Am I the only one that is super impressed by how easily he moves from the left hand to the right hand with the knives? Great work and thanks for the content.
Great job done. Transformation is amazing. I could have used you on my 41 year old quarter horse. He had an exposed coffin bone. I couldn't get a farrier to come. Had vet exrays. The coffin bone was setting right just exposed because of thin sole. I used vet wrap to keep the infection down for six months. He got down the day after Christmas and We couldn't get him up so I had to do the most difficult thing I had ever done and had him put down. He was like one of my children. I raised him from birth off my mare. I'm still grieving from his loss. So I watch videos of people helping horses in need because they can't talk for themselves. So thank you. 😊
Wow, 41! That’s a long time he was with you. I’m sorry he was in hoof pain at the end. We lost our 35 yr old mare last year due to colic. Hard to believe she’s gone.
@@Peterthefarrier -it sounds it! 🐴❤️and the view is probably nice aswell 🐴❤️🐴🐴 (soz for the horse emojis i can’t control myself since i found them haha!!)🤣
Hi Peter. I'm not into horses. They are amazing animals and I love watching them. But I've gained a lot of respect for the work you do, my friend. This is not a nail treatment like the women get. This is necessary and important for the horse. Because if you don't do your job well, it can just become a lame horse. Hence the respect for what you do and the way you do it. Kind regards from the Netherlands, Toine.
The was amazing. When I first saw her foot I was mortified. She seems to be a very kind and gentle horse, I am glad you were able to transform that nasty looking hoof. Keep up the great work! ❤️
Awww, Molly is so beautiful, but a bit naughty for kicking her stable walls, I'm guessing she does it so you come back to trim her😂, hopefully her owner can get to the bottom of it, such an awesome job Peter, thank you so much for posting, looking forward to seeing your next video, take care Peter.👍💙🐎
@Peterthefarrier He's hale and hearty. Good as new as he would say. All is well on that front Peter. Just biding our time for another storm front to come through, it has another Tornado warning attached just like yesterday's storm did. We had to put 40 horses into the indoor riding arena to keep them safe. As they only have a run in shelter out in their pasture. And that's not enough protection if a Tornado comes through. But the indoor Arena was built to withstand an F3 Tornado. So we bring them inside. It's safer for them.
@Peterthefarrier Not in our end of town, which is by the airport. But in the more rural areas we did have quite a bit of tree damage from a tornado that touched down. Just tree damage and loss of power to some folks for a few hours. No lives lost or houses damaged, thank goodness. Last year, we had 3 tornados that did damage to a lot of property, and 2 ambulances couldn't get their patients through to the hospital. One was a critical case. He didn't make it, unfortunately. The other one was fine.
This is one of the very few cases where I had expected the use of an epoxy resin to avoid thinning the hoof wall too much. But you used such skill that I'm astounded. Thank you for sharing.
A power cut here yesterday so I am late to the party... Another super informative and enjoyable video, thank you Peter. Love to see the subscription numbers rising all the time. ❤
Of course, it doesn`t look like a real frog, but there is a technical term for almost every cubic decimetre of a horse (and human, dog, cat, bird etc.etc.etc.).
Lwo Wow! Beautuful, brand new, shining hooves for a beautiful, gentle and lovely lady. You make wonders for these lovely creatures. Thank you so much for sharing with us all the experience.😀🐎🐴
Very Interesting. Love watching you work. It seems to me almost counter intuitive to file down the hoof wall. Making the wall thinner would weaken it further. It must work or you wouldn’t do it. What is the the rationale behind this? Is the treatment you add at the end cosmetic or therapeutic?
They’re definitely was a lot of rasping with this horse. A lot more than normal. If the splits and chips are left in they will just travel up more. A bit like if you chip your nail and it is not cut back more ends up chipping and coming off.
@@Peterthefarrier That makes sense. I have a horse with a minor split and my Farrier never touches the hoof wall. Actually never does on any of our horses. Different schools of thought I guess. Love to see a follow up on this one if you get the chance
Awesome job 🥰Peter. Could you do me a favor if you think of it down the road? Could you ask that girl what is the brand of her boots? I've been looking for some just like hers. Many thanks.
The cause of this is the horse kicking the stable wall. Sometimes a shoe can help but sometimes they kick that hard they can twist the shoe into the hoof causing more damage. I guess it depends how hard they are kicking.

I have only seen a few of your videos so far, but I don't see many horseshoes. I am from the United States and most or all of the horses I have seen are shod. Is that not common in the UK? Would horseshoes have prevented the kind of cracking seen on Molly here?
i've noticed that British farriers cleanup/dress the top of the hoof and apply hoof-oil, but American farriers do not. Any reason why? (Given some of the climates in the US, i'm surprised hoof-oil isn't used!)

Great improvement 😊
Great job !!
Nice work!
If there's ever a case for top-dressing a hoof, this is certainly it!!
That horse has a haircut like Duane Dibley from Red Dwarf. 😄
Can ou use an epoxy on it or like women's nails, they use varnish
i forgot to ask - do you still trim Blade? i was going over your old videos and i love that horse and his massive hoof!❤🐴

Would horse shoes save the hoofs from wearing down so badly? Excellent work

Do watch alot of the USA ones ?
When you’re 9 and you cut your own bangs hehe just kidding. Really great job on that hoof!!!
I have questions. Have you ever considered using parade boots like tough guards ? On horses with damage like that.
Where are these horses from ohmygod😮
Would a horse shoe prevent that from happening or is it a weakness

dumb question: why do you have specific knives for your left and right hands? why not a double-edge?
Too much time on the concrete surfaces. But you sorted it no problem 👍

Her name is Molly. I don’t think my accent helps at times 😂
Do the ponies and horses ever get tickly feet?

WOW!
nice save of her feet
Thank you
How are chips like this formed??
Extremely random but I feel like you could actually be a hand model. You have some of the nicest male hands I've ever seen in my life.
if molly is used to or was raised primarily outside than a stall is closed in and restrictive. Poor girl wants her pasture back.
Why do some horses have shoes and others don’t?
Melhor q o Renatão
I am wondering how their feet get so bad. Can’t imagine their pasture
I feel sorry for this one. No one paid a little closer attention.
Use glue to fil the gaps. )
No gaps on the outside. It is all flush. I should have got a better angle of it.
Interesting. Maybe she is kicking the stable walls because she is spending too much time in the stable? She wants out?
Крек нужно снимать полностью , иначе будет еще больший крек
Why do people who ride them don't do this befor
Horse looks sad
THOSE FETLOCKS SHOULD BE TRIMED RIGHT DOWN TO PREVENT CRACKED HEALS AND ALSO THE HOOVES SHOULD BE TREATED WITH HOOF FLEX
ONCE A DAY.
Good job👌
