For the kick-off episode of our "Hometown" series - in which we visit bands' birthplaces and explore how the locales influence their creative vision - Revolver travels to the farmlands of Lancaster, Pennsylvania: the home of metalcore outfit August Burns Red. Watch guitarist JB Brubaker trace ABR's success back to the hardworking ideals inherent in the rural community, while drummer Matt Greiner takes us on a tour of his family's farm - including the egg room practice space where ABR wrote their first album Thrill Seeker - and reveals how he dealt with the guilt of playing metal while his dad was outside harvesting corn. - Видеоклипы
How on earth could you dislike this!?!?!?? Its beautiful how down to earth these guys are.
I didn't and wouldn't dislike this because of the band, but it looked like it was directed by a dude who just bought a new drone, wanted to use it, and this was his excuse.
eggcellent idea!
They should shoot a music video in that egg room. It would be lit!
TutiNatiaTa PB i second this
up
TutiNatiaTa PB. Agreed!
Farmcore! 🐔 Luv ABR! 🔥
These guys are one of my biggest inspirations. Seeing them push and work hard from such humble beginnings really gets me motivated to not stop playing music and to work hard myself. Not to mention their lyrics helping motivate, inspire, and get me though tough times. If you guys read this, thank you so much for everything you've done.
Yeah, man, ABR really has some good vibes and I think it's the music that best pushes me up. We keep rocking, man!!!
Anyone know the song at the end during the credits?
That opening should be the tourism video for Lancaster
these dudes are so chill and cool! and nice farm.
I can't believe they wrote these amazing albums in that space
this nice farm scenery with metal over it is hilarious lmao
Exactly, the scenery doesn't match the music XD
I guess you can say all there albums are eggcellent
that got me _cracking_ up. no? okay.
TheRealLifeOfBrick *their
Omelette you have this one...😎
that is the most metal cornfield I think I have ever seen
Metalcorn
I would totally buy a chunk of that wall with all the set lists and random stuff.
They go so fucking hard. One of the most underrated bands there is because of how technical they are. Never misses a beat.
Greetings from Nicaragua- Central America. It is always amazing to realize that we all have a simple beginning, but that when we maintain humility, God exalts us. Dear Matt Greiner (August Burns Red) thank you for the example of being grounded, not forgetting our origins, knowing where we come from, where we are and where we are going! God bless you all!
As someone who comes from a little podunk town that looks very similar, I can definitely understand how strong work ethic comes from living in these places, and I've seen firsthand how it transfers into your work ethic in a band. I've always said that ABR are one of the hardest working bands in the metal genre, and I can see why now. This was super cool to see.
I grew up in/around Amish country, northeast of Columbus, OH-(IO lol). Very simplistic way of life. Love ABR, y’all rock
Humble beingings. I love it.
And i haven't encountered 1 person to ever say anything bad or negative about ABR.
This is awesome! Thanks for the video.
Love this so so much. I think I'm gonna listen to them with a newfound respect for them from now on.
I feel like I watched a super historic documentary...
The best records are always written in places you wouldn't expect, of circumstances you wouldn't expect. Constellations is one of the best metalcore albums ever written. Period.
Dude thrill seeker was the sound track to my high school days. Thank you for all the music you all have produced throughout the years.
Grew up in Lebanon County which is right next to Lancaster these guys were definitely famous around here while I was growing up.
I lived in Lancaster for a few years its amish and its ghetto u see amish passing thru the hood with horse carriages while theres Puerto Rican reggeton playing or rap playing its an interesting city
Very cool. Truly humble. I like them even more now.
I love August Burns Red, super cool that they're from PA too, I'm like 20 mins from Lancaster
5:20 LIFE IN YOUR WAY goddamn. One of the best bands at the time.
This is just great! Like really great!
There’s something about the aerial shots over Amish country and farmland and playing ABR over it that’s awesome
Humble beginnings!
How about that; a Metal band from the heart of Pennsylvania Dutch Country who learned all about hard work thanks to how they were raised & why they practiced even in a chicken farm
I live an hour away from these guys. Lancaster is a great place.
Glad that after all this time they stayed right where they are and didn't buy into the industry crap about moving to Cali, or Austin, or New York. I think that plays a big role in how long they've lasted.
Do a music video in the egg room !
Why does Matt’s voice keep cracking so hard lol awesome though, I’ve been supporting abr since the day in freshmen year of high school a friend played ‘’composure’’ I fell in love and have seen them 7-8 times and loved every album since then. these guys have been so successful because of their amazing dedication and work ethic.\m/
I actually don’t live too far from Lancaster that’s so cool they started somewhere close to were I grew up
i live in new york an theres amish who ride the bikes up and down the rd and sometimes im in my garage practicing White Washed by you guys on my guitar and they will ride by staring at my garage. little did I know that the amish in PA have probably done the same thing haha
ive been a big fan of abr but i didnt realize they wrote all those albums in that space
I loved the cow moshpit
best b roll soundtrack ever ;)
I want video in that egg room!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
whats crazy is they are in Amish Country which is probably the last place you would find a metal band but their they are.
I live in Lancaster. Metal bands are a dime a dozen here thanks to ABR haha
This needs more views... what the fuck?! The count is far too low for this quality video. The series sounds sick, can’t wait to see what other bands are covered.
No phone, no tv, no internet. Living in an omish paradise
Abr is the best
Haha that intro is so fucking perfect. Lol
It looks exactly like where you start a metal band.
Definitely record/tape a song in the egg room.
Instead of a pre-breakdown "ding", incorporate an audio bit of an egg cracking
I'm pretty sure their very first recordings were done in that room.
So fucking cool
just moved to lancaster
Better start a metal band now!
bro !!!! 5:23 zao !!
Here is a twist.
August burns red but country music
With all these genres floating around, they should be under melodic hardcorn metal.
Maybe add some "Progressive" or "Math" to the mix
I have always wondered why ABR's music videos are in open fields
They desperately need to film a music video in the egg room!
I think you mean you* desperately want then to
Looks a lot like Lancaster, Ohio.
America
MEEEEEEETAL!!!
Matt's random voice cracks? xd
I just asked my Amish neighbors if they have heard you August burns red, they had no idea what I was talking about
Matt, sign my chicken bro!!!
holyyy shit so much awesome muxic created in a giant shed... wtf am i doing with my life lol
What's that first song?

Matt’s voice cracks tho
The practice place would be lit to hangout and smoke weed and play music
Just bodies through the teeth of the combine.

Shalom Maldonado hey regardless, thanks dude lol
same thing as texas lol badass though
Wow a Amish band? C👀L As long as it's not frowned on by the Bishop!! I watch Amish haunting and they really have to strict of rules from outside influences. Like having electricity👀 I would move far away to be with the Englishers lol.!!
Poultrygressive hardcorn metal
Amishcore.
Well that explains their thoughts on porn being the same as sex slavery🤣
what do you mean?
Hey! Jesus loves you! He died for your sins on the cross and rose again 3 days later! All you need to do to accept Gods gift is believe in him and what he did, And you need to repent(turn from sin and follow Jesus) and ask him for forgiveness in prayer. And remember that Jesus is God! He is three in one, the father, the son, and the Holy Spirit! Have a good day:)
