I live in Maryland. Accidentally planted zoysia in my front townhouse lawn because I had no idea what I was doing. It’s growing pretty well. I’m afraid it’s going to take over my neighborhood LOL especially if most ‘northern’ people don’t like it. But my lawn is finally green. I can’t bare to start over this late in Oct.

Fusillade II will kill Bermuda - Rhizome, stolon, and root - in Zoysia without harming the Zoysia at all. I've begun converting my trashed Bermuda/weeds lawn to Emerald Zoysia using plugs and seed, here in SW TN. Total nood chose all the High-Difficulty settings for this game of lawn rehab. As the Zoysia thickens, I spray a bit of Fusillade II at the "front line" for a foot or so, and the Zoysia s l o w l y fills in the voids. The Bermuda will always try to fight back, of course. You've really helped me over this past year. I hoe this returns the favor!
Fusilade II (Fluazifop-P-butyl) works well to get rid of Bermuda in a Zoysia lawn, but it does take time.
Mix it with Triclopyr

You may have to kill all of the Bermuda and centipede so that it does not compete with your Zoysia
$80 an acre for Certainty isn't bad for spotting trouble spots. Celcius in the mix is pretty effective on doveweed...

I have Empire Zoysia, it's nice when it's doing well, but way more maintenance then I was originally told! Weeds are a little crazy right now. July 7th.

Some of those patches that are small will have to be pulled by hand. I have all those weeds in my yard, but its not over run. So when I see them, i just pull them up. I have applied weed killer earlier in the month and it has been effective, but when its just a small area, i pull then
I am glad I found ur channel! I live just North of Birmingham in the town of Hayden. My yard is a 10 yr old established Meyer Zoysia. The yard is kept at a standard 3 inch height bc I like the real plush look. My major change for this yr is to put the yard on a 4 day cut schedule. I cannot wait to see the results!

bermuda in zoysia...Fusilade at a rate of about 4.5 to 6 ounces to the ACRE with a methylated seed oil, as the seed oil will also work on killing the bermuda !! don't overlap or double spray !! i think the rate in a pump up garden sprayer is about 8 drops per gallon.. may have to repeat about every 4 weeks..
the only experience i have is with Meyer Z-52 zoysia
The weed in question at 6:50 is Tall Flatsedge. (Cyperus eragrostis). AKA Tall nutgrass, Umbrella sedge, American galingale.

Thanks for your video. I put in new empire zoysia sod early June. Last year I noticed dollar weeds in the fall, chickweed, and penny crest weed as common weeds in the previous uncared for lawn and I used dimension and others which cleaned up my 99% weeds lawn. Will certainty and Celsius help as a spot treatment for the new zoysia next year?
I just hit my palisades with certainty/Celsius mix for kylinga. Other than that, it does a great job of choking out the weeds. Now my centipede is another story.
How low are you mowing Palisades Zoysia?
I’m mowing it with a Cal Trimmer 7 blade at about 3/4 to 1 inch. I also applied some TNex last week for the first time ever.
Fusilade II is a selective bermudagrass control for Zoysia. Very potent, max dosage is .12 ounce per K. Read label and do some test apps before applying to client yards.

My situation is that I live in Puerto Rico have always hot weather but we are getting allot of rain lately my problem is my lawn is Zoysia Marcella and it was beautiful month ago even people that passed around my house ask what’s the secret, but lately my lawn is getting a lot of wild Bermuda grass and torpedo grass and my lawn is not looking good what can I do? Please help
I have about 27k feet. What do you think of doing one pallet of sod, then slowly plugging from that after it is established?
It will take a long time with zoysia. It is slow

@@lawncarelife I was told, 670 a case, 3 1 gallon bottles, but after I broke the mix rate down per gallon, it's really not that bad, 1 Oz of product per 2 gallon of spot treatment would be 128 fills

How do you deal with the thatch like that shown at 9:38?
Maybe bagging the first couple of cuts each year would help to get rid of a lot of the dormant grass instead of it falling down and becoming thatch
That's not thatch it's just dread grass/clippings. This is what thatch looks like: blogs.k-state.edu/turf/tag/thatch/ Btw, zoysia should be bagged, it takes forever to break down and the dead grass just keeps building up under the canopy.
