ITS SAD WHEN A TRUCK HAS GOTTEN SO BAD THAT IT IS ONLY GOOD FOR PARTS. THAT IS WHERE THIS TRUCK IS. THE CAB IS SHOT. THE FRAME IS JUNK. IT IS JUST PARTS.
Wow! One good bounce over some railroad tracks and that thing would be dragging parts! I'm glad the parts are going to be reused. My son has 2 of the Ryobi fans and loves them. The plant he works at as a maintenance electrician isn't climate controlled. He can drag one of those fans under the machinery and be a bit more comfortable. Thanks for having us along JC! Cheers Terry BTW, my leg is healing nicely. I came so close to losing it. It scared the poo out of me. T
JCS, glad to see the good parts going to be used again! The frame is a shocker, the only thing holding it together is grim determination! Also glad you are who you are and not trying to slap lipstick on a pig that would be a danger on the road! Kudos for that!
Great video J.C.Smith really enjoy watching you disassemble this truck removing the cab and transmission. The pedal assembly from the cab for the clutch and rear mount. The shift tower too thanks for sharing stay safe Mr & Mrs J.C.Smith.
That The best part is, is this the front end that I'm reading at the nose of the truck. But yeah, that no one would arrest it to truck. His c*** shoot start terrible. But you'll get it done, bro, you'll get it done.
Ya, I don’t think there’s enough spray foam and JB weld on this planet to fix that frame LOL! At least there were some good salvageable parts you could get from it👍
Like you said parts out what you can as parts are getting harder to find if not cost more to fabrircate. to rebuild old units.and scrapping the bad parts are easy to ride of
I know double frames are horrible for rust jacking and rotting out but I'm not sure I've seen one THAT bad. There's literally more rust than metal left to that frame. Still kind of sad seeing an L9000 coming to it's end but this one's clearly well beyond saving. At least all the good parts get to keep living helping other trucks like it stay working
I had 2 trucks recently that were at least as bad as that , I’m a highway dept mechanic, our old 95 international 4800 4x4s 2 trucks double frames , I may still have pictures.right between the cab and dump body the double frames tend to open like clam shells under the lift hoist assembly.Yiu can fit your fingers between the frames in certain spots. We robbed the frame mounted stainless vbox spreader off one of them it was downright ugly under there .
Could you give me a round about on the cost to shorten a truck frame and move the rear axle forward? I want to buy a used uhaul gmc5500 and shorten it to dump truck size for a 10 or 12 ft dump body. And where are you located as well
With that being said ran 2 of the 8000 ford's for many years both front set axel configuration and loved them had a great ride on hendrix walking beam suspension.
Nice job on the teardown J.C 😎👍
Thanks for another great & entertaining video JC& Mrs Smith I always give you a 👍I always tune in to see what you are working on

I continue to marvel at how you put order into what appears to be chaos. Great video and well done.
Kinda sad to see the old iron going away, but they don’t last forever and the parts will serve other iron to keep moving
thanks J.C.
“No, get out of there”. Gotta protect your over eager helper from rushing in and getting hurt. Sure do like how you both get to work together.

I have the dewalt equivalent of that fan and it is awesome to be able to take a fan anywhere

😢 history deleted but saved in pieces.

Really looking forward to the cab over.
At least you were able to sell parts from it. Are you saving the engine also?
safelight can fix that star chip easy that stainless side box if its in good shape is worth a bit as well
Looks like you have a supersized, nice looking tool box , that you can use off of it.

I wouldnt do it for any less than $5k. it takes a lot of time to do it the way i do.
I think a drop of oil got stuck in the Gradall boom. 🤣🤣
Is the L9000 an old United Dairy truck from Martins Ferry, OHIO??
That would make a great planter.
What a rust pile that used to be called a truck .
So much rust, can it even have any value to be scrapped?
Is the international durastar for sale?
Another bites the rust
We never want set back axel trucks I can't fathom beyond local use what the reason for to order them would be .
With that being said ran 2 of the 8000 ford's for many years both front set axel configuration and loved them had a great ride on hendrix walking beam suspension.
Air horns and pull switch?
that is a LTS-9000
You use everything you possibly can from everything
