I noticed that many use non-original binaries to make more beautiful layouts, for now I only use original LEGO because then in the videos you can see the difference
How often does lego change the track design? I never had a train as a kid but I started stocking up on tracks. I just hope they don't become obsolete like hotwheel tracks.
They haven’t changed the new style in almost 20 years. I doubt they will change the new style unless they go bigger. The old styles changed because they had power in the rails but the sizing has all been the same for many years If they change it I would be shocked And there will always be used ones for resale online
Hi there! I got the Christmas village set last year, which included a trolley but no track. How many straight/curve sets do I have to buy to make a complete loop? And what are the dimensions of said loop?
Sorry for the late reply but yes 16 curves or at least 3 of the track pack sets. Check out the video I just posted. It will really help you FUN Lego Train Track LAYOUTS for the Holidays ruclips.net/video/vWjDJod9IrE/видео.html It is 28” to 30” in diameter

I have a 2-8-4 loco and the drivers are flanged, blind, blind, and flanged. They struggle on switches and i was wondering if you could suggest any wider or better switches so they dont clip on the alignment bit?
I just bought my first Lego engine today, a Maersk Engine, do all the engines run on the same track? Does Lego make extra long straight pieces. If purchase two of each of these packs would that be a good start?
I believe you need 4 of these for a complete loop. I have another video on my channel that shows different loops you can make with these track kits and I say how many you need and I have details in the description. Most engines fit this track. Anything from 2006 to now will fit this with the exception of the large hogwarts express. I hope this helps. Congrats on your first Lego Engine! That one is a fun set that I also have a video on
@@leggomyjameso6082 I bought track from Lego and they limited me to three of the packs of track. I just don’t get them sometimes. I bought two packs of switches (you can never have too many of them). They come with four curves each so I should have my loop. Can I use the current motor system in the Maersk or do I have to use Power Up. Only Chinese copies of these on EBay from what I can see. I can purchase a modern train and give the rest of the pieces to my children. Appreciate your response, love your videos, and I am going to look for your Maersk Train video.
I'm 62 I thought I would start a Lego train world. I was wondering I see plastic rails and metal. Which is better and can you run any Lego train on both of them and where do you find train Lego parts and track to do scratch builds. Thank you
Hello, sorry for the late reply. You can use any train on the metal or plastic rail. They are all about the same size for wheel spacing. The metal is nice because you can run the 9V on it. The RC trains can be run on any of the track types at least the metal and the current plastic track. There is a 14V train track but it was only sold in the UK. I have some of that and those trains can only be run on that track. To buy track, I usually find bulk lots on eBay but I have a Bricklink store to sell the parts I don’t need. If you are looking for some to start I would recommend an online auction because you can get a lot of track at a lower price. Then if you want specific parts I like Bricklink and sometimes Lego has them in their pick a brick section. Have fun! Lego train worlds are awesome
Yes they will work with the new RC plastic track. You can connect them but if you use the old power functions you need all metal rail for the circuit to connect and be complete. If you are using battery packs and remote controls you can mix and match and it will not matter
I have two Lego trains. They are both cargo, and I got some cool ideas for like a train yard. 1. Gravel. All. I would need is 1x1 studs that are gray and just put them under the track. Since I’m making a little job site building tracks I could have a skidsteer laying gravel or sum and the reason I came up with the stud idea is cause the curves. If y’all have any suggestions for my Lego train yard I’ll be happy to review them
@@leggomyjameso6082 yeah basically imma be posting my progress but, imma put little machinery and stuff and move stuff around so it looks like they are building stuff. And I’ll also be putting the Lego 2022 train station but I’ll put it in like different walls and roofs and stuff. When I get all my stuff I’ll need I’ll do it each by day and day and after that I’ll turn it into a little stop motion or sum. The reason I came up with gravel is cause the round tracks that don’t correctly fit with the baseplate.
hi that new fake lego track is very good it's selling very well we know the ones i think there's 3 lot's making it how the new 9v eu one is ace just the cost it's a man's toys like recording gear
Ah gotcha! Good to know. I have stuck with Lego brand for now. I’m sure if I want to do something epic with track I’ll entertain getting off brand track
It would have been a better video if you showed us the oval switch build instead of just explaining it. I'm better at learning by seeing rather than hearing
Noted! I will do a video soon showing multiple layouts. This video is a tad older and I am always looking back at my old videos seeing how I can improve them. Thank you for the feedback. I’m sorry I don’t have a better video to send you a link to
You can never have to much track. 😁
I could not agree more!!
Same with clone troopers.
Except for curved ones...
Too* 🤓☝️
2:50 deflect tracks are also to help make it so you can have some very weird types of tracks and also it puts your train back on the track
I also find myself needing more wheels all the time
I recently got the new passenger train (60337) with the expansion pack. This video really came in handy!
I’m glad this helped. That is a fun train to have
Thank you for this super helpful video!
