audio equipment for about 15 years and I have never seen something like this. Clearly there was no pride.
He should say who did it.
Or leave a review on yelp with a link to this mess.
No KNOWLEDGE!
Especially since he has video evidence now.
@@bondovwvw Shouldn't be very hard to figure out.
I really enjoy watching you guys do your install video's, but what I appreciate even more is that you guys seem to give the same amount of attention to detail to a customer who is spending $500 or $10,000. Finding shops/installers that really care about what they do and the end result is hard to find. Gotta love the big smiles when customers get a listen to the finished product!!
You guys always knock it out of the park. Nice work Brothers!! 💚💚
This video was quite entertaining you guys did a great job but please don't get offended but the car trunk could of done with ah little cleaning just for the to complete the video
Nothing is more helpful than a guy like this, gives you that peace of mind that hes genuinely interested in your issue and wants to help fix it, i love when you call a place to ask about a repair on your car and someone answers in a real dickhead voice "SHOP!!" and then when you show up they treat you like your 2 years old, this guy will always be busy and have a customer following, little kindness goes a long way.
Woooow can’t believe a shop actually sent the car out like that
It's always nice to see guys like this that are honest and are always about just selling but educated the customer and let them know the pros and cons I've been installing car sound system for about 20 years and never have I ever had to fix any of my work because of what this man is doing doing it the righ way the first time it's all you need
wow I know this video had to take awhile to edit, thank you Dean for everything you do! awesome video! One of your best yet!
I've been in this industry over 20 years. I don't do car audio but do lighting... gotta say you guys are a diamond in the ruff. Doing it right and educating customers and walking them step by step... you just don't find that anymore. People are too quick to buy cheap garbage and install it real fast and use the cheapest wires and components. I see it all the time in the lighting industry with people not using fuses and the wrong gauge wire.
You just can’t beat experience
Great video dean thank you
One of my best friends took his Thunderbird 15+ years ago to have a Complete Pioneer system put in, replaced factory speakers, they sold him on a Pioneer premier system, 2 12's nice big sized amp by pioneer. Subs were out of phase, as well as the factory replacements. Told my buddy I'd fix it for him but he paid over $2k so he wasn't having it! Sad he suffered that much, out of spite!
this is my dream job. i love doing installs and always try my best this vid has proven to me that i am pretty decent at what i do because i use a lot of the same tactics. i love your vids cant wait to watch and learn more in the future
XBomb just go for it I fell in love with car audio back in the 80s , I did it for 20 years plus , I’m now a certified electrician and a contractor for the military my experience in car audio put my on top of the game . Don’t matter if it’s 5 volts or 5000v. Ohms law never changes , good luck
That was one impressive video. The professionalism and the final product were both works of art. That video had more layers to it than the last Hollywood movie I watched. Great stuff!
On that factory harness repair, I usually take pics of the wire placement and de-pin the wires that need to be repaired. With the short end out of the plug it's much easier to solder and heatshrink. Then insert them back into the plug after. Anyone who claims to be a professional installer and hacks up a customer's factory wiring is only pro at being an asshat
I have 19 years in car audio, advanced security, fabrication, cabinetry, and accessories. I ran a high end shop for 9 years and this kind of work was common in the neighboring shops. There was more than one occasion where I saw expensive equipment deemed subpar by lackluster installations and many vehicles that were fire hazards. I would be humiliated if that was my work and it fell upon others' eyes. I love your methodical and detailed work.
Dam good video! Another happy customer.
Watched this whole thing and it made my install cleaner thank you! I used this as reference. Lets just say im proud of my install and it couldnt have been done without your explanations. Thanks Fernando and Dean!
holy jesus, you are a goldmine of free knowledge and information in this line of work. I have only done one job, my own truck audio upgrade, and it was about a two week process, but every issue that i got stuck at, you covered in your video. anyone who does this type of project, needs to watch this first, and anyone who does this a lot and knows the struggles it entails, could also benefit from a walk through by a professional, which is what this video is. THANK YOU
You went above and beyond imo. Great work, wish more people took as much pride in they're work as you and your shop! Funny this video was posted on my birthday.
That smile at the end said it all.
You guys do amazing work! I've been doing installs for 20 plus years and more regularly the past 5 years. I don't have a garage or all the tools and technology that I should but wish I did. I work in my driveway and most customers I have can't afford the high priced install shops so I make do with what I have and do the best I can with the limited resources. I love what I do and the best part of the job is the customers reaction when everything is done. The smiles and excitement make up for the lack of money I'm making but it's all worth it. Thank you for doing what you guys do it's definitely appreciated.
You should direct the next Transformers movie. You have gone along way in editing, directing, and finding the perfect angles.
Not enough explosions
Hey man that tells you he knows what he is doing. And that tells you did watched The entire video
I cant breathe thinking about how this was installed. I’ve installed all my stereos in every car I owned. I take my time and go step by step. And it bumps perfect every time. And I used a lot of your videos on the current build.
I feel like the owner of the car watches your videos and decided to try it himself and then took it to you.
By far, one of the best 911 shows!!! Super informative and also displaying some of the car audio short cuts (mistakes) that plague novice car audio shops. It is certainly something that needs to be discussed. Thank you guys for your time, effort, and knowledge.
Guess im gonna have to ship my Hummer H2 to them. They are certified OCD installers which i want.
Since when is performing your job correctly considered OCD? Judging by your comment I’m going to assume you do not give 110% at your job!
@@NeverEnoughPyro40 Most installers are lame like you. They want the sale only.
Its the continued attention to detail that makes this installer and project first rate. Everything is done in a craftsmanlike manner.
I thought they were gonna put a 911 in a Hyundai 🤦🏾♂️
Man I was off...
2020 vizzion i thought they were talking about 9/11 😂🤣 we both off
Man I feel u
I thought there where gunna do something with a Porsche 911 at a Hyundai dealer
Ya, terrible video description
Man ,I'm glad you said it first.lol
I love all of Five Star Car Stereo videos! its not just slapping stuff in and saying hey look at our work. The education is very much appreciated and i dont even own a Hyundai
nice! now the car owner can use this video in small claims court if he wishes to sue the prior shop
He really should!
Agreed
@Dave Micolichek The point of small claims is to sue without lawyers, therefore making it affordable.
That's a clean install! Functional, neat, easy to service and not unnecessarily flashy. Well done, guys!
what does something like this cost. this is a ton of work but looks awesome
This is the first video of theirs I've watched. These guys are so professional, treating the customer as they would like to be treated. Terrific job! I learned so much from this video.
Question: instead of soldering extension wires to the factory plug why didn't you re-pin the plug with fresh wire?
Because then the harness would be short making it a little hard to get a stereo in and out.
Wish more people took pride in their work like this fella different generation . Most kids now a days can’t even take the trash out .
This is shocking, if the work was done by a supposed professional installers they should be shot!
Arshad Mahmood take it easy buddy
@@johnnywood8082 I apologise if I have caused distress anyone. I said it metaphorically. Peace & best wishes to all :-)
the way he mount that amp, that's what you call MASTERPIECE !! wonderfull job.
Wow mate I’m speechless.
The business world needs more people like you, thinking first of clients satisfaction by providing, honest and genuine service.
Which you were here in Sydney, Australia 🙏🏻.
God bless you
Its all about that smile. I do many jobs just like this for people like him tht love music but without the how too. No matter how stressful a job can be seeing the customer completly blown away with joy is my reward. That guy is your customer for life its that simple.
Dean and Fernando are absolutely amazing and I love the professional they bring to their industrial. I never watch vids over 15 min long....but with these guys I watch every second and learn so much....wish I could be their apprentice!!
Best video you guys have ever published. Awesome detail and so fun to watch.
You guys do phenomenal work! Your prowess with the electrical stuff (modifying or building harnesses, testing pinouts and voltages, soldering, shrink tubing, etc.) is amazing. Nicely done.
you do learn something everyday, all the installs I've done what I really liked is how they cleaned up the wires not used on the harnesses rather than just taping them up and pushing all that extra wire into the dash. nice touch!
I know this video has been out for a while but I have to say this was one of the best ones to me... Typically most of the videos I watch from this team is less than 20 minutes long max. However I think this is the first one I have watched that was over an hour long and wasn't part of a 2 or 3 part series. I don't normally have the patients to sit through one continuous hour long video but this one had me pinned to my seat. I have always loved the 911 video but this one was one of the best because it was detailed from start to finish with walking the the customer through the entire thing... Great job guys and look forward to more of these!
I also meant to add that you guys are like the Mike Holmes of car audio "Make it Right" ;-)
THE best episode hands down! Loved the customer’s reaction! Please make more customer reaction vids!
So I am new to this channel, Dean you rock. Started diy this stuff in my teens became an electrician instead of following this avenue. I have seen some terrible things wiring wise but this pretty much takes the cake. You and your installer Fernando fixed up and installed the professional way the mess your client brought you from a fly by night or backyard bob “ installer” I’m glad I misread the title to your video just to know there are decent audio installers out there. Be proud of yourselves guys. Most of what I have seen in my 32 years asa consumer and electrician is that so called installers work. People just worried about the money and not about the customer. Cheers and looking forward to your next video.
I'm probably not going to do this type of DIY myself anytime soon, but I sat here and watched the entire video after trying to find a double din e-350 2007 model install video which i can tell you is a needle in a haystack to find, very informative, very professional, subscribed and will be watching more.
I need to take my car to your stereo shop you guys do an awesome job most stereo shops don’t do a good job anymore 👏😎✌🏻
Outstanding job guys. Customer got a really professional installation. You are OCD with level of detail and it's nice to see.
The customer reactions are price, makes your hard work all worthwhile. 👍🔊🔊
Excellent video! I've only been watching this RUclips channel for a couple weeks, but already the 911 rescue videos are my favorites. Very interesting!
That's what I'm talkin about. Good coverage of your finished project and the customer's reaction. Impressive!
Its such a joy to watch a real expert, just doing his job. Good job Guys
What was rewarding to me was the look he had... that’s a guy that love to hear music. He now can experience it as it was meant to. Awesome build guys very clean look to it.
I've always installed my own systems and only because of everything I've learned from your videos. If you guys were near Dallas, you'd be the only shop touching my cars.
The amount of time and effort that you guys put into this is just amazing. I mean seriously I have never saw a shop take this amount of time and effort into a customers car that wasn't spending thousands of dollars. Great job
WATCHED IT FULLY.. START TO END.. LOVE IT.. DIDNT KNOW ABOUT ALL THOSE I MIGHT NEED WHEN AM PUTTING MY DODGE TOGETHER.. THANKS YALL ..
These guys do a great job! Appreciate the attention to details. Craftsmanship at it’s finest.
First time seeing any of your video's and very top notch work! love the attention to detail and how you take time to explain every step big or small is huge thank you
I'm in the uk and worked for BASS JUNKIES years ago and was shocked at the way the installs where done the attitude was get it in get it gone.. after 12 months i left and setup on my own business
Cheaper installs and a better lasting job. I don't do it anymore went into car diagnostics but its nice to see you guys and I'm laughing here watching you thinking I've been there. The Audio Craze has gone here with subs audio upgrades ps4 installs etc.
love your videos down to earth and honest brilliant
Love your work you should be proud 👍
Much respect from Alaska guys, that customer was smart to get you and Fernando to get him right, y'all are inspiring me to do better installs and keep my game tight thanks for the upload
Another 5 Star Satisfied Customer! Wish I lived close you would be doing all my systems my 4 runner, Tacoma, Chrysler T&C, And my Harleys
Wonderful job guys, I think alot of people forget what the most important part of the job sometimes is, and that is the wow factor you give your client. You gave it. I cant agree with all forms of your install (for example 9 zipties holding rca's in a span of 12" on an amp panel) But regardless, you guys outdid yourselves not only with the customer but for the video as well. Shows the points of interest perfectly, explained very well, and at the end of the day made the recovery job fun. Bravo fellas, I think upcoming installers as well as seasoned professionals can all get takeback from this video, the positivity and the importance of delivering the expectations to the customer, and actually exceeding those expectations.
First and foremost you guys are amazing. This exact same thing happened to me. It was my first time ever using a low level to high level converter (LC7i) and wasnt confident in installing it myself. Paid over $500 to have It installed and it looked exactly like this. Very mad. Been watching your videos for awhile and reinstalled a whole new system myself. Thanks for the honest work you guys do. Not many shops left you can trust👍👍👍
Another great video and a great save. I’ve said it before but I can’t get over your professionalism and eye and ear for details.
Yall were awesome! The consideration you all took into the wiring, fit, and finish was amazing. Ive installed my own on my own cars but that amp mount was easy and nice. People wonder what takes so long to install stereos. Just have them watch this video so they can understand that, especially with newer cars, its more than just slapping a stereo in.
I enjoy watching this video. That customer was super super happy with the end result after being frustrated form the previous install. It all about the customer. Way to go Dean and Fernando!!
This is the video that gave me the guts to crack open my 1998 grand cherokee 5.9 limited and see what the previous owners did when they worked on the stereo. And start the swap over to the system I want in it. Thank you.
On side note I have that same philosophy for every job I do. Some call it being a perfectionist. I call it doing it right the first time
u guys are awesome, the smile on the customer face was priceless. installation the right.
Fantastic to watch someone this passionated about their work ! thumbs up!
Love these types of videos.....omg when you said they used a beaver to make the holes (roflmao)..best installer work on the little details...you guys have earned my respect.
I remember this as part of Dean’s 2 hour video..... it’s amazing to see how dirty they did this guy.... thank god for Dean and Fernando seriously 👍
Good Lord! Why can't your shop be nearer to me? I love that YOU love your job. It's the details that always matter, and you've definitely got that down. I wish you guys continued success.
