    I have had paraffin wax baths at home for 12 years. They’re fantastic! I have Rheumatoid arthritis, and it really helps, especially during the winter or on cold, damp days. Apply a very light coat of Aquafor moisturizer before you dip, and your hands will be super moisturized, as well; the heat helps it penetrate the skin.

      It really does make your skin feel better I love it for my hand pain!! Also, you could try the Aquaphor after the treatment, to seal in the moisture and get better results. Oil based ointments like Aquaphor and Vaseline actually prevent moisture from penetrating the skin as they should, because they contain oil, which makes a water-proof barrier over your skin, but it can be used to trap moisture after a treatment! Just my two cents as I'm a training cosmetologist 💖

    so what is the difference between this and hot water?

    • @D1sc0rd-
      @D1sc0rd- 2 года назад +4

      The paraffin wax is better than water, it’s not just a gimmick.
      My feet are always cold so sometimes I’ll fill a big bowl of hot water and dip my feet in, but I have to do it really slowly because even at a safe temperature it hurts. Even if it’s just a hot tub, which is about 104°, it hurts to step into it because it’s such a shock to my body.
      Most important benefit is this; water has the highest thermal capacity by far meaning that it will retain heat longer than anything else, but that is actually not the best when it comes to heat therapy. Paraffin wax is also excellent at retaining heat, but the way it stores and releases that heat is different than water. Paraffin wax is meant to be heated to 125° for heat therapy; If you put your left hand in a bowl of 125° water and your right hand in a bowl of 125° paraffin wax, you’re going to feel instant pain in your left hand and pull it out, but your right hand will feel comfortably hot. The wax effectively blankets your skin on contact, trapping the heat against your skin constantly. In addition tap water dries out your skin and can make it wrinkly whereas paraffin wax will moisturize it.

      lee mason, I use this on my husband's feet all the time. He has very painful arthritis. We do three things in rotation for his feet. Every day we do one of the following: 1)Soaking feet in 3 cups ebson salt, pinch of cyanne pepper and ginger powder to help his feet absorb the salts more. Soak for 30 min in really hot water in a bucket with water level just above his ankles. We buy ebson salt by the 25kg bag we use so much of it. 2)We also have a Aqua Chi, ionic foot bath for pulling out toxins from his feet. 30 mins each treatment. 1500$usd for that machine but worth every penny. 3)Pariffen wax then wrap in plastic and towels for 15 - 20 mins. Like I said every night we do one so twice a week he's getting each treatment. He now can sleep without screaming out in pain. Even now through winter here in Canada he's just fine. Worth every penny we spent investing in the equipment to help him. He now never uses his opioids. Before he was using daily oxycodone just to get through the days/nights and it never took the pain away, just made it more tolerable. Even on 40-60mg oxycodone daily! And the withdrawal was horrible for pain. He says these natural treatments we now do actually kill his pain completely! I'll say that again, his pain is completely gone!! No more pain pills!!!!! I hope what I've said helps someone in need. We understand the struggle of arthritis.

    You NEVER EVER put the used wax back into the bath! You need to always wash your hands or feet first with an antibacterial soap and then use a moisturizing lotion if your hands are extremely dry or chapped without any open lesions before dipping one hand to treat at a time.
    I don’t care if it is your own bath and no one else uses it. You will contaminate the paraffin and need to clean the bath after cooling and removing the contaminated paraffin!
    Trust me, I was a licensed cosmetologist for 20+ years and owned my salon just short of 10 years. My state’s safety and sanitation regulations were followed to the T.
