Good review.... I personally prioritise battery life over gucci touch screens or amoled or maps... I think thats the niche for this watch ... Its kinda like a tractor not a sports car...
I don't want a touch screen. I don't want maps. The goal of this watch is to be simple and basic. If you add maps, that feature requires more processing power and that lowers the battery life. If you add a touch screen that adds one more thing that can fail and adds cost to the watch. I'd rather have cheap and simple myself.
Certainly not worth the price tag for me personally after waiting for so long. Ended up buying the Garmin Instinct 2X because of screen size, solar and torch. Its practically the same watch for most peoples use at less than half price on eBay if your lucky. Still receiving updates from Garmin too.
just also ordered a used 2X because of the price took a coyote tan tactical because it s different from my 45mm graphite 2S and probably less boring ;)
Just about to buy instinct 2 solar but then just found out instinct 3 came out. Going off pictures only I like the looks of the 2 since the 3 has two colors on the solar but is 3 the one to get or are they about the same?
@ultravaluetech24 With battery saver enabled it shows 32d at 83%. At 100% it showed a few days extra but not even near 65d. With battery saver off it shows 9d at 83%.
I just now charged it to 100% and it shows 38d in battery saver mode and 11d in normal mode. I think it should be 65d in battery saver mode and 28d in normal mode on 100%…
I'm a bit confused. On Amazon there are pictures of the Instinct 3 without that utterly stupid circle in the upper right corner. So is this physical or simply part of the display?
@@mihayp explore is connected to your watch directly, it can even use GPS from the maps. But sure, you can use some free maps app with open street maps. It will be way more usable than on small watches. If you need maps on watches buy some other watches. If Instinct will be touch and have maps, it will be different model, that already exists.
Could you compare HR accuracy between Garmin Instinct 3 and chest strap in passive monitoring mode? All HR accuracy comparisons between optical sensors in Garmin watches and chest straps I was able to find are made when activity is recorded in sport mode. I am interested in finding out how accurate Gamins are in continuous HR measurement mode. Could you record e.g. 30 minutes of HR data using chest strap and compare it to the HR data from Garmin app but with no sport mode on? E.g. few minutes of sitting, standing up, few minutes of walking around the house doing some chores, maybe walking up the stairs, etc.

Nice video and good review !
It's clear for me, that Garmin wants you to buy Enduro 3, if you need maps in your adventure watch. For a muuuch higher price. Just business
Great review! Thank you

Has it a Return to start Navigation Mode where it tracks your path and can lead you back to where you came from?
Yes
Nice review. Does it have the analog watch faces like my 2x? Thanks

What is your wrist size?
A very good review with good detail on the functions and operation of the watch. I agree that the torch/flashlight is a very useful feature. 👍

Yes there are no notable new features between 2 and 3 unless you get the amoled screen.
How is for running?
Guaranteed there will be an upgraded tactical version.
Yup, within a few months 😂
So I have the same model and I can’t find out how to get the 65 days battery mode.
How do I adjust it so it shows me the 65 days for smartwatch mode?
Enable the battery saver
@ultravaluetech24 With battery saver enabled it shows 32d at 83%.
At 100% it showed a few days extra but not even near 65d.
With battery saver off it shows 9d at 83%.
@@HoRiOnS are you sure you have the instinct 3 50mm? Also the 40 days is with out of the box settings. If you enabled pulseOx its gonna be much lower
@@panagiotisdrivas8011 I have the 45mm version. The 50mm version should have 100 days in battery saver watchmode.
I just now charged it to 100% and it shows 38d in battery saver mode and 11d in normal mode.

Good design

You are probably looking at the amoled version on Amazon 😂
@ultravaluetech24 Oh my mistake, I overlooked that there are two versions of the I 3. Thanks for the head up 👍
the screen goes off or can stay on all the time?
It stays on all the time on the Solar MIP.
Is garmin coming out with a map in the instinct 4?
I think the best we can get for instinct 3 is elevate 5 and maybe touch for amoled
Does the flashlight have a strobe mode?
In the quick menu you can add strobe.
@nonexistant2k3 thank you.
Yup, also Blink, Pulse , Blitz, Beacon & can even set up something custom as well. Very advanced 😂
you can use garmin explore (on your phone) for map, you dont need a map on 1" screen.
I can use other maps directly on my phone, then

Is it PFA free?
Hoof .. what a question, I’d probably imagine anything that is this material has PFAS
Extra
@ PFAS 3 Instinct Ultra Mugen
why do people wear their watch on their wrist bone?
Just depends on your wrist / where it feels the best 😂
