After the Seige of Cameth Brin, where the garrison, desperate, sallied out against the Dunedain forces, and got slaughtered in turn, Aragorn low on working men and funds for his growing Kingdom, allowed many men to retire from the army, though, they where ready to raise their blades again should the need arise. From their came a time of relative peace, besides for a few raids and skirmishes. The realm prospered as Aragorn directed massive amounts of funding to construction. Then, one day, out nowhere, the Remnants of Angmar attacked a northern village, it was a raid, nothing out of the ordinary. As the raiding party started their attack, a force of 78 men led by Halbarad, fended of the army of 400 orcs, dealing massive casualties in the process. While the battle had little effect with the ongoing war, it boosted morale around the Kingdom to an all time high, and made Halbarad a hero amongst the people. Then, not long after, an army of 1300 orcs arrived, Halbarad, with his army of 300, was ready, he famously said before the battle "just like home". When the Orcs attacked Halbarad was ready, and after a hard fight, Halbarad won again, losing only 70 men while the orcs lost hundreds. Halbarad became almost as famous and revered as Aragorn. Aragorn, after this second battle, prepared for an invasion north, it was time for the orcs to pay the blood price...
Aragorn's Quest script: (This may have already been explained earlier by someone, but just in case...) 1) You need to move Aragorn to the REGION that is indicated/mentioned in the text. Otherwise you don't trigger the next step. That is why it triggered while you were still moving towards Bree, since you were already in the Bree region. 2) The next step is hunting for Gollum in the hills of Rhudaur. That is the region north of Imladris and northeast from Cameth Brin. (Be careful, though. There be trolls in them thar woods. Bringing your spy down to scout the woods would be an excellent idea.) 3) There are a few more steps, but in the end, you will be rewarded with a reforged Narsil/Anduril, and if you bring Aragorn to Dunharrow in Rohan, you get three units of the Army of the Dead, who eat full enemy stacks for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Literally, since after three battles (and I seem to recall it is three battles with ANY unit, so splitting them up doesn't help) their Oath to Isildur ('s Heir) is fulfilled and they vanish. But they can be used to pretty much punch any one faction out of the game, either dealing with Misty or Isengard if you haven't already, or clearing the way to Mordor and taking out Barad-Dur, too. I'd just warn you not to send Aragorn to Dunharrow too early, since you don't want him to get ambushed by the Dunlendings and Isengard, or attacked by the Rohirrim who are getting pissed off at all these scruffy wanderers on their lands.
The main reason the game crashes is probably cause it is not installed properly , game settings dont matter im playing on a crap laptop with 2 to 3 fps in the big battles but it never crashed once. What you should do is watch the installationvideo of the main developer of this mode arachir galudiruthon where he also explains how to tell the game that it can use more then 2 GB Ram cause thats also something that causes a lot of crashes since the base game is limited to 2 GB ram. Other then that i dont think theres a possibility to solve the crashes so you might have to replay some of the campain. Maybe im not sure but you'll see for yourself
Balin the king under the mountain in fact it would more probably be due to the growing shadow from the East, dark powers trying to destroy every beautifull things
Meanwhile in the tower of Orthanc, a great evil unfolded. After learning of the presence of the ring and the quest of the Nine for it I informed Aragorn about it and rushed to Isengard to seek advice from Saruman. Upon arrival I immediately told Saruman but his response wasn't what I expected... Long story short, I ended up a captive. I was trapped on top of the great tower and left by Saruman, who succumbed to evil himself... "Saruman!" I called "SARUMAAAAN!", yet my shouts remained unanswerred. I can see a great Uruk host building up around Isengard, and some have expeditions have already marched off to the great plains of Rohan. I fear the worst, but hope is not yet lost.
Divide and Conquer is remarkably stable, your game is crashing because I guarantee you didn't install it correctly. You either; 1. Didn't run the installers as administrator, which prevents them from making necessary changes to the files. 2. Didn't apply the LAA patch to the Kingdoms executable, which allows the game to use more than 2GB of RAM. 3. Are not running the game from the Kingdoms executable (that you must create) through the batch file included in the installation, but instead through Steam via renaming folders, which is really bad. Ararchir Galudirithon, the lead developer of DaC, has made an excellent and extensive installation guide that works 100%. I suggest you watch his guide before implying that his mod is unstable.
Unfortunately in order to stop the crashes now hed have to restart the campaign. But hes early enough i think he should. I have installed mine incorrectly as well. However i did follow the steps of arachir. Not sure where mine went wrong but im sure it was my doing as dac is very stable.
@@venator0405 Yeah you're probably right, but hopefully other people who are having issues can at least see where they may have gone wrong too if nothing else. I bring word from Lord Elrond of Rivendell. An Alliance once existed between Elves and Men. Long ago we fought and died together. We come to honor that allegiance. We are proud to fight alongside men once more.
When the reinforcements arrived at Ost Sul, they were celebrating they got there in time. However, Halbarad told them he already fought and killed 3 units of orks with his bodyguard. None of them had any memory of that. Therefore, everyone just laught it off and Halbarad convinced himself it was just a dream. XD

@39:40. The Armoury is not a typo, but a limitation of the game engine. It assumes that all building income increases the number, so it imposes the + sign in front. What the Armoury does is to give you some garrison troops if the town/castle is assaulted (they do not help if the enemy can just waltz in and occupy), but it reduces the building income (so the +32 you get from the hunting lodge, etc) by 80. Building income cannot go into negative, though. S if you have a hunting lodge, your building income is +32. If you then build the armoury, the building income is 32-80 = -48, but since it cannot be negative, it becomes 0. But if you then build the chicken farming giving you +40, then 72-80 = -8 which is still 0. I hope this helps.
The battle of Weathertop was a great victory but this is only the start. Our alies in south are barely holding. When hordes of orcs start to attack with overwhelming numbers we must be ready.
Halbarad knew Aragorn's father Arathorn and was his loyal banner for many years, and now he is in debt to his family and to him and lives his life in his memory, and now serves Aragorn and his son Eldarion and the lady Arwen and protects the western border of the Dunedain.
More! More! I love the longer vids. Also make sure you follow the aragon path. It eventually leads to getting the army of the dead. Im not sure if there is a time frame, but my first run through i took forever so i dont think it does.
Pixie your crashes are likely caused because the game is old and caps RAM at 2 Gb. To bypass this, you need to install Large Address Aware. And btw the little fortification next to Ost Sul is a fort, so it can hold 4 units free of upkeep. Its battle map is the same as Ost Sul.
You should do a 2 hour stream every 10 episodes but i dont care i love the videos i got addicted to one if your old campaigns your the best youtuber I have watched and you deserve more subs
Holly crap I've counted at least 3 remarkably detailed comments on how to get around the crashing problem. Keep it going because at this rate we cannot miss the problem. As well a quick message for you Apollo. If you get the money build the hunting camp in every place possible. It may not on the face of it give you much but a free upkeep slot on the right unit is as good as or maybe better than if that building made say 200 a turn.
I love how the steward of Gondor was all like why should I send help to Rhohan when they won’t help us meanwhile Rhohan is fighting for their lives against the most well trained army the dark lord has then still moves to Gondor and saves them
This backstory can be given to anyone, but I would recommend Hirvegil , Araphor or any general you see fit: M’lord I have the origins of this particular general of yours… he seems promising! He's ambitious, loyal and mysterious. This isn't surprising considering for someone with his terrible past, but what'd you expect from somebody with his position. He was born in a loving family in a major town in Western Eriador. He lived happily until he was about 16 years old, but at that point; when the Uruk-hai attacked; things changed. But anything could happen; he is currently still finding the right place in the world. He feels like there's more than what we get to know in this world. Luckily he has great friends and you My Highness Aragon to support him. He first lost his siblings in a revolution at Gondor to free the Orc slaves and was shunned. He then lost his parents when they got separated during a siege in Andrast and was now alone, miserable and abandoned. Against all odds he had to survive in a villainous world. But with his talents and diligence, he managed to keep ahead of the curve and face all obstacles. With a new found position under your wing m’lord he had to survive in a cruel world. Of course with his courage and intrepidness, he managed to reach full potential and overpower anybody who's a hinderance. This has turned him into the man he is today. As the years went on he became more important to society and was learning the language of the Elves. With plenty of money and connections, he struggles to make it in a fantastic world. But with his curiosity and compassion, there's nothing to stop him from staying ahead of the game. He could quickly become a true friend for life.
Pixie, if you're playing as the Dúnedain you *really* need to make a beeline for Deadman's Dike and Annuminas to the west of it, and hold them at any cost, they train really good late-game Dúnedain units which you will need (also Barketta and Bar-i-Donyonach - try and get them before the Dwarves inevitably wear Angmar down and take them instead) and are a byffer against Angmar Jur for what it's worth - both are really cool maps as well!!
Apollo, there is something you might not know ... the way your troops were positioned at the beginning of the game they were relatively strong, because you could attack several rebell villages/cities in a short period of time and with your high range archers you could kite them quite easily ... yeah :)
So, a few tipps for the campaign and some alongside: The crashes probably come from the fact, you havn't installed Large Adress Aware (LAA), so the game can't use enough RAM. However, you won't find that program on Total War Center, since its kind of illegal (it changes something at the .exe which isn't allowed by the total war terms of use -- but nobody will care^^) Most times it's better to have the taxes very low, since it will increase the population growth. Many people paying less still giving more money then few paying much. Thats also the reason why you should build farms. Amon Sul, the watchtower, is a fort in this game, so you will get free upkeep for up tu 4 units. The garrison barracks (where they called that way ?^^) do give negativ income, but provide 1-4 units of garrison, when an enmy attacks the city (not at the siege, but at the attack. Not when you sally out as well) Furthermore, you should build a small army, since Angmar will eventually swamp you. It's best to train ervy unit that has the name "Dunedain"-something, since these are expensive to train but cheap in upkeep. Generals retrain on their own up to 77 men max, if they have 77 or more men before the battle, so don't worry when you lose 4-5 bodyguards^^ Diplomats bowing before your citys doing nothing trying to bribe your settlement. Don't worry though, the DaC team has removed bribery, so they'll never be successful. I might have forgotten something, but...well ther will be another episode, so keep it up^^ Greatings from germany.
Apollo Amon sul is a fort you talked about its but u didn't notice xD. the AI diplomats tries to actually bribe your cities or generals even if its no longer possible in DAC. if i may say that you can send a unite of cav to capture their own city if possible that would minimize the casualties on your side. Oh you can actually call upon the people of a city or a castle to defend it but you have to build a specific building for that , yup the armory with the +- 80.
Playing as the Dunedain there is gonna be alot of back and forth, but taking important regions like tharbad, fornost, and annuminas helps build up a strong defensive perimeter
Do the aragorn RPG quest...you get army of the dead!!!!!!!! Bro, you get 4 free upkeep in the tower of Amon sul...and start building ranger halls to get more upkeep slots The armory costs money because you get free garrison units. I know you play as a careless gamer but you really should read something. Crashes are on your end...I am a tester for the mod and have a crash every 10 hours or so of gameplay. These are the standard end turn crashes. I have windows 7 and a cd copy of kingdoms yours may have something to do with steam. Have been playing the mod for hundreds of hours. It is very stable for a mod of a mod of an 11 year old game.
Are you trying to say I shouldn't try to help you play the game better? As a tester of the mod I would appreciate the mod being represented as accurately as possible. There are some INCREDIBLY talented modders that have put thousands of hours into the game to make it an amazing experience for those that want a great experience. It is discouraging that such a popular youtube personality won't even read up on the installation of the game, nor actually read the game content. So far you have called unique functions of the game, "bugs", have pointed out that it crashes a lot, when it doesn't, and pointed out that a main script of your chosen faction "the aragorn rpg" is useless. You know your player base and know how to get views and likes but it is infuriating to watch an awesome mod represented in such a way.
Even though Apollo isn't the most popular youtuber he's definitely the most loved one by his viewers. Like damn I reload the page every 15 secs and the views grow by 50.
After Faelven was denied a promotion he thought he deserved, he ran to Angmar to try to sellout Aragorn only to be captured, tortured for information, and threw into slavery where he died in a mining accident.
Once in the elder scrolls mod I was playing as Valenwood against the Aldmeri Dominion and had to hold them at a bridge until reinforcements arrived. It was a bloody battle, yet incredibly fun. New titles don't give me that type of joy to completely crush an enemy
Pixie something tells me that after all these years, you don't know how the economy system in med 2 works. all the time you disbanding those units you were actually already making money you just were in debt. that number in the treasury tab at the bottom is what you will have next turn, NOT how much you are getting per turn.
@12:55. So some scruffy looking guy claiming to be a diplomat for 'Chief Aragorn' from the lands in the north where no kingdom has stood for over a millenium, comes to suggest a trade agreement to (Crown) Prince Theodred. Who, by the way, is currently busy getting Rohan ready since the war with Isengard and all, and doesn't really have time for this right now. Even if there would be an actual kingdom out there in the north rather than some dinky village chief with delusions of grandeur, the trade would have to pass through Dunland and Isengard, both hostile to Rohan. So yeah, thanks for visiting, but we are not interested. The diplomat stalks off in a huff: "The Rohirrim are so rude and stuck up, no wonder Gondor doesn't help them!" Sooo... an appropriate response? :)
MTW 2 pro tip: If you move a unit card over another of the same unit they replace in the missing men of the second unit, bringing it back to full strength. This effects the second unit's xp stat and equipment stats (weapon upgrades or armor upgrades)
I assume you installed it correctly. I had repeated turn ending fails. I reinstalled making sure I did it as instructed, including as admin. I swear I did nothing different, but my turn fails went back to the ME2 normal.
Just another tip, in the finances menu the bottom number is the amount of money you will have at the start of the next turn, the number right above the bottom one is the amount of money you are making
Maybe do a video on how to play for some of us less tech savy fans, like what to download, literal steps needed lol, im computer illiterate for one. Thanks again for great vids man
When you try an Alliance and it is rejected, wait one turn, then go for trade rights. When you try things continuously, they automatically reject everything...
Apollo the reason you cannot build in that settlement is you left is on auto build both units and buildings, you need to watch out for that or the AI that controls that will build crap units and bleed your economy out. Gotta read the fine print sometimes
The biggest apollo move is building a big army instead of building economical buildings, going into debt, become profitable accidentally, not seeing the difference between "projected profits" which is now positive and "projected treasury total" and proceeding to gut the army he invested so much into before he can get real use from it.
subbed for the rest of your divide and conquer series. as your other viewers say you should go for a reinstall, I havent had crashes on a clean installation of 2v2
Are you using the Large Address Awareness patch? It is included in the mod folders, the installation guide video suggests using it to prevent a lot of crashes. But yes, this sub-mod crashes commonly. Altho 90% of the crashes will happen during end turn, so theres no lost progress because auto save at end of turn.
U are making money there is no need to disband the units . Just check the finances tab see the projected profit and that is all what u must check to see if u are making a profit. U should go northwest as their are 2 money making settlements close to that fort u have the settlements are: Fornost and Annuminas 2 of the biggest strongholds of the kingdom of arnor and also huge money making and recruitment centers. And that "watchtower" is a fort so u can put 4 units inside of it to get free upkeep and its really close to your settlement you should use that fort. The dunedain armoury gives provides a garrison when your settlement is attacked so u will have a extra free unit if that settlement is assaulted. Also for the crashes when you download the DaC mod it comes whit a little executable named LAA the LAA will fix most of your crash problems as it unlocks more RAM for the game to use i would recommend you to use that executable.

I love how the steward of Gondor was all like why should I send help to Rhohan when they won’t help us meanwhile Rhohan is fighting for their lives against the most well trained army the dark lord has then still moves to Gondor and saves them
This backstory can be given to anyone, but I would recommend Hirvegil , Araphor or any general you see fit:
M’lord I have the origins of this particular general of yours… he seems promising!
Man, hope u can get the crashing under control.....loving this campaign!
You might check out the m&b singleplayer mod, the last days of the third age !
It's one of the best mods imo.
Keep going pixie
Pixie, if you're playing as the Dúnedain you *really* need to make a beeline for Deadman's Dike and Annuminas to the west of it, and hold them at any cost, they train really good late-game Dúnedain units which you will need (also Barketta and Bar-i-Donyonach - try and get them before the Dwarves inevitably wear Angmar down and take them instead) and are a byffer against Angmar
Jur for what it's worth - both are really cool maps as well!!
Loving the series so far
Apollo, there is something you might not know ... the way your troops were positioned at the beginning of the game they were relatively strong, because you could attack several rebell villages/cities in a short period of time and with your high range archers you could kite them quite easily ... yeah :)
So, a few tipps for the campaign and some alongside:
The crashes probably come from the fact, you havn't installed Large Adress Aware (LAA), so the game can't use enough RAM. However, you won't find that program on Total War Center, since its kind of illegal (it changes something at the .exe which isn't allowed by the total war terms of use -- but nobody will care^^)
Most times it's better to have the taxes very low, since it will increase the population growth.
Not when you sally out as well)
Furthermore, you should build a small army, since Angmar will eventually swamp you. It's best to train ervy unit that has the name "Dunedain"-something, since these are expensive to train but cheap in upkeep.
Generals retrain on their own up to 77 men max, if they have 77 or more men before the battle, so don't worry when you lose 4-5 bodyguards^^
Diplomats bowing before your citys doing nothing trying to bribe your settlement. Don't worry though, the DaC team has removed bribery, so they'll never be successful.
I might have forgotten something, but...well ther will be another episode, so keep it up^^
Greatings from germany.
So happy you're doing this :)!
First mount and blade series now total war love ur vids keep it up 👍
why was i so eager after Apollo posted the first one tbh I was checking every 4 hours:3
I love how he disbands his army for upkeep reasons when there was a fort literally next to him where he could have saved money
37:58
yeah?, yeah, YEAH!
Yes my lord?
Playing as the Dunedain there is gonna be alot of back and forth, but taking important regions like tharbad, fornost, and annuminas helps build up a strong defensive perimeter
Do the aragorn RPG quest...you get army of the dead!!!!!!!!
Bro, you get 4 free upkeep in the tower of Amon sul...and start building ranger halls to get more upkeep slots
The armory costs money because you get free garrison units.
Actually....
This is the best vid ever pixel Thx that you make it
Even though Apollo isn't the most popular youtuber he's definitely the most loved one by his viewers. Like damn I reload the page every 15 secs and the views grow by 50.
After Faelven was denied a promotion he thought he deserved, he ran to Angmar to try to sellout Aragorn only to be captured, tortured for information, and threw into slavery where he died in a mining accident.
Forgive my spelling if I messed up on the names
Once in the elder scrolls mod I was playing as Valenwood against the Aldmeri Dominion and had to hold them at a bridge until reinforcements arrived. It was a bloody battle, yet incredibly fun. New titles don't give me that type of joy to completely crush an enemy
Pixie something tells me that after all these years, you don't know how the economy system in med 2 works. all the time you disbanding those units you were actually already making money you just were in debt. that number in the treasury tab at the bottom is what you will have next turn, NOT how much you are getting per turn.
I was cringing so hard watching that. I love Pixie and his videos but my god he does stuff like that so often. rip.
ikr xD
One does not simply... understand Medieval 2 economy.
xD
Lol I don’t even pay attention to that and I didn’t notice till u said
Man i really enjoy this Series!
The diplomat stalks off in a huff: "The Rohirrim are so rude and stuck up, no wonder Gondor doesn't help them!"
Sooo... an appropriate response? :)
MTW 2 pro tip: If you move a unit card over another of the same unit they replace in the missing men of the second unit, bringing it back to full strength. This effects the second unit's xp stat and equipment stats (weapon upgrades or armor upgrades)
You can call upon old soldiers when besieged, kind of, if you get an armoury
I assume you installed it correctly. I had repeated turn ending fails. I reinstalled making sure I did it as instructed, including as admin. I swear I did nothing different, but my turn fails went back to the ME2 normal.
the diplomat stands at your town and tries to speak to you when they attempt to bribe you
Apollo I'm so glad you decided to do another campaign!
Just so you know amon sûl is a fort 😁😁 nice Campaign by the way really enjoy it so far 😁😁
Watching another video, Pixelated Apollo pops up, immediately clicks
Just another tip, in the finances menu the bottom number is the amount of money you will have at the start of the next turn, the number right above the bottom one is the amount of money you are making
Maybe do a video on how to play for some of us less tech savy fans, like what to download, literal steps needed lol, im computer illiterate for one. Thanks again for great vids man
I enjoyed the first video, and I enjoyed this video. I also enjoy cream.
Love your videos, watch them any chance I get- they are amazing, Thanks for entertaining. :)
I love third age divide and conquer and you do it great please keep it up!!
Yes! I guarantee my watch and like to you
1:01:03-
How dare you forget about the mighty Lunmaz!
Positive cash flow does not take ground. Run deficit and charge ahead. Losing troops in battle cuts your service fee and wins new land.
So begins the legend of Halbarad of the Steelbow
Fyi eventually you can recruit steelbowmen, his bodyguards unit
Loving it so far
It was Two Towers when Faramir was at the Forbidden Pool holding his brothers horn😎
10:59
I love you too, Apollo.
:)
My name is Garrus Vakarian and this is my favorite spot on RUclips!
The biggest apollo move is building a big army instead of building economical buildings, going into debt, become profitable accidentally, not seeing the difference between "projected profits" which is now positive and "projected treasury total" and proceeding to gut the army he invested so much into before he can get real use from it.
Does anyone else cry on the inside when Apollo disbands units and leaves the elves on their own?
subbed for the rest of your divide and conquer series. as your other viewers say you should go for a reinstall, I havent had crashes on a clean installation of 2v2
We must prove ourselves to the elves of Lindon, that we are still the same proud people we once were, in order for them to accept an alliance my lord.
Really digging the thumbnail:)
Apollo do a collaboration video on a total war game with The Golden One, would be epic.
Oh.... some free time to watch these episodes with snakes😜😎😏🙌
This 👆
when a diplomat makes an action but you don't see any message of negotiate, so, the diplomat is trying to buy your general/captain.
"You know the dwarfs got money!"
Wealth: Poor
There are dwarves next to Imladris as well: the dwarves of Khazad-dûm
Keep uploading this I fucking love it.
The armoury costs 80 upkeep per turn.. its not a typo xD
By the way Armoury can be profitable if it is built in a settlement far away from capital. It increases law and thus reduces corruption.
and it gives you a garison in that town
The battle did happen. If you look at the turn counter right before the battle began, you can see it is turn 22. After the crash it is turn 23.
