Too late! I allready watched it. How do I get my 4 minutes back now? On second thought, I dont want to take someones word for it when they are so horrible at math. Calendar in the wallet was dated 1944 + Video is titled "71 year old wallet" + you posted "3 months ago" and the year is 2018= you not so good at this math thing!
I was doing some renovation work on my house which was built in 1956. While redoing the bathroom, I removed the drywall in the bathroom and found a pastry wrapping with a picture of Howdy Doody & Buffalo Bob Smith on it (as a testimonial). The plumber who roughed in the bathroom must have had that for lunch one day, way back then. Still have it.
I guess RUclips pays out by minutes of video that is watched. This was a complete non-story. "Hey, we found a very old wallet that belonged to xxx and we didn't really want to find him or any of his relatives, the end". 10 seconds. :)
I just researched this and the original owner was found near Des Moines, Iowa at the age of 85, or 84. He was touched to be reunited with his old billfold. Des Moines is not far from the town of Nevada where the billfold was found.
Rumor has it that they finally found him a couple of months later and handed it to him..and with tears in his eyes he opened it a said...where's the fuckin money !!!
"Sloan did a little detective work and found that Clare McIntosh graduated from Colo High School in 1948. He found out Clare’s older sister is a resident of Windsor Manor in Nevada. This channel never has the whole story. Claire was happy to get his wallet back. About as happy as you would be to get something fairly useless but a little interesting back. Google "Clare McIntosh" and "wallet" if you haven't wasted enough time yet.
For those of you who are wondering, like myself, the owner of the wallet is still alive. He's 85 years old and since the following Monday after the news report, the wallet is in his possession. I had to Google it to find the outcome of the story. FYI, this happened back in February of 2016.
2 men find an old, child's wallet. The owner's name is Clare McIntosh and they didn't return it. Flippin' creative writers *REALLY* drag these videos out.
It's terrible losing your wallet, what a hassle not only replacing everything but the risk of identity theft and cleaning up that mess can be grueling. Some items are also irreplaceable.
Simple trace. Check the computerized 1940 US census for the area or even scan for it, nationally. Then check the Social Security Death Register. Between the two you'll know whether he's dead or alive and his last known zip code. If it appears that he is still alive, check for the name by his age and you'll come up with a few listings. Claire MacIntosh is not a common name.
No, you're the idiot spacemann. There are only 34 men named Clare McIntosh in the US. Only one of them lives in Iowa. He was 86 when located, shortly after the wallet was found. Today, I found him myself in 5 minutes and confirmed he was the right man through other online sources. Clare got his wallet back in 2016. If he was dead, then I would have dug him up just as easily utilizing the Social Security Death Register and the 1930 and 1940 US census for Iowa. I've traced hundreds of people and their ancestors back through centuries in the US and Europe. So know what you're talking about, before you scream out stupidity IN CAPS.

nvader88 condoms back then were made of buckskin. To thick to carry in your wallet. That's why they carried that in a possible bag. Because it was possible you might use it. Plus those were made to last , over and over again. Meant to be used more than once. Unlike the cheap ones of today.😂
A clinic on how to make a 30-second story last over 4 minutes, with no satisfactory conclusion. Also, the photos weren't synced properly with the narration, it's like the photos were always one shot behind. But the click-baity title got me to watch it, so they won.
This shouldn't be a story about the "panic" of losing ones wallet. This should have been a story about the wallet being reunited with the owner. Where is the video of the owner getting his wallet back after 71 years?
What do you mean what is the chase it doesn't have one it's just an educational video it's important to know details about things if you use no details in school you won't get good grades if you don't put the good details in the news if your news reporter people won't listen to you or watch you people like details always have and always will
Why make a video without a conclusion to the story? It'd be like selling a book with the last few chapters missing. Just get the whole story, then upload. sorry, but this is a thumbs down and I'd almost call it click bait.
The story is true, but it's not complete in this video. It's just a read up of the original source webpage, however they did not write the full story in text on that webpage and instead made a video the reader would have to see to find out what happened. The video by Did You Know is missing that part and we never really get to know what happened, except they suddenly say, "It's fascinating to think there was a time when Clare’s family could be reached by simply dialing “8.” How cool is it that he was able to retrieve his long-lost possession?". The story of the telephone number 8 not included in the article, only in the original source video. But below the video they write how fascinating it was, and that text is included in this video so everything just sounds confusing, we're suddenly told that there’s a guy named Clarie, who once could be reached by dialing 8, and that he got his wallet back.
Really cool story but I had to have so much patience watching this video, the pics were so delayed. Seeing the food ration stamps from WWII still sitting in that wallet all this time was really cool though
Rebecca Whiteway It's because you have the attention span of a gnat. That's the price your generation is paying for their ignorance. Each generation has a price to pay.
I was thinking that the guy who lost the ration stamps in this wallet had probably starved to death, but the plot twisted, and I was disappointingly wrong...
Yes and still there wasn’t enough information to make this video interesting as it had advertised. Where was the guy? Did they find him? Did they find any of his family? There was no mention of money in the wallet! How much money? Did they keep it? Such a lengthy video and at the end it left me on the satisfied!
Many boy and girls names sound similar: Gene / Jean....Michael(Fr: pronounced Michelle) / Michelle.... Marion / Marian....Clare / Clair....Dana / Dana....Francis / Francis....and more I don't remember at this time.
Crystal OO wow, you should be the narrator of this. I mean “they found this name on the inside, definitely the guy who lost it” wow, brilliant commentary there.
Kind of drives me crazy they never found him. Even if he was dead they could still return it. They bury people in pants don't they ? Well there you are just find were he's bured and dig him up and stuff the wallet in his pants pocket and cover him up. Problem solved.
"Sloan did a little detective work and found that Clare McIntosh graduated from Colo High School in 1948. He found out Clare’s older sister is a resident of Windsor Manor in Nevada. And he found out that Clare McIntosh is alive and well and living in Runnells; he was about 15 years old when he lost his wallet."
SO... WHAT HAPPENED?!?!?! Anyway, I love the "olden days" and I wish I found this wallet, that's so cool!! I'm young still but that doesn't stop me from wanting to live back in the day. 😍😍
I found a wallet outside the grocery store. It had $110.00 in it. I brought it to the service desk in the grocery store. Just as I was doing so a man came up to the desk asking if anyone had found a wallet. I handed him the wallet and he said thank you. I had just spent my last ten dollars in the store and was not doing real well at the time. I could have really used that money.
Hell i wanted to know if there was any MONEY IN IT! and they didnt say a single THING about that! WHY NOT??? Period cash from that era would be collectors items for SURE! even a 5 dollar bill from 1944 would be worth about a thousand bucks now....
Any bills would be silver certificates. They are not redeemable in silver anymore. Any increase in value would be in curiosity value, as they were never rare.
I had a wallet returned to me after between 5 and 10 years. It had fallen behind a store shelf and was only found when the store was renovated. To answer the narrator's question - yes, I did go on using it until I lost it again.
Just FYI, click bait titles are a violation of the RUclips Community Guidelines. What on earth is the "huge" surprise found in the wallet? *This is absolutely ridiculous!*
Lol if anyone in Nevada, Iowa heard you say the town name, they would get so pissed. They would say,” it’s Nah-VAY-duh. We were a town before Nevada was a state” omg couldn’t stand it when they would tell me that
That the whole story? I was expecting to hear the guy say how he lost it.....at least. Instead it's a guy talking like a Charlie the cougar Disney story.
It would have been nice to actually SEE the owner of the wallet, as he is today....thought that would be happening since they said they were looking for and then found the person.
It's called sensationalistic bullshit--trying to make it sound more surprising than it really is. Clair McIntosh was apparently still alive at the ripe old age of 87, but nobody famous or important or anything. This video was a major fail.
Well, maybe he didn't like "Clarence." Also, these days Clare is considered a girls name, but wasn't then... and till mid-century "Leslie" was also a mans name. Regarding the street - I don't know - you'll have to ask him.
Gabriel Hamilton...
This is an exciting story, however, I felt a big part of the story would be where or how they found the owner too. I wonder if he was coherent enough to realize or remember this wallet and maybe if it was because he lived in that old bldg or maybe went to Boy Scout meetings there. Maybe he even had pictures of what the town and the building looked like then too since there is a time capsule element to this. Thanks though for sharing! Very enjoyable!
"Losing your wallet can make it difficult to buy things, pay for groceries, drive to work" -paraphrase. Anyone who did not know that information, keep watching. Otherwise, make sure you have watched EVERY other video on RUclips first.
This video sucks! They don't show the end! If you do a search for Clare Macintosh, you'll see that they found the guy. He's 85 years old! There's a video showing them returning the wallet to Clare.
There was an news item some years back.I coudn't remember which year about a message in a bottle. Apparently it was thrown into the ocean some two hundreds ago!
There's 4minutes & 17 seconds of my life I'll never get back !!! these stories that don't have an ending really are waste of time
😂🤣 wasted time clicking the video 😂
The narrator sure knows how to go around in circles.
SignatureBeatz
Lol...Yesss...just get to the point already.... He had me in so much suspense😬😬
SignatureBeatz
And for what....he didn't even said if they found the owner...or a relative.....
Sounds like he's a scammer...
The narrator sounds like a scammer and a manipulator.
SignatureBeatz lol
Stumbled upon a wallet from 1750 last summer while working in the archives... it’s crazy to hear this story make 70 years sound mind-blowing.
So 71 years ago Claire was a boy's name? That is some discovery you've got there.

Catholic?
John Wayne's real name was Marion.
Clare is also a male name today.......
True
I knew a Claire Tritt.
Talk about being led on. this video takes forever to say that the wallet belongs to someone who has not been found yet.

Thanks for letting us know. That way I didn't waste any more time on this piece of crap. Appreciate your warning!
Very honest people well done I'm so glad the owner of the walet is still alive
He was still alive and the wallet was returned to him. He is 85 years old.
To save you 4 minutes a 7 seconds: "50 year old wallet found. Owner name on ID in wallet. Owner status unknown."
Wallet returned. States it in the video.

I don't know why it took so long to tell viewers how old the wallet was and who it belonged to.... like did it really need to be almost 5 minutes?
Adrian Daniels are u dumb it's 71 years old
Duh, I knew that from the title. I'm critiquing the way the video was done.
Adrian Daniels
I guess RUclips pays out by minutes of video that is watched. This was a complete non-story.
"Hey, we found a very old wallet that belonged to xxx and we didn't really want to find him or any of his relatives, the end". 10 seconds. :)
True and another thing that was annoying was the commentary being one step ahead of the pictures
story could have been summed up in a minute and a half.
beerandviolence when you need to extend your essay to hit your word limit
Am I the only one that could actually SMELL the old musty mildew of this wallet & pics? What a find! Happy its back with its owner😉
OH BOI A PIECE OF PAPER FROM 1944!!!! OH BOIS MY DAYS WHAT A FIND!!!!
seriously, i expected more.
"Looked like it was from decades earlier." Oh, you mean the WWII ration stamps weren't good indicators?
Good on you guys for being so honest!!!!!

Roman Torres *TRIGGERED*
DevGod ..hmmmm!
This was so slow I put the speed at 2
Lol I almost fell asleep thanks for the advice 😂👍
If you cant handle it just live without internet
Lol if anyone in Nevada, Iowa heard you say the town name, they would get so pissed. They would say,” it’s Nah-VAY-duh. We were a town before Nevada was a state” omg couldn’t stand it when they would tell me that
The real question should've been 'did it have any money'😁
That the whole story? I was expecting to hear the guy say how he lost it.....at least. Instead it's a guy talking like a Charlie the cougar Disney story.
It would have been nice to actually SEE the owner of the wallet, as he is today....thought that would be happening since they said they were looking for and then found the person.
Why was it a shock of who's Wallet it belonged to? You made it sound like it was a very important person or celebrity or something.
It's called sensationalistic bullshit--trying to make it sound more surprising than it really is. Clair McIntosh was apparently still alive at the ripe old age of 87, but nobody famous or important or anything. This video was a major fail.
Who the hell names their son Clare? He must have lost his wallet when he got beat up for having a girl's name.
Hahaha
KingFahtah its a good name though
It's most likely short for Clarence
haha thats funny
Well, maybe he didn't like "Clarence." Also, these days Clare is considered a girls name, but wasn't then... and till mid-century "Leslie" was also a mans name. Regarding the street - I don't know - you'll have to ask him.
Every time i see one of these videos I just start watching at the halfway point...stops me from wasting time. Lol
Did a google search. It's a true story. The guy was 86.
babalooey100 so he's dead since you said "was 86"?
Not sure, didn't check. It's not really that unusual to find 70 year old items when doing repairs!
Gabriel Hamilton...
Damn, I thought they might have found Chester Copperpot's wallet, Like how Chunk did...
MgtowArena hahahaha
Yup! But, maybe its One Eyed Willy's wallet :D who knows!?!?!?
MgtowArena HEY U GUYS !! sloth was the da best !
HA!! I let out a big belly laugh when I read “Chester Copperpot.”
Too funny 😁
Goonies forever!!!
98% of people are good people this remember that people.

Otherwise, make sure you have watched EVERY other video on RUclips first.
they told the old guy that they had found the wallet, but that there was no money inside it :)
Great Dragon
This video sucks! They don't show the end! If you do a search for Clare Macintosh, you'll see that they found the guy. He's 85 years old! There's a video showing them returning the wallet to Clare.
Wow!!:-O:-O:-D It's a wonderful wallet.:-D

Well don't keep us in suspence, man. Did Mr. McIntosh get his wallet back or not?
