The story is based on a 500 year old Chinese novel called Journey to the west. About the journey of a Buddhist monk to the west to retrieve Buddhist scriptures. Accompanying him as guards are the monkey king and two others. One a fallen deity and a reformed demon. The monkey king inspired Goku.
Eh? I'd say he was always pretty recognizable. Goku, Inuyasha, Luffy, Sonson, League of Legends Wukong, Monkie Kid, Xiba. The list goes on for characters based on him.

Please remove the hardsubs...those are totally annoying and make it painful to watch music videos these days...great song, great visuals, damaged by hardsubbing the subtitles. I don't get that trend for hardsubs expecially in the middle of the screen, make them softsubs so people can turn them off if they know english or a version without subs
Honestly, i dont like it. Its too soft for a character like wukong at least in my opinion. Its a good song dont get me wrong just doesnt really fit the character for me. It lacks intensity for a being such as wukong know as the victorious fighting buddha. I noticed that a lot of characters that i expected to have intense songs dont but ate softer which to me doesnt make sense but again not saying their bad songs on the contrary their good but feel lacking. Thats just my opinion and personal taste i guess.
