I watched a stream where space Tomato was using this ship to salvage while he had a friend in a nomad taking the boxes off the sides and filing up the cargo in the nomad. Using this method you could stay out doing salvage while the cargo vessel fills up, sells the cargo and returns for more.
The Fortune itself looks cool, but I can't help but like the Vulture better - the Fortune can carry 12+12+4 SCU RMC I believe (outside, buffer, back ramp), with maybe some additional SCU cramped inside - so it could maybe hold more than the Vulture, but it's design just feels a bit worse if you wanna take it to the max, with the Vulture being nice and square and easy to unload...
I love the automated loading of this ship. Hated having to get out of the seat to move boxes mid run. I do wish we’d get a Mole Salvager cuz I love the Argo aesthetic
Imagine if they made a RAFT salvage. Or MISC could use this auto loading feature on a Hull B salvage variant. 🤔 But I agree we do need something between Vulture / Fortune and Reclaimer sizes.
It would be interesting to see a picture in picture comparison of the time it takes to fill a cargo grid of each respective ship after upgrades are applied
Thanks for the practical review and giveaway! It's always nice to have "sidegrades" for different ships rather than just straight upgrades in the same role.
That's neat how walking through the mid-section of the ship is akin to walking down a docking collar corridor, due to the linear frame design & windows. Seeing the MFD's close together for this type of ship, muchly welcomed. The matted two-tone primary colour-scheme throughout is appreciated. Then there's that fuse/coupling receptacle below the engineering display, beside the entryway, nostalgically reminding me of the vial-rotation puzzles in "Jurassic Park" [SNES], "Dino Crisis" [PS1], "Resident Evil" [PS1]. Above all, though - valued coverage of another CIG release.
Even though statistically the Fortune is worse than the Vulture, I still like the Misc look way more than than the Vulture. Plus, the exterior cargo is a major plus to me.
the first ship I ever bought was the vulture during 2.23 and sadly it was wiped, but seeing a new salvage ship gives me another chance to hopefully go back to the joys of salvage.
absolute dream ship! I love the salvaging game loop. Probably my favorite one in the game right now. Good to see, that there is now a Misc ship for salvaging.
I think the two advantages this has over the vulture that keep it somewhat competitive are the auto-eject feature punching out crates onto the cargo grid, and the external cargo grid itself. It allows for a second ship with large cargo space to transfer crates off of the salvage grid as they are produced instead of having to move them from inside of one ship and across to another.
Definately looking forward to setting up a Fortnure with my Prospector.. now just need a ship to park them both in for a Mothership! Thanks for giving me a look at the ship! Loved the video !
I"m glad to see more diversity in the ships available for industrial loops. The Fortune would be a great starter ship. You can haul small cargo missions on the grid like a mini Hull-A, Basic Salvage, Use it for scavenging parts, etc. Great bunker runner, that can easily haul Stor-All crates for looting. Plus, has a fantastic interior if off-grid is your style. The shortcoming would be for Bounties, of course. Not everything has to be about min/maxing all game loops. It does what it was intended to do. Provide additional options for folks wanting to start salvaging.
While i was really hoping early on this was going to be a med salvage ship, the prospector windshield is dope and its nice to see more ships with awsome visibility for casual loops.
Always love anything you do on your channel, this would definitely be on my radar when I start playing the game hopefully later this year. Looks great and lots of fun. Will fit well in a trading fleet sourcing the resources to then trade and love the features to manufacture on-board. Thanks again for the amazing service you provide... 🎉
Always love ya'lls videos. No kidding I'm jealous of the game play I've seen you guys have. You're videos are truly fun to watch. You guys have really made MY game play more enjoyable.
It looks like you get to pick your poison when it comes to small salvage ships: slow salvaging but easier cargo handling with the Fortune, and faster salvaging and slower cargo handling with the Vulture. I kind of like the simplicity of the Fortune, totally a ship perfect for those chill sessions. Thanks for the video Kate!
I love the interior design of the latest MISC ships. Just like the Hull A this is perfectly designed for the solo player. It is definitely a nice alternative to the Vulture. You trade scraping speed for the convenience of boxes of salvage being automatically stacked on the exterior cargo grid. Those red and gold paint schemes look fantastic too!
I dont have the Fortune. I have seen people say the Fortune takes 'a bit' longer than the Vulture to scrape hulls but I cannot see how it can be anything but twice as slow as they both use the same salvage heads. For collecting 12scu then I think the Vulture is the clear winner as it scrapes faster and handles better and scrapes quicker. When you empty the hopper in the hangar, with the Vulture you can grab the boxes as they emerge and move them out of the way but you do need to be on-the -ball and make sure you mov ethem quickly as they emerge. With the Fortune they will go to the outside grids so you must take off the first six then go to the other side and get those as well. For 24scu the Fortune only needs you to go hit the 'auto-eject button' to clear the buffer after the first 12 is in the hopper then you can return to the pilot seat . The Vulture needs you to stay there and stack them before you can go back to the pilot seat and resume salvaging (but salvaging is faster) . Back at the hangar, the vulture pilot can unload the crates already waiting then empty the hopper and move them as they emerage (as with the 12scu scenario). The Fortune pilot will have to unload the side racks from both sides then empty the hopper and empty the side racks again. I am not sure what ship wins there. The Vulture scrapes faster but you must stop after 12scu and stack all the boxes while the Fortune scrapes slower but you can just stay in the pilots seat until you have 24scu then just go home and some might be happier with that. For over 24scu it becomes very messy with the Fortune as the only way to do it is to move the crates off both grids while in EVA and move them into the ships interior 4 at a time via the elevator or singly via the side door. This will allow you to empty the secoond hopperful onto the side grids and start filling the hopper again. I believe the only cargo grid is the 4scu space on the elevator so that would mean anything you put inside might be dangerous when CIG changes gow unrestrained cargo works. When you unload you will need to remove the internal boxes 4 at a time via the elevator or singly through the side door before unloading the side racks. The Vulture is also tricky though as you can get around 32scu into the cargo bay but to get more than that really needs you to EVA and take out all the crates then re-pack them then return via the cockpit. Unloading is fairly simple though.
I am glad they're adding more industrial ships that do the same job, just differently. I hope that someday in the future, we will have more npc ships flying around doing their thing, like in "Freelancer." It was always cool seeing space truckers and npc patrol ships flying around with you. Obviously, the density will never be like that game since the scale of SC is so different, but I'm still hopeful that we'll get a lot more than we have now.
Nice looking ship but a shame they've made it so slow and are not adding the same auto cargo stacking to the vulture, would have preferred a more interesting differentiator between the two that incentivises different types of salvage.
Given future balances, i can see this being a great ship for org salvage operations as the cargo does not require ventalating a whole room and can be left on eject. It means drones can whichly remove cargo from them. Definitely something I will be getting in-game if at a fair price.
i really like the fortune... it's more relaxed, no ladders, nice looks over the vulture, and the automatic cargo part. And it will fit inside the Ironclad where the vulture will not.
I absolutely love the look of the fortune, I feel like to make it viable the external grids should double stack, therefore the cost benefit is slower scraping but much larger cargo capacity with the benefit of the auto stacking as well. Either that or give the salvaging head the boost like on the reclaimer so it's a little faster as at the moment it is just outright outclassed by the vulture. Thanks for a great video and for giving back to your community with these giveaways!
I think the Fortune might be the perfect salvage companion for some larger ships. I could see it pairing very well with the Crucible to fill up on hull materials before going out on repair missions, or with your own fighter, ready to fix it up. Neat little ship :)
Cool video. Looks like a useful ship and I like the auto box loading feature. I've been thinking about getting into salvaging, as I've been enjoying scavenging stuff in Pyro.
honestly, this ship seems totally rad. 12SCU grid, but having that elevator in the back opens up a lot more possibilities for use cases for this ship. i can totally see myself doing salvage, runing deliveries, or even doing bunkers in it!
You can fit two Fortunes or a Fortune and a Prospector in a Polaris hangar, and the Polaris cargo hold takes almost 600SCU on the grid. For a group effort, it might be a fun way to have both protection and salvage capability in Pyro. 2 people out salvaging, one in a pilot/box transfer duty. If there are hostiles approaching, two Polaris turrets can hold most things off.
I like the red paint scheme, I do see this being more of a construction material gather compared to vulture as with a friendly cargo ship along side you can print them out and have them grabbed off the side easily! I think its a good group ship but Vulture is the way to go for RMC for sure. o7
Great content again. The Abrade makes this ship salvage way faster. I think the vulture is still better to fly but the external cargo is pretty handy and the deck on the elevator has snap grids.
They don't double stack, but the elevator has an additional 4 grid slots, and the hallway fits a few more gridless. With an abrade, it is tolerable for scrape speed, and the auto ejected and placed on grid concept *is* convenient. For a solo pilot, this ship is definitely not as good as a Vulture, however as a part of a multi-ship team that collects from an area and is unloaded at a cargo ship style of play those auto side loading 12 grid slots do make things a lot smoother. An interesting variation for a different style of salvage play from the usual solo methodology. (edited for typos)
Agreed-the stock salvage head on the MISC Fortune is definitely on the slower side. I'll be testing an Abrade head if it fits to see if it improves efficiency.
Still love the feeling I get when salvaging with the vulture, down and dirty while scrapping ships, the forture seems like bringing a Cadillac to a mud pit.
its a nice little ship, the prospector is a good ship and I am glad they used the same platform for salvaging, granted it might not be as fast as the vulture, but the looks, and auto ejecting making up for it.
I really like the fortune so far, it’s such a chill experience and the automation makes it insanely simple. I don’t mind that the gameplay is slow because when I salvage I’m not worried about AUEC/hr
I love that new ships are arriving. I didn’t get a vulture yet, I wanted to see more from other manufacturers. It’s got a really nice interior, I may have to borrow one from somebody and give it a go.
I watched a stream where space Tomato was using this ship to salvage while he had a friend in a nomad taking the boxes off the sides and filing up the cargo in the nomad. Using this method you could stay out doing salvage while the cargo vessel fills up, sells the cargo and returns for more.
That is a great idea. May not be better than a Vulture but it adds better flexability when working as a group
I'm very glad they are adding ships in the same bracket from different manafactures as it does help make the world feel more realistic.
Thanks Katie for showing this ship in use. For some reason a lot of creators don't do that. I'm glad you do.
I can see the fortune being useful in a team play scenario, but.... I'm a Drake4Life kinda guy
Fortune is much better in my opinion
The Fortune can hold alot inside of the ship but with the doors its such a waste of time doing it.
I dont know exactlly how much but suposedly Fortune has much more hull and yeah in Vulture you can fit 23+13 I think.
The Fortune comfortably carries 6+6+13+4+3 SCU. 12 on the sides, 13 internal, 4 on the cargo grid and 3 just above the grid by the door.
Hats off to you maintaining content through this years bumpy start, keep up the good work Kate.
I love the automated loading of this ship. Hated having to get out of the seat to move boxes mid run. I do wish we’d get a Mole Salvager cuz I love the Argo aesthetic
Yea - it would be super cool to get an Argo salvage - like 100-125 scu.
Imagine if they made a RAFT salvage. Or MISC could use this auto loading feature on a Hull B salvage variant. 🤔 But I agree we do need something between Vulture / Fortune and Reclaimer sizes.
I would fucking love an Argo Salvager!!! Make the the medium version and ya somewhere around the mole or raft design would be amazing!!!
@@Dracounguis RAFT salvage could poop out 8scu boxes and would fit beautifully up there! (Just ditch the cranes for pads!)
I guess the pro the fortune has over the vulture is that the cargo is on the outside, thus easier to operate with a group of ships.
I could imagine it working well in a team with a C1 (Or any ship with a mounted tractor beam), for quick loading, or maybe I'm wrong here
Salvage is my favorite chill gameplay. Can't wait to try this ship out.
Kate, always love your reviews, straight forward, no nonsense. Love it! Thank you as always!
It would be interesting to see a picture in picture comparison of the time it takes to fill a cargo grid of each respective ship after upgrades are applied
Love the ship, I was waiting the whole time thinking “Can it break hull?” Glad to see it can
Always love the editing on your vids, such a chill vibe
Ahhthe prospector hull, always the best window to stare out of :D
Thanks for the practical review and giveaway! It's always nice to have "sidegrades" for different ships rather than just straight upgrades in the same role.
More player choice for game play loops for something as simple as manufacturer preference. Seems like an absolute win for the player to me.
100% agree.
I like the conscience of it. You only leave your cockpit when your back at the station, no getting up mid journey.
such a gorgeous ship! that paint suits it well.
That's neat how walking through the mid-section of the ship is akin to walking down a docking collar corridor, due to the linear frame design & windows.
Seeing the MFD's close together for this type of ship, muchly welcomed.
The matted two-tone primary colour-scheme throughout is appreciated.

Above all, though - valued coverage of another CIG release.
thank you for giving back to the viewers
Even though statistically the Fortune is worse than the Vulture, I still like the Misc look way more than than the Vulture. Plus, the exterior cargo is a major plus to me.
I like the fortune, not over the vulture, but it still holds up as a ship of its own and I'll definitely get it in game when it comes out
Thank you for the review Kate! I love to salvage and I like how you tested the Fortune out.
the first ship I ever bought was the vulture during 2.23 and sadly it was wiped, but seeing a new salvage ship gives me another chance to hopefully go back to the joys of salvage.
absolute dream ship! I love the salvaging game loop. Probably my favorite one in the game right now. Good to see, that there is now a Misc ship for salvaging.
Thanks for showing off the ship. I like that they did not just kill off the Vulture with this release.
Yea i was kinda feeling the same way with the Fortune, but its starting to grow on me, plus love the bubble glass of the prospector. thank guys.
Definately looking forward to setting up a Fortnure with my Prospector.. now just need a ship to park them both in for a Mothership! Thanks for giving me a look at the ship! Loved the video !
Thanks for showing off this nice little ship.

Thank you for a calming review. Fly safe.
It looks so sick with the paint you're using! Beautiful.
I love the presentation of the ship very informative, thanks!
Your content is top 5 for me as I love to watch the teamwork and hilarity that ensues
While i was really hoping early on this was going to be a med salvage ship, the prospector windshield is dope and its nice to see more ships with awsome visibility for casual loops.
Loved the video Kate. The good thing about the fortune is the auto eject and store. Not having to get up every 2 boxes
Not sure she knew about that feature
Vulture have 13 SCU buffer
You don't have to get up every two boxes on the Vulture?
Hi Kate! Happy to give that Fortune a good test run for ya.
I love the industrial approcach of MISC, cant wait to see this one myself and hopefully add it into MISC lineup
This seams like a great salvage ship that I would fly around thanks for another great video
Always love ya'lls videos. No kidding I'm jealous of the game play I've seen you guys have. You're videos are truly fun to watch. You guys have really made MY game play more enjoyable.
Great review! Thanks for the quality vids!
Love the look of this ship and appreciate the great review aswell 🚀
Nice looking ship, definitely reminiscent of the prospector. I like that paint Job too. Thanks for the info, all in all a pretty useful roundup 😊
Love that they are adding more of a variety of ships to the game! I can't wait to see what they will do in the future with it!

Keep doing these ship reviews - super helpful ❤
It's a good looking ship, that's for sure! Always loved the cockpit of the sister ship and that continues with this
A very tempting ship, thanks again for a another great review.
Auto eject/snap to grid is a must have feature for these type of ship. Makes life so much better for salvaging.
always glad for more ship variety
Woah! Looks awesome, great quality video, thanks!
Thanks for the review. Will def. wanna try it out
The Fortune is a lovely ship with a fantastic panoramic view. Lets hope the internal buffer gets buffed a bit in the future.
Awesome video, Katie. I was thinking of procuring one for myself.
Cool little ship. Love the cockpit view like the Prospector.

You trade scraping speed for the convenience of boxes of salvage being automatically stacked on the exterior cargo grid. Those red and gold paint schemes look fantastic too!
I'd love to take one of these for a spin. I really like the view in the Fortune and I am intrigued by how quickly you could offload your cargo.
I think it's a really vibey little ship! Loved the Prospector, and I can see myself using the Fortune too for sure!

i do like the paint scheme. Very nice video Kate.

the ability to craft fuses, multitools and other various items you might need in the verse is such a cool feature
I love this ship, I love all the MISC ships
Even though the MISC ships are always sleep and pretty, there's something nice about that Drake rough design that fits in so well with salvage.
You can fit two Fortunes or a Fortune and a Prospector in a Polaris hangar, and the Polaris cargo hold takes almost 600SCU on the grid. For a group effort, it might be a fun way to have both protection and salvage capability in Pyro.

Nice little ship, I do enjoy the salvage gameplay loop
Fun tip: if you use a abrade head you get wider fan or salvaging

I love the storage grid for a salvage ship!
I like it. It might not be super fast, but for a chill time salvaging, I think it’s got style
Still love the feeling I get when salvaging with the vulture, down and dirty while scrapping ships, the forture seems like bringing a Cadillac to a mud pit.
I don't know why, but I really love the way the rear landing legs look on the Fortune.
Glad we got a competitor for the vulture I really hope CID continues this and gives us more options/ competition with industry ships
good to see new non combat ships of different manufacturers.. it's much needed
Thanks for the review!
I'm all for more options in a game loop I enjoy - cheers!
Fortune looks cool, i hope it will find its place!
Love Salvaging btw!
nice video. been trying to make up my mind on a salvage ship for a bit. this will help.
Looks nice and that you can see it eject outside and auto add the the cargo grid is nice
its a nice little ship, the prospector is a good ship and I am glad they used the same platform for salvaging, granted it might not be as fast as the vulture, but the looks, and auto ejecting making up for it.
I think the Fortune fits in well together with the Prospector as sort of industry starters provided by the same manufacturer.
The red festival paint looks so good on the Fortune!
Nice demo of the Fortune. Have to give it a try myself one of these days.
I can see it being great for a fleet ship. With a cutty or something flying around scooping the boxes from multiple ships.
