Hi there i have a question my train from this set 7740 the middle wheels on the train motor don't turn when the train is running on the track do you know why?

I feel like it is a bit scummy to have the blue carriage come in one set that has an engine you might already have but only have one carriage actually be there. Just sacrifice the tender and 'station' to get another carriage. Then you get a train that looks right instead of what you actually get

The 2018 version was a lot better for me. There was one carriage but it was fairly bulky (and had the tubing at each end). It had an attempt at pistons, wheel splashers, dual whistles and a fully printed smokebox door. I suppose the newer one has some slightly better shaping in some parts and a good station build, but it’s just too small (you can even fit a figure in the cab even though it has a driver figure).

You should put a 1 by 7 lift arm on the 1 by 9 lift arm with 2 linckers

The new one wins by default for simply having 2 carts instead of one. IMO a train only including 1 cart is unacceptable

Very cool set! I had a few sets from late 60s or early 70s and they can with plastic trays holding the parts and for storage after disassembly.

My level of build 😏. Would watch a video of you making that set fancier, with period pieces if possible.

Very cool! I love the Santa Fe Super Chief sets. I too have 4 cars and two locomotives, though I converted my locomotives from EMD F units to ALCO FA units, with a modification to the nose of each locomotive. Cool to see a review of these sets!! Thanks.

Great review of 7740. Have been picking up yellow and red doors ad yellow train windows to build up my moc version of 7740, which includes a yellow red version of the MetroLiner observation car. Take care!!

I just bought my first Lego engine today, a Maersk Engine, do all the engines run on the same track? Does Lego make extra long straight pieces. If purchase two of each of these packs would that be a good start?

I am looking for this set and sealed it looks like it is starting at the $500.00 mark (if the box is unopened and is not smashed. Wish I was collecting Lego when this came out. Would have bought two sets to run with two engines, one powered and one dummy. Would give me twice the number of cars to run behind it as well. Can the motor pull an extra engine and four cars or would that be too heavy? Wish Lego would make more American style engines steam/diesel with motors. Great video, enjoyed it a lot.
