In chapter four, we decide to slow it down and spend a couple days in idyllic Trinity, Newfoundland with family. We take the helicopter up for a tour of the bay and end up experiencing some epic views of whales and sea stacks.
We took a MASSIVE cross country helicopter trip in August where we flew our helicopter, the Millennial Falcon, back to our Canadian home province Newfoundland and Labrador. We will be releasing episodes of Cold Island, A Helicopter Travel Series every Sunday and Wednesday until Nov 13th! This is our largest video project (and helicopter trip) to date. Hope you enjoy it!

Can we just take a moment and appreciate EVERYTHING about this series?!
Kyle Quiachon 😭🙏🏼💙
It’s absolutely beautiful!
Great work on this amazing series !Thank you for taking us along !
Beckie and Chris are the best... I swear it!!!!
Agreee! They are soooo good!
I legit gasped when Chris made it through the railing in the intro! 🤯 The whale watching from a helicopter is so crazy. Wow.
This is Tech Today thanks so much!!
This is Tech Today. Epic drone footage.
yup. Me too lol
When he was going through the arm of the chair I just like what you doing, lol
Who said it was Chris flying the drone, I wouldn't underestimate Becki and her flying skills😂😊🙏
Stopped everything, made coffee, sat and watched with a huge smile...you two are phenomenal visual storytellers.
William Strathdee 😭 thank you!
@@BeckiandChris I'll second this, my god with every episode I watch the more captured I am. Thank you. Back to my coffee and and video =)
I love the opening drone sequence
dude! your freaking drone skills are MAD!!! lol
They improved rapidly. This man needs to sleep! Looks like he's practicing day and night.
@@TheFlatronify Right!! lol it's just amazing.
The skillz he has in the matter of months.. boom
yeah it‘s almost like he is a pilot
@@Zackbrooks737 He actually flies an fpv drone, and his progression is amazing
That INTRO THOUGH OMG
THAT SOUND DESIGN IN THE INTRO. Literally, to die for. Newfoundland is absolutely beautiful
The amount of history you've preserved is astonishing!
First time getting to see the family in the videos. It makes a difference to any vlog or similar format, getting an outside perspective. You two are the main characters in the videos, but getting a splash of backstory and seeing what it's like for other people looking in on you two adds so much.
I feel like I’m watching an episode of Land and Sea. This entire series is incredible.
I didn't think it was possible but literally each chapter seems to be a stronger installment with such phenomenal cinematography. I think it's safe to say we will all be rewatching this series as an example of what can be done and how it should be done for a very long time!
I grew up watching these things everyday. The scenery, the weather, the icebergs, the people etc. Makes me miss home. Cheers.
best youtube series EVER
I don't have a mature enough mind to watch that shed part xD
I teared up at the whales part s2 ;-;
It was so beautiful!!!
ME TOOO
This is the best series on RUclips right now!! I feel like I'm watching Netflix document series!! Great job guys!!!! I love Chris ending "tune into next time"🤣🤣🤣🤣
Are you kidding me with that Intro!? The sound design was ridiculous!! Guys.... Wow! Inspiration to the max!
I honestly am in love with this series.
💙💙💙💙
If this chapter showed me anything, it showed how incredible a drone pilot Chris is.
I really thank you both for sharing these adventures with us.
The family used to have a house in Champneys east or west ( can't remember now). Used to spend the summers there like 40 odd years ago. Trinity was just down the road. I am soooo homesick watching this series but a happy homesick. Thank you for making memories that rekindle mine.🤗
Becki and Chris this episode had stunning visuals but the true heart of this episode for me was the family aspect. Thank you for sharing your moments of your life with all of us in RUclips. Take care and have a great evening.
I can't be the only one hoping trips like this become a yearly thing. Love getting to see all o this through your eyes, such a killer adventure.
Moody. Evocative. Calming, What a place. What great people. The opening sequence with the fog... Killer! Fog can be disruptive and even dangerous but it's still my favorite weather condition and I make no apologies!
I think the nonchalant “I think there’s whales down there” capture how amazing this series is and the unexpected gems y’all have shared with us! Thank you 😭👌🏾
this is beyond youtube quality.... this series belongs on netflix.
Great imagine and story telling! People always say "you don't need cool places and expensive gear, you just need to tell a good story". THIS IS BOTH!
For all the fun we mainlanders poke at Newfoundland, you truly have something special out there❤️
Man, the first person drone footage in this completely reminds me of the world intro in the old game "Myst". They would have these little flythroughs as you would use a book to go to a new world each time. The way you introduce each of these areas, completely reminds me of that!
This video brings back amazing memories for me! My husband and I explored Newfoundland last September while living in our Skoolie and stumbled upon Trinity. We ended up staying 3 days camped out by the lighthouse and it is hands down my favourite place we have travelled to! I can’t even imagine how awesome it was to explore by helicopter!
I cried...so much love and family wrapped in a beautiful landscape HUG!!!
The anxiety came back with the opening shot haha. This was my favourite episode so far! The fpv drone shots and sound design was spot on, I appreciate the effort put in for those subtleties! And spotting and filming those whales, soo good!
What a beautiful depiction of Newfoundland! So in love...
So after having a stressful day yesterday I saved this one up for today to relax, sit back and enjoy. Boy, did I decide good! This whole series is awesome from start to finish and it is so great to see that regular people are producing way more valuable content than TV oder in many cases even cinema does. The storytelling is great and the production value is through the roof. So thanks, Becki and Chris, for taking us along on your trip and showing us around. I have some family in Canada and I am really wanting to visit them rather sooner than later, especially after watching your videos.
I really hope the Newfoundland tourism board is paying you royalties for the all the business you’re bringing them next summer
Family is everything. Beautiful segment to the series.
They're back... The next chapter in what has been an amazing story and adventure... Living your life by your own means, with your own vision. Seeing your "home" from a new point of view is a powerful thing. Thank you for the series, you guys are amazing.
Everyday Family thank you so much! This has been a really special one to make, very passionate about Newfoundland.
Personally, I am unable to watch more than 10 minutes of video continuously, but you guys have me hooked on this travel series. This series combines everything I love, from video to nature and from helicopters to the sense of freedom you feel when you can just hop on and go anywhere you want. Also the documentary style of the series and the beauty of the footage combined with the life style narration it's just superb. Excellent Work Guy!
There simply are not adequate words to describe this beautiful visual gift. Thank you both so much.
I love travel stories like this one. Found it particularly entertaining how everyone in Trinity seemed used to the whales, but even watching the footage from the helicopter gave me chills. I think I need to take stock of what I’m under appreciating in my area...
braddahlogic thanks!! Moving away from home has really given us a new perspective on appreciating where you are!
Chris looks just like his mom! This series is amazing!! Loved the heli ride over the whales.
Was literally refreshing the page for this 😂🙌
IsaacLorVisuals 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼
just blown away by this...words are failing me! Chris, wow...with your drone flying! Beckies, wow...with the cinematography! I've enjoyed your videos ever since I found this channel a couple months ago and you have really stepped up your game with COLD ISLAND, amazing!
I’ve never watched a yt video twice until this one. WOW. Love from Syracuse.
BUT THAT EDITING SKILLS THOUGH........ incredible sound effects on the drone shots and the modified food prep sounds. ON Fuckin point.
As a Newfie migrant, this series is everything ☺️
Lovely series. A bit hit-and-run, but beautifully done. Great opening with Eric Parsons.
The quality of these videos are simply beautiful 😍
Am I still on RUclips?!? This video is beautiful. Trinity has been added to my list of must see places now! The soul of Canada lives in places like this 🇨🇦. Makes me so damn proud.
😲😲😲😲😲
I’m blown away. Seriously there was so much depth in the production of this film and the introduction of all the fun complex characters really elevated it to another level. I am so proud of both of you‼️
Kostas Lazanas thank you!!
The composition of the inside of the heli paired the FPV shots mixed with the propeller SFX is so effing deadly! Unreal
mike deen thank you!
An amazing series. Thank you for taking us along! The island is stunning and pictorial with such charm from another era. As an artist I would love to visit and create here. A place I would have never considered touring. The whales were amazing to see as well! Stunning imagery from visual storytellers! I didn't want it to end. More Trinity Island!
That intro was absolutely stunning!! I felt like it was the beginning to a BBC crime-drama series ala Broadchurch but in Newfoundland
You guys have outdone yourselves with this series! My jaw is on the ground - this could be on tv! SO GOOD, so captivating! I love it all! Well done friends!
This series is the best thing you guys could have done for this channel. You weren't kidding when you decided to focus on the production aspect.
Everything. Is. So. Tastefully. Done.
Really great job guys.
The quality of this film is next level. Watching this for free is blowing my mind 🤯🤯.
You two are killing it! This series is incredible on so many levels - story, cinematography, editing, etc. I am chomping at the bit for the next episode to release each time. Keep up the amazing work!!! Chris...hang up the stethoscope, and make these FULL TIME with Becki!!
at 00:24 "How dope would it be to go through that railing, but probably to narrow"
Literally 2 seconds later I lose it, mind blown. Look at Chris Kolder over here xD
I live here on the west coast of Newfoundland. Found out about this series from CBC covering the story. Love everything about this cinematic story. I can't wait for the next episode. Its exactly how I'd like to experience Gros Morne.
Thanks for the trip down Memory Lane - nothing like seeing The Town What Raised Ya from a completely new perspective!
Cannot get enough of this series :D Mail Netflix! Haha. Unbelievable opening drone sequence :))))))
Beautiful part of the world. Nature is majestic.
between the fpv, mavic and heli shots ugh this series is so so good!
Trinity is such a beautiful place. I imagine the winters are something else!
WHAT???? That drone intro! What mad flying skills, Chris!! I had to watch that part 3 times in a row!!
Just wonderful cinematography and story telling, the beauty that is Newfoundland. My grandmother's family was from Conception Bay and I have been able to get there twice. Really love the "soft" Newfoundland accent.
This town makes me so nostalgic. Used to live in Halifax, loved going down to Peggy's Cove or Lunenberg!
Beautiful video! The drone shots. The Heli shots. The Shed interview. The music. The Vibe. And obviously Trinity! Favourite shot was straight down on the pastel painted dorys. Thnx
This series needs to never end, but I know you have to get back to work eventually. Thanks for sharing this amazing trip! Your families are so adorable and Newfoundland is breathtaking!
Those opening SFX tho!! So crispy
This made me extra homesick... Especially seeing you with my Mom! So many amazing childhood memories in Trinity with you Becki. You guys have done such an amazing job with this series!! Congrats!!
Nick Burry thanks Nick! Every time I’m out there I think of the fun and hilarious times we all used to have hanging out there when we were kids! Such a beautiful place. Hope you are well!
I literally stop everything to watch B&C... Yes, I'm at work.
Out of the box is just an understatement. I would love my family holiday videos to look like this, will continue dreaming.
This is the vest thing on RUclips, great people, beautifuly filmed, just stunning!
What an absolutely beautiful town. The people there seem so endearing. Thanks again...
I just can't express in words how much I'm loving following this series and your adventure. The story telling and mix of drone and camera footage is amazing and just a joy. I finish a video excited for the next chapter. Well done doesn't cut it but great job guys. The edit is off the charts!!
Thank you so much for sharing this amazing trip and letting us experience it with you! It's one of my bucket list items to see where my grandmother is from in Newfoundland and experience the beauty there.
You guys are doing it so differently. From the storytelling and editing to the way each scene was shot; so refreshing to see such a unique thing being done!!!!
Jordy Gina thank you so much!
Very neat place. The conversation about the town names was hilarious. Love the humor. Rock on!
tjsinva omg I was dying editing that! Especially the blooper moment between then two of them
These series are mindblowingly amazing - everything from the adventures to the cinematographics, it just takes your breath away. And man, that drone opening on this video! Oh. My. Gosh. And how wholesome the relatinships in the families are. Thank you guys so much for sharing this.
Watching in 4K is such a treat! Unreal guys!
Just loving it all! Trinity is now on our bucket list.....
Trinity, more like I want this series to last to infinity! But seriously, some beautiful landscapes and the whales!
Ryan Janousek 😂 love that! Thank you!
The cut scenes are hilarious. I bet there is so much gold on your cutting room floor. That said, I love this chapter. wouldn't change a thing.
This series is therapeutic.. Thank you so much Becki and Chris!
I just bloody loved all of that. You both really are exceptional at documentaries. The story is addictive and the lifestyle of the local people just makes me want to visit there.
You've just created a new and unique place on the world map.
Thanks so much.
I won't comment when drunk anymore, promise.
Hey Christopher! So nice to see your mom looking fabulous as usual! Love your work...you too Becki
Wonderful and fun people, in both your families. And yes I did see the some hate or negative comments and I thought to say this... that, I think we all are appreciative and thankful for you two to take us with you on this exciting journey to your home town, places like we have not seen before, many of us may never knew such beauty existed. You guys could just be there and do all your thing without sharing a bit.
Most of us happen to know the production of such level is not an easy game, recording, editing and how you guys shooting and editing this one... every scene, every word every moment is connecting us to the visual in front of our screen, it is hard work so thank you to make us a part of your journey, of your life.
Munir Rahool thank you so much!
@@BeckiandChris Anytime. :)
Love, love, love the series. I watch the videos on my laptop or phone first and then I watch them again with my husband and son on the TV.
The landscape is breathtaking. I miss NL so much. We were in Greenspond in August, which is just a bit north of Trinity. We did not see any whales, unfortunately.
The drone footage is AMAZING.
Couldn’t resist watching on my phone. Yet, when I got home I re-watched on the big TV just because the video and scenery and expert storytelling. Also the edit!?!?! I mean just perfection. You 2 are knocking it out of the park on this series I cannot wait till the next chapter.
New levels of cinematic and story telling wow
RUclips doesn’t deserve this greatness! My god! Beautiful and the story telling!!!
All of your intros, editing, and overall videos are just unbelievable.. if someone took one of your intros and a blockbuster intro and showed it to a group of people, they wouldn’t be able to tell the difference! Well done.
Forget typical drone shots. These fpv drone shots are 🔥🔥🔥
I'm here because of the fpv but I stay because of the story. Beautiful job to the both of you.
Newfoundland looks pretty amazing,
a masterclass in storytelling... THANK YOU!
JWK DESIGN 😭🙏🏼
This series is a beauty ... Thanks for the beautiful shots , very honestly , no social media bs .Seeing whales like that just made my day ...
I absolutely love the drone shots
Cold Island...Warm Family, say no more 👍
I actually teared up when Becky hugged her "aunt".... makes me miss my family that live so far away and I rarely get to see.
OMG! That opening drone sequence was EPIC! I'm loving this series, especially getting tp see both of your families in this episode.
