Doncaster Sheffield Airport, The Abandoned Airport - 4K Drone Footage

- I flew my DJI Mini 2 over the abandoned (for now) Doncaster Sheffield airport, formally known as DSA, Robin Hood Airport or RAF Finningley.
I also managed to get close to the Vulcan XH558 currently being kept at the airport, which is breathtaking to see on the vacant airfield.
Very sad sight seeing the very desolate and quiet airport terminal building. Hopefully, we start to see the place up and running again soon!

It's so sad to see XH558 all alone like that,it needs some company to cheer her up.I saw it on it's second to last flight back in I think 2015.
So sad to see looks like the vulcan as died just like the airport. Such a sad loss loved flying from Here. Let's just hope it can be re opened up again.😢

This airport needs to reopen it puts many others to shame.
There plans for it to be reopened isn't there? I'm sure that's what I've heard on the news.
It puts more pressure on The already small Leeds Bradford airport
It only put others to shame because hardly anyone used it - hence it closed!

The failure by the two mayors to provide financial support to the airport is what caused the airport to close. They turned down a £20 million share of the airport. They then didn’t provide a £20 million loan when needed. This is all minuted.
No the stupid mayor has a lot to answer for, she turned down an offer to part own the airport for £20m now the ratepayers will have to cough up much more. THICK STUPID LEFTY MAYOR.

Absolutely criminal to allow this VULCAN to be here,
It should be re located to York Air museum ,
I have photo's and video of internal Airport but not allowed as the Airport is still going through all the court drama ,
Never think this will be an airport again thoughts with the personnel who worked there
Not a word about the loss of commerce etc for the local area just whinging about a Vulcan.

such a shame, waste of a fantastic airport and one of the largest runways in the uk. so much potential there. and to see XH558 waiting for her death is just so wrong. Peel and Vulcan to the sky should be ashamed of themselves.
My grandfather worked on that exact plane when he was in the R.A.F and it's very sad to see. It is kind of symbolic in a way. The spirit of great Britain left to rot.

How did you manage to even take off with a dji drone? My mini 4 wouldn’t let me last weekend 😩 said restricted airport zone.
You have to tell DJI the FRZ was deactivated. Sent an application to them with screenshots and wait for approval
So sad to see one of the uks best airports all abandoned and without any passengers. This needs to reopen Fast and We also need more flights here. Maybe jet2 can operate here?
Is the vulcan waiting for her death ? I really hope not please don't let her die .
I was wondering why the Vulcan was not in a hangar, so sad to see her like that, as a former air cadet, I remeber when this was RAF Finningley. But this is part of the bigger plan, by 2050 they aim to only have three airports in the whole of the UK Glasgow Belfast and Heathrow.

I worked there for five years in airport security,ie passenger screening bag searching x-Ray screening airport patrols and plane searches,it was an enjoyable job but so poorly paid,if it reopens I hope the staff are paid enough money for the role and high levels of security needed to run DSA
Coukd not understand why this airport was closed after spending millions improving access to it itvwas a nice airport, but instead vavoured Leeds/Bradford that is prone to high winds and fog, due to its proximity
We put such a lot of work and money into 558 and now she sits there rotting. Feel very sorry for all the people who fought so hard to get her back to flight and now look.
