I would prefer that a school (private or public) struggle with tight budgets than cave to the equity framework. I would volunteer to help with maintenance projects and painting school walls etc. like we had to do back in the day. Kids can survive with one less bathroom for example until maintenance has time to get to it.
Deb, this is so spot on! As a board member I have attended some of these PD classes. One was Mental Health First Aid where at the end they recommend asking kids if they are thinking of suicide and have a plan! The most recent was a “Newcomers Summit” on what to do with all the incoming “migrants”. I see that there is nothing I will be able to change so for the next 3-1/2 years I’ll just throw sand in the gears and be a thorn in the side. So frustrated.
Ugh. I went to Rowan University. Thankfully I have never donated as an alumni. My husband got a great education in civil engineering. I was a sorority girl that cared more about socializing than my graphic design degree. My how things have changed! This is THE teacher school of so. Jersey tho. I’m not surprised.

So sad that the goals are so low for the district. I’d want my child to be very proficient in all areas.
I wonder if they are going to give the current conditions in South Africa after many years of ousting the European members of government.
