It's crazy the last 6 were 2 Patrick Mahomes, 2 Lamar Jacksons, and 2 Aaron Rodgers.
AP came back in 2012 and played like he never left the sport
Adrian Peterson was that guy. But his run with the Redskins shall not be spoken about
@@kevinuchiha6830 that is true lol
@@kevinuchiha6830He Was Incredible As The Best Running Back In Football 🏈
Against the LOB no less
@@kevinuchiha6830why not? Didn’t he too 1k yards there? Idc about the whooping his kid shit
Jerry Rice being the WR on the best play for 3 different MVP QBs… in 3 different decades. That’s why he’s the GOAT WR. Unbelievable.
The Dbs were trash
@@jefeseason4990 Jerry battled with Deion in his prime and still was in the league at the same time as Randy Moss putting up 1k yards at 38+ years old. Stop it. You’re clueless.
@jefeseason4990 bruh, when Rice played there were no concussion protocol. Linebackers and safetys went helmet to helmet. Maximum impact.
You're so clueless, you must think Lebron is the GOAT lmao
@@TheCrackerSeal you point to one DB as if they played each other 6 times a year.. your clueless! Randy went up against way better DB talent and it’s not even close.
@@kyleyost1163 what your saying means nothing. I’m talking technique and the ability to shut down a WR. There are better DBs in the league now than before. The physicality was better back then
You’re crazy to think basketball players are getting worse.
John Elway's one of my favorite quarterbacks, ever, but I don't understand how he won MVP with 19 touchdown passes when Jerry Rice had 22 touchdown catches in 12 games that same year.
You’re right. Obviously Rice deserved it. Not sure what their thought process was
Reggie White also had 21 sacks in 12 games that season.
Favre shouldn’t have won in 95 over Rice or Emmitt. He also had no business sharing MVP with Barry in 97.
wasn’t alive then, but looking back at the history it’s hard to understand why he won that one
calling it mvp is misleading, they just hate to give it to anyone but a qb or rb
my vote would have been for reggie white that year though
Normally I would disagree, but you're right that Jerry Rice absolutely deserved the MVP that year.
That pass by Manning in 2004 ! Wow Stokely still had to make 2 moves and he turns bam right on the numbers ! Amazing 🤩
Jim Brown 1957 the only player to win NFL MVP as a rookie.
I Miss That Great Guy James Grinstead
@@tyreepowell8367 arguably the G.O.A.T. of all running backs
Campbell came close. Lost by a handful of votes his rookie year to Bradshaw (and actually won the PFWA version of the award) and won it the next year.
9:52 is the first and last time a kicker will ever win a MVP which is absolutely crazy
Yep because the qbs are the only things that mater anymore which is sad.
the craziest thing to me is that season doesn't even stand out as a particularly great season for a kicker, but washington was a great team and he hit a bunch of clutch kicks that year (and it might have been strike shortened too)
Dan Fouts was clearly MVP that year
Dumbass voters 😂. Fouts set the record for yards/game that season.
He missed 2 FG's just for good measure too lmao
Dude some of these recent mvps these were not their top plays of the season. Not even close
I was thinking the same thing smh
Most memorable play would've worked
exactly. Lamar dropping back left handed , then switching back to his right and dotting a TD to Zay was better . I wouldnt been mad if they had Lamar catching his own pass.
LT had so many awesome highlights idm why they showed what they did.
@@275dpr It was him breaking the TD record.
That Alan Page play was 🔥🔥🔥🔥
It was absurd. Perfect lateral, after pick from dline then he does a Randy Moss impression with that toss. Dude was amazing.
Kurt Warner throwing that pass to Isaac Bruce in the Super Bowl WAS RIDICULOUS
That's what you call bad defense right there, and bad tackling.
I like how the moment 2010 was over was when universal HD was done
Watching Rodgers, Brady, and Manning when MVPs from the early 2000's to recently is just crazy when you realize the time frame these three dominated.
Its crazy how the 2013 footage already looks like its coming from out of a vault...sheesh time flies
I think it’s cause they compress footage for storage so the quality isn’t gonna be as good when they bring it out. So that’s part of it.
@@holdenmuganda97yeah it’s gotta be this. As a big Manning fan I know for a fact that watching those games that year didn’t look that bad. It looked almost the same as it does today. It’s still crazy to me that that was over a decade ago though.
@@notquitekeanuAround 2008 or so when NTSC telecasts end, we see picture quality that rivals what we are used to.
I would say that 30 yard Run that Lamar had against the Niners where he faked out Fred Warner was his best play this season
Certainly an excellent one
He had no highlights before that game, I cannot fathom why he is the MVP
@@OJTheMarriageCounselor💀💀
@@OJTheMarriageCounselor Cry

seems like half of these are great catches by the WR
3 years in a row for the Greatest Show on Turf
W block by the ref 9:14
I'm impressed with the quality of footage for a lot of the older era. Still better than All-22 footage from Soldier Field
Lawrence Taylor is probably forever the only post merger linebacker to be an MVP
Linebacker? He's the last DEFENDER to win it!
@@JohnGramer06 hence the NFL is stupid
@@JohnGramer06i could argue a defender could win it
If a 2014 watt/2021 AD season came in a season with no legitimate qb candidate its very possible
Its very unlikely a lb will ever win again
@@Aburner960 Adrian Peterson won MVP, but he's on offense.
@@Aburner960 Watt got fucked because he played for The Texans. Absolutely transformed offensive game planning exactly like LT.
Peyton Manning of the 2013 season vs Ravens 7 touchdowns and zero interceptions not only that he broke the TD's record held by Brady with 50 in 2007 but Manning had 55 TD's in a season winning NFL's MVP
That’s right baby give me those Mark Moseley MVP highlights. Hail to the Commanders!!
HTTC
HAIL TO THE REDSKINS BABY!!!!
REDSKINS YESIRSKII
NFL MVP and Heisman are literally just the best Offensive Player of the Year award. Defenses are hardly ever consider for MVP consideration. I know some defensive players who literally were game changers for their team and some should've got MVP awards. But the guys who did win definitely deserve it just as much as well
Matt Ryan really did something special in 2016. Falcons fans don’t take him for granted. Our best ever player. He changed our whole franchise
If only you had a better defense in 2016
You know your team also once had a guy named Deion Sanders right?
@@Riles3152 he left as soon as possible. Matt won mvp and had us contending in the nfc for years
@@iandecastro6661 that man really tried to act like Deion was Atlanta's best player in franchise history
@@sabishiihito he left as soon as possible. He’s not our best player ever
Every time one of these MVP compilation videos pops up, I feel painguish knowing Drew Brees won't be in it.
Ah I miss that fuzzy footage from the 2000s, I wanna go back :(
Last decade of NTSC or analog picture resolution.
Why are y’all showing highlights from playoffs/SB when it’s a regular season award?
2007 Patriots are still the only team in NFL history to go undefeated in a 16 game season 16-0 🤯🤯
They got to 18-0 breaking the Miami dolphins record of 17-0.
Pats lost the SB tho to go 18-1.
Still a AMAZING season for the Patriots !!
A kicker winning mvp is crazy
Mark Moseley 🐐
You would never guess what position has the most points scored by a single person in their nfl career
@@kevinuchiha6830He Played For Washington
@@tyreepowell8367 yes he did

Its so amazing to hear those plays happen during the 70s-50s. Man how the game has evolved so much. However those early 2000s seemed much more genuinely earned .
NFL stays doing Matty Ice dirty, he had so many plays better than that
Man Shaun Alexander's numbers would've been crazy without injuries.
I remembered Rich Gannon being great with the Raiders, but I legit forgot he won the MVP during that period, lol! Wonder if and when we'll ever see a non-QB win the award again...
I don't see it happening any time soon. The game and the way the rules have been modified is too invested and geared toward the QB's value being too impactful.
Notice how many of these plays are an MVP quarterback throwing a pass and the receiver making the play look spectacular.
For a lot of the passing highlights, the receivers play was just as good if not better than the QBs
❤ Joey T, Mark Mosley and Larry Brown HTTC HTTR4LIFE
The NFL needs to add a new award. Either make a most valuable quarterback along with MVP, or they need to add a most valuable defensive player with THE mVP. It's almost always a QB or a RB.
And in recent years really just the quarterbacks.
RIP Steve McNair!
Favre with three straight, that's crazy. Only Brown, Montana, Manning and Rodgers won in consecutive years.
I miss the days of RBs regularly winning. It was a different game then. That Emmitt clip was great, not sure if I've seen that play before.
Can't believe Marino only won one. It pays to be a SB contender, I guess.
That run of (relatively) unknown guys between the legends of the 60s and the stars of the 70s was interesting. Brodie, Gabriel, Morrall all in a row. Obviously they were great but I wasn't familiar with them and none of them are hall of famers. They are all still living though, interestingly.
So it's basically a QB throwing up a prayer and a WR making an outstanding catch for most of these.
Crazy seeing A.Peterson running the rock like that again. Even crazier seeing that run against the vaunted Seahawk D (even right at the beginning of the heyday).
Lawrence Taylor.
Coolest player I’ve ever watched.
The jump in video quality from 2010 to 2009 is insane 😂
HD TV broadcasts in the USA started around that time. I remember watching the 2009 NBA Finals G5 on HDTV for the first time and it was amazing.
I Love Your RUclips Channel NFL Throwback You Are The Best

Jerry Rice effectively gave 3 different quarterbacks MVP awards but never got one of his own :/
Didn’t realize Favre won 3 consecutive MVPs, damn
9:52 is the first and last time a kicker will ever win a MVP. hehehe
What happened between 09 and 2010 the graphical difference is astronomically better
Fr bro 😂
I realized that these receivers made some of these QBs look so elite
6:55 OMG THE PLAYING FIELD 😮
I was in that endzone. It was crazy. The crowd was so loud
A lot of these aren't even the best plays, just personal milestones.
1960s packers were fire. imagine having two backs and a qb that were competing for mvp in today's league. imagine the current 49s but with 2 CMCs
Absolutely insane they gave a kicker the MVP
Am I the only one who finds it hilarious that among all these strong and impressive passes and runs there is Mark Moseley with a simple kick?
It was a perfect storm of a situation:
A: He made nearly every single kick back when kickers were less efficient compared to now.
B: His team sucked in the red zone, so his kicks impacted his team’s results and thus standing a lot more than most kickers end up doing.
He didn’t really deserve the MVP, but it was a very good, unique season that we aren’t likely to see anything like now.
OJ was 8 seconds lol
I love how in most of the QB best plays, it's a relatively simple pass, well placed, with an incredible catch... but Patrick Mahomes and Lamar Jackson, their best plays were something they made happen. Love that we're entering the generation with the most atheltic QBs of all-time, and it's just getting started.
Lamar’s TD to Zay in the playoffs was his best play
Tom Brady's 2017 Season Is One Of My Favorites
Last season of his prime I may argue.
His last first team all pro anyway
@@fortynights1513 Exactly
Shaun Alexander had tremendous vision. It’s a shame about the foot injury.
Very few defenses players on this list, its 100% an offensive reward.
I wish there were more defensive mvp’s
Only Barry Sanders could juke the same guy twice, then break his tackle 55 yards later. #55 @ 6:20
If it weren't for his incident in 2014, Adrian Peterson would've broken more records.
John 3:16-21
AP knows what's up.
That Cam Newton flip is the greatest thing in the video
It’s definitely not his best play that season. I’d take his scramble vs the Pats that year over this for sure and probably the run against the Falcons where it took the whole team to stop him.
@@Vroomery01 Cam was an absolute cyborg that's for sure.
That being considered Matt Ryan’s best play is the most falcons thing ever
Damn shame Drew Brees isn’t on this list
If his 2011 season occurred in say 2010 or 2012, he could’ve won it.
Either Brees or Roger Staubach are the best quarterback to not win an MVP.
Does any player have more aura than Ladainian Tomlinson in those old Charger unis? Dude was a monster
Damn, '86 was the last MVP from the defense side? That says a lot about the bias towards offenses (I suppose fantasy football proves that also).
The best quarterback by stats was clearly Dan Marino, but for an 8-8 team.
Oh damn I forgot Kurt Warner got a 2nd mvp in 2001.. super underrated qb.
It’s crazy that the rams won 3 MVPs in a row. I also think the MVP is celebrated enough in the nfl as it is in other sports
Damn, should be the MVQB award at this point😂
So far a lot of these best plays from mvp quarterbacks were the receivers making great snags
Man look at the separation moss got bro that man’s the goat if he had Brady his whole career he would’ve crushed every record ever
Lamar’s best play this year was the 2pt conversion against the Rams. Flew completely under the radar but he threaded the needle while getting crushed to put the Ravens up 3. The Jags play was cool but in all honesty that was a bad throw, it was a great escape but Likely made a great play on the ball.
A 5 yard out route was Rodger’s best play in 2021😭 TB12 clearly robbed of MVP that year
Record setting pass. That’s why
A kicker winning MVP is CRAZY!!!
Manning had lots of mvp and Tom Brady wow 😊
Also, Good lord Favre won it 3 straight years? wow
Rich Gannon the most outta place MVP
I’m shocked lynch never got one.. He was a monster in 2014 and 15
Marshawn? He is my favorite player of all time but he definitely never deserved to be MVP. In 2014 DeMarco rushed for 500 more yards than Marshawn and had just as many rushing TDs. In 2015 he barely played and retired afterwards, for the first time. His best season statistically was in 2012 when AP eclipsed 2k
The Lamar circle button spin was crazy to watch in real time 😭😭😭
Favre was the original Mahomes and I’ll say it as many times as I can. If it weren’t for the elbow problems and addiction issues, Favre would have many rings.
Are they serious about 2016 Matt Ryan regular TD ? I remember Julio had a crazy run after catch in the playoffs I think against packers way better.
Earl running over Tatum on the goal line sheeeesh.
Should have had Peterson's 80yrd run against Packers for his
Sports Trivia in the year 3000. Who was the last Running back to win MVP? -Adrian Peterson
That was a cool vid man
Brady🐐💯💯
Don't do that to me, NFL. No way 2009 was that grainy. 2009 WAS ONLY 5 YEARS AGO
2009 was 5 years ago? I wish.
Crazy that was 15 years ago... 😭
awhhh Mcnair:/. RIP
NFL refs used to be so goofy… just scurrying around, getting in the way, flinging their arms wildly up to signal touchdown
Josh Allen was snubbed.
8:43 insane
Nah, the TD to Agholor in the Lions game was Lamar's best play this year. Also the TD to Flowers in the Dolphins game was the best overall play Lamar was involved in, and he was mostly responsible for Flowers getting so open with the left-handed drop he took.
That AP run was not from his MVP season
That Alan Page play is from 1969 week 11, not Page's 1971 MVP season.
"Ohhhh!! He broke his ankles!!"
Anyone else remember playing in the arcade Terrell Davis on NFL blitz?? lol, that was always a sure bet
I just dont like how WRs or any other position virtually has no chance of winning MVP over a QB. I understand QB is the most important position & the hardest, but CMC should have won over Lamar this year imo
