Have a great day everyone and keep your head up!
U should watch insomnia
Just to let you know some of your comments are inaudible since I guess YT silenced the soundtrack in places.
Yo so what do you think of the 2 hallway scenes? Luke being hope and Vader being fear. Some videos of them side to side is also cool
Watch the clone wars to get the back story of some of the characters
The music when Luke shows up gives me chills!!!
They guarded the Luke reveal just as well as they guarded the "Baby Yoda" reveal in season one. So glad you weren't spoiled.
They actually had no idea that Luke was gonna be in the show, but ya once they decided they made him a big ass secret that’s why no one knew if he was gonna be the cameo. So props to Jon faverua
When you watch Darth Vader's hallway scene in Rogue One and then this.

@@richierich7229 no lol, luke did what he had to do, the chosen one to bring balance to the force was anakin skywalker.
Makes you kinda see what Anakin would have been like if he hadn't turned

Beautifully said here 😂
This man almost threw up when he saw who it was 😂😂😂
There's a really cute theory that Grogu was in the Jedi Temple at Coruscant when Palpatine issued order 66, and that R2-D2 saved him by letting him climb inside his cargo space. :)
That's cool and all, but I love the idea that while Anakin was killing the Separatist Leaders, choking Padme, fighting Obi-Wan, etc... Grogu is just chilling inside Artoo.
Ming-Na Wen is 57 years old. Let that sink in.
@@BlackDeathThrash bruh that’s Mulan and Agent Melinda May as well. Lol. Why would you even think that?
@@BlackDeathThrash she'd evict you bruh.
CRAZY!!!
Karl Urban and Temura Morrison are from NZ so it makes sense you’d hear that.
Gotta love Ming Na Wen, who has the distinction of voicing a Disney Princess, being in a Marvel show and a Star Wars show. The Disney trifecta right there.
She did *The Hat Trick*

Congrats on not getting spoiled. It's a helluva experience seeing this for the first time.
"It's the thought that counts" , you just got a patreon here. I didn't think Luke's CGI was REALLY bad but noticeably but i didn't let it distract from the moment.
Being honest(and I'm a HUGE SW fan).... the CGI looked really good..... until he started talking. The mouth movements didn't quite work, but dammit, I'm willing to forgive that because they showed the Luke Skywalker we were expecting in Episode VIII. While I understand the whole story about why he was how he was then... it doesn't change the fact that fans had certain expectations. So it was really refreshing to see that he was still "The Hero" we all knew and loved.
@@IggyStardust1967 Yeah, it wasn't perfect. It's possible that maybe deepfaking *might* have worked a bit better, but I think Disney are pushing forwards with the tech they used in Rogue One for Tarkin and Leia. I guess it'll take time to see if it's plateaued or there are significant improvements to come.
My thought is "they can fix it." So between now and S3 they can go back and tweak it.
So agree. It was the thought that counted here and they can absolutely fix this later.
@@IggyStardust1967 The mouth movements - I mean, there weren’t a *lot* of mouth movements, maybe not as many as there are when people normally talk, but the shape of the mouth does correspond to the words being spoken imho
Everyone Geeked out when LUKE SKYWALKER walked in, dominating Everyone. Still get chills. Good seeing you James. Stay safe out there
Rewatching this season and season 1 through your eyes made me appreciate the brilliance of the show even more. Thank you!
Thank you for the awesome comment!
So the whole Dark Saber dilemma between Bo and Din makes a little more sense if you've seen Star Wars: Rebels, which takes place like a decade or more before The Mandalorian. In Rebels one of the main characters, Sabine Wren, defeats the Dark Saber's wielder in combat to obtain it. Believing Bo Katan to be the better choice to lead Mandalore, Sabine gifts her the ancient weapon, and Bo accepts it. Bo Katan forgoes tradition. What happens after that? Well, Mandalore falls and it's people are scattered. All under Bo Katan's leadership.
With that context in mind, I feel like Bo Katan believes she failed her people, that she wasn't a strong leader. A few clans were present when she accepted the Dark Saber but they were by no means all of them. Maybe other clans didn't respect her claim, leading to an infighting and thus an ununified Mandalore, making them ripe for defeat by Gideon and his forces.
That's how I see it anyway. The show definitely could've explained it better for people who only watch it and not any of the others.
I dound this funny cause she's mocking Din Dkarin because he's always wearing his helmet and keeps tradition, but at the same time can't accept the dark saber because of tradition
@@Joetorres3 It's politics. Bo Katan lost the support of the traditionalist warrior clans and she needs that if she is to take back Mandalore and rule it. She needs a big, loud appeal-to-tradition. She has to get the Dark Saber in a big, loud, symbolic way. Defeating Moff Gideon in single combat could have done it since all the Mandalorian survivors hate him for what he did on Mandalore. If word got out that she took the Saber from Din without a fight or after a dishonorable fight, it would undermine her position farther. Din is a Mandalorian hero for defeating Moff Gideon and recovering the Dark Saber. If Bo acts against him, it would be very bad PR for her. Her only political option is to have Din lose the Saber to some enemy and then Bo can come in and recover it legitimately.
Watching your reaction to this ep is like sharing the moment with a good friend, as always on this channel. For myself I can't stop gushing about how they spool out the hints as to who the jedi is. You know, anyone could be flying an xwing, wearing a dark cloak, then you see that it's a green blade, he's wearing one glove, and you have all the pieces you need to make the reveal feel like a reward for paying close attention. They could easily have made it so obvious that hyping up the reveal would end up silly but they nailed it.
The comment about the dark troopers. You don't have to nuke it, you just have to... Luke it.
Ba-dum tss
Very good.
“I’m a hallway badass, like my father before me.”
I highly recommend "The Expanse" on Amazon Prime. Definitely the best SciFi series by far.
Or Firefly, if you like space westerns.
I endorse this statement.
@@gawainethefirst or Westworld for sci fi westerns
Agreed with both things. Absolutely recommended and by far the best SciFi series, not even close.
well ... rather talking about SciFi in space ...
The thought that goes through your head when you realise that R2 and Grogu remember each other from before Order 66.
Can we just appreciate just how well the music in this show is
Catching up on your videos, James, and I'm watching your excited reaction... and it occurs to me that A LOT of work went into getting YOU that juiced. The creative lore that started decades ago, the innovative special effects used to bring that lore to life, the writing that gave the characters depth, the acting that gave weight to the writing, the direction that produced a vision, the editing that stitched a cohesive story together, the executive producers who financed the films, the caterers who fed the cast and crew, the set designers who brought fantasy realms to life... and so much more! For the masses, yes. But also individually for you and me. The reveal when that hood is pulled back gave everyone that jolt of happiness is the culmination of an absurd amount of talent and work.
Bo Katan: Shitting on Mando for sticking to his tradition by refusing to remove his helmet.
Also Bo Katan: Doesn't take the dark saber from Mando because of tradition.
different clans have different traditions ...
Her own opinions count little when it comes to ruling. If the other clans don't accept her as a leader because of how she got the darksaber, she might just as well not have it.
If different clans have different traditions, why the holier-than-thou attitude towards Mando?
@@timc9789 This is why she isn't ready to rule Mandalore yet. She isn't accepting of all the different Mandalorian clans. She needs to learn to do that if she is going lead ALL Mandalorians. She needs to grow more. Quite frankly Mando has proved to be more adaptable and accepting when exposed to new Mandalorian creeds once he found out that there different creeds.
Now, I didn't watch the toons, but everything I read says Bo was given the darksaber by Sabine. What's the difference here?
Good stuff and this was awesome to ride this series with you 🙏
100% man!! What an awesome journey! Cheers to more!
The Reveal and Luke’s theme music playing as stands there being recognized….then Artoo’s appearance to compound the feel!!!
This is the 2nd reaction video of yours that I've watched, I had to see for myself your reaction, you didn't disappoint...
I definitely cried this episode, because for me this was more than 35 years in the making, as my childhood returned in a level of elation that is immeasurable.
I've seen that reacue seen a thousand times and I *STILL* get goosebumps! ❤❤❤😊😎
Yeah, when Fennic dipped the blaster, my son is like, "Ok, so she's faster than light now, faster than laser." lol
"Cara why did you shoot him in the face?"
"Well I wasn't going to, but he kind of talked me into it."
I cried like a baby during this episode.
The Luke in this seems like an unlocked character shown during the movie sequences in video games-how he interacts and speaks or how little
When I tell you I cried when I saw his ship. The best reveal I’ve ever experienced!!
That Bobba theme music gets me so juiced! Great reaction vid!
When I watched the episode with my husband I started to freak out when the X-wing arrived and he was like you with the: "what's happening," and I was basically in tears from the moment the hooded figure appeared.
Jon and Dave sent my childhood hero back like a porcelain kinsugi cup. The broken cracks suddenly filled with gold.
Watching this was like re-living this amazing scene all over again - huge applause! I think some people figured it was Luke as soon as they saw his ship, but not being totally Star Wars-savvy, the reveal blew me away. Sooo looking forward to you watching Book of Boba if that's on your list!
Brilliant job mate. Keep going. For me, this was the biggest surprise since the Sixth Sense. To think that in 2020-21 they could keep this a secret is remarkable. No one saw it coming. Filmed a year beforehand on a closed set. I love that it becomes so obvious when it happens, leaving us all feeling stupid for not expecting it. The whole timeline was a big reveal as much as Luke, and it's like... oh, of course. I loved your reaction and if you check out more, you'll see grown men crying over this unexpected and extremely welcome reveal. Thank you.
I just realized that the guy who plays the mad doctor was the same actor who had the love scene with the Gin (Jin?) in American Gods. The only time I cried in a sex scene.
They make me so sad in the best way as a couple, I’m glad someone else recognised him
Also a Platoon generally consists of 20-50 soldiers so Luke just went absolutely fucking beast mode on like half of a hundred DarkTroopers 😂🔥
It just never gets old watching a reaction to Luke coming back. At this point in responding, I’m sure someone reminded you Jaba died. It’s all good. Loved the reaction!
When I saw Mando holding the dark saber, I was like just do a thumb war. The biggest of trials!
I see that a lot of people were expecting Ahsoka to be the one to answer Grogu's call, but never understood why they would think that since she already had Grogu in front of her and turned him away to go to that temple to call someone else - she's going to answer the call she initiated herself?
Return of THE Jedi.
Note to self: Never get caught by a Skywalker in a hallway. XD
bo katan took the dark saber last time from sabine wren and even though we don't know how she lost it, it is presumed she couldn't unite mandalore because she didn't win the saber in combat. she more than likely doesn't want to repeat that.
Shocker of all shockers, the Jedi that shows up, is literally the only living Jedi confirmed in the cannon, at this point in the timeline.
I'm just impressed that you managed not to swear like a sailor watching that. I certainly did. :-D
Yes, it will sound like Billy Butcher. Both actors are New Zealanders and (although i do love him to death) Karl Urban's 'East end of London' accent is extremely New Zealandish.
First time seeing one of your videos, and your reaction to seeing luke is exactly how I reacted with a little “uhh”. I love it. Good job man. Keep up the good work.
Hey man, if you're caught up with the MCU past Avengers: Endgame, I highly recommend WandaVision. It's an insane combination of classic sitcoms, superhero stuff and almost borderline horror, yet it all works. Plus the filmmaking is stellar. Right up your alley bro.
Yeah what he said !
Also Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany are way too good than they need to be for a show like this.
Wandavision is incredible, can't wait for next week
I think he will enjoy how they applied the different filmmaking elements from the different eras of tv
@@freemanvs9970 exactly what i was thinking man
Hope you liked this episode I sure did man I was one of the folks who cried during this episode
Favorite moment was seeing the green lightsaber appear on that screen. :D
If the lone X-wing and hooded cloak's not enough of a tip off: here's the iconic GREEN lightsaber!
The actor that plays Boba Fett and all the clones is from New Zealand and so is Billy Kutcher from the Boys which makes sense why they sound the same
You´re right, He sounds like Butcher. Little bit of an Ossi accent^^
At last! Quality video, sir. Keep up the good work.
Love your content my friend, keep it comin!
Pretty sure the Dark Troopers were in communication with eachother. The "punchers" stopped because they knew there was a bigger threat coming behind them.
Just a thought. R2-D2 never got a memory wipe. It is possible, even likely that he and Grogu (Baby Yoda) know each other. Which does explain their reaction to each other.
Excellent reaction, man!
Think about how many emotions you experienced during the episode.....and then think about how QUICKLY you went through each one. One right after the other. Anxiety, terror, confusion, sheer joy and then gut-wrenching grief. THAT'S filmmaking.
Oh yeah....then they drop R2 in there as well. Now go watch some other reactors and how they all collectively lost their minds. It was the greatest moment in Star Wars, in MY opinion.
Once again, EXCELLENT reaction!
Great episode. Everything I had hoped.
(BSG would like their Cylons back, though. And their cool fighter launches.)
I had wondered if that was intentional with Katee Sackhoff in this episode. "Frakkin' toasters".
You do know that BSG (the original series) borrowed design elements of the Cylon centurions from the Imperial Storm Troopers? Thus the circle is complete.
Now this is what we’ve been waiting for
I found your channel because of your Good Time reaction, now you’ve done all of Mando 👏 What a journey
As far as testing Boba, my guess is she thought he was just a clone trooper, not one raised as a Mandalorian.
There you go bro what a season
The Slave-I starts firing on the shuttle...
Me- “And here we go...WEEEEEE !!!✋🤚
Man, your reactions are the best. I can’t stop watching them. Big love from Russia!❤️❤️❤️
Great reaction!
I don't know about you, but the last fifteen minutes of this episode made me feel better than any Star Wars moments since the original trilogy.
The voices sound similar because both Karl Urban (Billy Butcher) and Temuera Morrison (Jango & Boba Fett) are from New Zealand.
Luke being the one called almost makes up for Last Jedi onwards lol. Also mad love for the Final Fantasy soundtrack shout out, that game always has an epic soundtrack.
16:51 yup knew from the git, I'm surprised no one mentions in the comments the time line of the Mandalorian, all this is happening between episodes 6 & 7 of the movie's. Loved the reaction but if this was cool and the last reaction I saw you do you got lots of material out the since the 70's 👍🏼😎
I have waited a long time for this moment.
If you haven't already seen them, watch some of the other reactions to this season. The finale has grown men weeping.
“It looks funny but it’s the thought that counts” 👍
I really like the theory that R2 may have known Grogu and maybe even helped him escape the Jedi Temple during Order 66
the mandalorian is roughly set five years after returning the Jedi so yes this would have been when Luke was absolutely in his prime a Jedi master and at this point in time he's actually getting ready to start his school ( the new Jedi Order) the one that Kylo destroys in the sequels if they still keep it that. if you would have watched any of the reactions from other people at least 90% of them guys girls and all were in tears during the final moments when Luke showed up when Grogu got taken away with Luke just absolutely balling like babies and that does include myself and I'm a 53-year-old Star wars fan. ✌️🙏
I love seeing peoples 5eacrion to Luke showing up. I geeked out when I saw the x wing, then lost it when I saw the green light saber
17:40
I’m glad you understand my sentiments. I swear I thought FF the moment I heard the music.
Dont worry about seeing Ahsoka again, she's getting her own D+ show.
What you don't realize is skywalker said Ben was his first student but here grogu is ,what does that mean for the new films
This episode made my geek meter blow up! Most didn't think they would use Luke, but it made the most sense being The Ultimate Jedi of this time period.
FYI: Last time Bo Katan makes sense if you watch Rebeks.
My favorite part has to be the when the green lightsaber showed up. I had my suspicion that the Jedi would be Luke when the X-Wing flew by, I hope it would be Luke, but it was like "oh man would they really do this?", but when the green lightsaber entered I knew for sure. I grew up watching the OT (300+ views), so the green lightsaber is quite engraved in my mind..
If you haven't seen it yet, I would LOVE to see you react to Dr. Who! Such an amazing show. Loved the video as always. Keep it up!
I'm amazed you haven't been spoiled on this yet. Great job as usual good sir.
Bo Katan is conflicted. There are Mandalorians who don't accept the way Bo got the Darksaber in the first place (someone found it and handed it to her) and we also have to remember Moff Gideon was, up until this point, in possession of the the Darksaber. Did he get it by defeating Bo in combat? So she got it in a way that was illegitimate and lost it in the traditional way. She technically HAS to get it back by combat. Mando has in essence "pulled the sword form the stone" and become the rightful ruler of Mandalore.
this has got to be such a tough one to keep spoiler free these days. i was seeing it everywhere the morning after it aired.
Imho, this episode did so much justice to the Star Wars universe I grew up in the early 80's. Luke's character is redeemed at last.
This episode was so good.
WandaVision definitely! From a Marvel lore and film/TV making standpoint it's top notch and ridiculously creative.
"Are you a Jedi?" Luke is *THE* Jedi. This took place about 5 years after Star Wars Episode 6 Return of the Jedi so he already killed that creature.
I’ve been looking forward to this...
Everyone: immediately knew it was Luke
James: WHOOOOOO IS THIS!?
I will say that I didn’t think it would be Luke - I was so surprised when watching it for the first time. I didn’t think they’d reintroduce Luke in a tv show - I thought they’d bring his character back in something bigger, like in a movie
The OG Jedi.
Now you learn who answered Grogu's message
Hey I've seen you comment on Nici's channel too. You got good taste my guy ✌
Great series reaction! 🔥
Some times I wish he'd look at the names of the directors of these episodes. Peyton Reed and Robert Rodriguez are big names from a film making perspective, and explain some of the cool shot choices and a set pieces in some of the episodes! But otherwise, love the reactions ;D
Finally I was waiting for this one!!
Lol what that thing called Luke 🤣 😅
The Sauce is Strong with this one...
My favorite moment was Luke's reveal. I know, I know, cheap, obvious, and corny, but as a lifelong SW fan from the days of the OT (the 80s), nothing compares to seeing Young Luke and the soft reprise of "Binary Sunset" after 37 years. It's just too goddamn powerful for someone my age who's been on this journey this long. It was the only bright spot in all of 2020 b/c the election was too horrible for even a happy ending to make it worthwhile. Seeing Luke reminded me what hope feels like.
What? Green light saber, one glove?
That's ok, I enjoyed your reaction. One young lady literally screamed at that reveal. It's a good thing I wasn't wearing headphones. 😏
What to watch next? How about Falcon & Winter Soldier?
I'm personally not aware of any season 3 that's been announced as of yet
I think he acted like that because in that pilot’s perspective the rebels killed his friends and family when they blew up the Death Star.
Class: Skywalker
Strength: Hallways
Weakness: High Ground
Dislikes: Sand
Special Ability: Change sides
I thought it might happen in season 3 or 4. I didn’t expect it in season 2.
