That is because the components and tech in your BMW is better. Having to look at a big screen in the middle of the car feels like old-tech to me aswell. Most of the other manufacturers have the turn signal cancel by pressing in the opposite direction (like the classic mechanical stalks where the stalk actually held its position and turning the steering wheel back lifted it over the gate, there you obviously had to press in the opposite direction (actually, you had to return it to neutral) if you wanted to cancel before the steering wheel canceled it.
Well done , congrats showing us about Lucid. The car looks Ok, but, clearly not so different than EQS for example , to have such a high price. Probably a plus is avoiding air suspension if it is comfortable, because of lower cost for repairs and, probably less weight. The panoramic window is possibly a minus în some countries where big trucks are projecting small stones into the glass which probably is very expensive to repair. I heard that the one pedal driving is not as efficient than coasting with neutral at least some ev models. It would be nice to see some test to determine if it is so
This has been known for ages. The most efficient way of driving is without regenerative braking as recovering energy while regenbraking comes with a big loss of energy in the conversion process. In the end you'll be able to reuse about a third of the energy when braking. This is why slowing down with regenerative braking should only be done when you really need to slow down for something.
Yes some cars use the breaks instead of regen breaking on one pedal driving, only god knows why... On a Tesla its definitly no efficency lose, cause you dont break, accelerate, break, accelerate... If you know how to drive with it, the car is not wasting any energy
Yes, coasting is more energy efficient, but EVs are so efficient no one cares unless it's an electron hog, or your electricity is stupid expensive. I only pay 10.7 cents per kWh. I prefer regen and one-pedal operation because my car gets 3.7 miles per kWh.
I'd like to know if this brand really can justify its price point. Undoubtedly loads of wealthy people will be buying the air and the sapphire in a heart beat. The question is will Lucid survive in this price segment?
Mercedes is a great brand, but Lucid is a great car. Tough decision, if long trips are your target anyways this car has much more range than the EQS (there are tests at 112 Km/h done in the US that proof a 800 km range with that speed, which is just crazy)

In the end you'll be able to reuse about a third of the energy when braking. This is why slowing down with regenerative braking should only be done when you really need to slow down for something.
@Hans But isn't reusing a third more efficient than having no energy to be able to reuse?
Yes some cars use the breaks instead of regen breaking on one pedal driving, only god knows why... On a Tesla its definitly no efficency lose, cause you dont break, accelerate, break, accelerate... If you know how to drive with it, the car is not wasting any energy
Yes, coasting is more energy efficient, but EVs are so efficient no one cares unless it's an electron hog, or your electricity is stupid expensive. I only pay 10.7 cents per kWh. I prefer
regen and one-pedal operation because my car gets 3.7 miles per kWh.
I'd like to know if this brand really can justify its price point. Undoubtedly loads of wealthy people will be buying the air and the sapphire in a heart beat. The question is will Lucid survive in this price segment?
That lucid guy have de charisma of a stone
I'd take bev motor noise over ice engine noise any day of the week.
We now waiting for 1000km challenge, but if Lucid get launched in my country I will have a tough decision to make between the LAGT or EQS450+
Mercedes is a great brand, but Lucid is a great car. Tough decision, if long trips are your target anyways this car has much more range than the EQS (there are tests at 112 Km/h done in the US that proof a 800 km range with that speed, which is just crazy)
@@gabrielecomensoli2787 great was the video from out of spec?
@@gabrielecomensoli2787 great car? It's barely on the market and has no proven track record. I doubt it will be a 100 year company like Mercedes Benz.
Looks like a very nice car. One problem I find with EVs is that all these new brands seem to be concentrated exclusively on expensive high end luxury cars. Where’s the (successful) startup with the cheap electric cars for ‘the normal everyday customer’? Sono Sion is not happening…
They need to scale up production to get costs down. They all start with pricey models, even GM and Ford. Just like how flat screens used to be expensive.
You can definitely hear the electric motors noise in the video.
Like how everyone suddenly saying this is the tesla killer, maybe if they can make a million a year for less than 50k otherwise better to look at them separately, different markets. More of a porsche or mercedes killer than a tesla killer.
And ppl. who buy a Mercedes or Porsche they still will buy a .. gues what mercedes or Porsche .. I dont think lucid has any chance. They are simply to late on the game to release a 200k € car and expecting it to be a success. If the car would be awesome in every aspect maybe.. But the Infotainment is laggy as fuck, the Software unfinished, no adaptive air suspension on that price ?? Nothing makes this car special. Efficency wont be that much better then other top cars, my gues is that in the winter its even worse then a Tesla. They already facing demand problems :D
