I have about 30 mics of all types and the M3 is definitely the most versatile mic of all for me - more so than a 57 easily. There's nothing I've found it doesn't work at least decently on. If a home studio guy or person starting out could only have one mic I think it should definitely be an M3!
Im thinking of getting the M3 but how do you think it compares to something like the rode m5 ? I’m looking for a pencil condenser to record podcast a streaming
Sir can I get professional voice on Rode Podmic ? Can i recording poetry ? my room is not sound proof. The sound of fan coming from outside also comes inside.
Just like to say that people should try using a foam sock on any vocal mic, not just because it reduces plosives but it protects the capsule and it keeps the mic clean, free from germs or other filth. Another important feature of the foam sock is it actually catches more of your voice especially when you're using a condenser mic, a lot more noticeable on a AKG-C1000s. Singing into a mic at 45 degree angle will allow for better clarity of mid-range vocals without any boominess.
The M3 has arguably a better sound than the M2 to most peoples ear but it's kind of subjective stuff. I go for the M2 as I find it allows me to get right up on the mic without any issues and works great for live recordings. Either will do the job but the M2 might be slightly more directional which is very helpful.
2' 22" Of course the M2 sounds 'boxy' compared to the NT-1. You're holding it right next to your mouth instead of 6 inches away behind a pop screen. For comparisons to be any use, they have to be actual comparisons!
G’day Shane, thanks for making this great video, mate. If you were to recommend just one mic, predominantly for podcasting, booming over dialogue and voice over...which would you choose between the RODE M3 and M2?
Good work, please continue your hard work. How is your experience with Rode M3 mic, can we use is without audio interface using 9V battery ? Can we connect Rode M3 directly with 9V battery using xlr to 3.5 mm cable to mobile phone or iPad and record ?
The M3 is definitely the most versatile and sound better to my ears: I've bought 2 of it! The fact it could be powered by battery is a real advantage. For the same reason I've chosen a Shure VP88, which allows M-S or multi stereo patterns: adding a Triton feathead compensate its main weakness concerning self noise... But this one is much more expensive!

Agreed! It's a total beast. Thanks for the comments!

The Podmic is great if you have a good quality preamp and pop filter
@@GeekyNerdyTechy Sir, Can you Suggest me Equipment?

Sir , can you tell me which mic is best m2 or m3 according to you, and please tell me which audio interface you are using.
They sound good

Hi what cable do you use? I don’t really know about cables. I’m trying to buy rode microphones but cables aren’t included so ☹️

Sweet! Thanks.
What is the music you used on the end...? love it!
It's part of the free music RUclips provide. There's some really killer tracks.
I love Rode.
I was going to say the same

SM58 an SM57 sound exactly like the SM7B with minimal eq - they all sound great but of course they don't look as sexy as many other mics
That Beta 58a sounds fake to me... They should sound significantly better than that. Sounds closer to one of the many rip off fakes to my ears...
