    Marty Friedman had no issue with them in Cacophony with Jason Becker, who was a god at sweeping, and dabbled with them in Megadeth too. But I guess times and styles change as he "perfected his sound / style". No different to Paul Gilbert who sweeped in Racer X but now massively favours string skipping arpeggios.

    • @DustinAlford

      I could listen to Jason Becker's sweeps all day. If I remember correctly he did a version of the hot for teacher solo with a whole lot of sexy tapped arpeggios.

    MAB, could you explain someday why you tilt your right hand to almost vertical (across strings) when you are picking fast? Is it to attack the strings smoother?

    • @MFKR696
      @MFKR696 4 года назад +1

      I know I'm not the one you wanted an answer from, but I'll try anyways. It likely has more to do with lining up the muscles and tendons of the forearms and hands, which makes it easier to play fast without injuring yourself.

    • @kiloharrington6839
      @kiloharrington6839 4 года назад

      He does it so that the pick will jump over the string so that it will be ready to hit the string above,because if he doesn't upward or downward occupant at some times then his pick would get stuck in between the strings that he doesn't want to pick,search up troy Grady Michael Angelo batio conquering the scale,its very eye opening and it helped me very much with my picking

    I don't really have anything against sweep-picking, and I never have. I just can't do it lol. These fingers weren't built for that kind of flyin. I'm more of a riffing Knuckle-Dragger than anything else lol. If a song calls for a solo, I'd have no problem asking someone with more talent than me to do it. My ego is in no need of buttressing.
