Great video bro! I just installed mine in my Scat Pack and had a question for you. Does yours transmit a rattle chatter kinda sound after install? I'm guessing it's just all the solid billet aluminum amplifying transmission noise but have no one else to ask how theirs sounds. The shifts are lit and I hope this is just a normal side effect
I don't notice that sound on mine. Can you record it and make a reaction video and maybe we can diagnose it? Also, did you have fun with the passenger side locking pin?
@@JayVig I called barton and they gave me some advice. That rear mounting block has an offset rectangle around the bolt stud to accommodate for different variances in vehicles shift tunnels so if the little offset block hits the right or left side of the rectangle hole then you remove that whole rear mounting block and flip it 180°. This was the case for mine and that quited it down about 50%. Difference between yours and mine too is that I bought the flat stick with the ball vs your Pistol grip. The ball being hollow inside transmitted a bunch of noise too I think mainly because it's huge hollow space inside was acting like a speaker box. To remedy this I filled it with goop epoxy and let it dry overnight and that quieted it down a little more. I ordered the Pistol grip last night direct from Barton so hopefully I will see it in a couple of weeks and maybe that will silence it. If it's normal I don't mind. But if it's a throw out bearing going about at 7000 miles then I am definitely concerned. If the Pistol style doesn't quiet down the chatter I'll install the factory shifter and take it in under warranty. The chatter/rattle is only under moderate acceleration and not under mild or hard full throttle throttle runs and wasnt there or noticable with the sloppy stock shifter. And if I hold my stick and shifter ball firmly like it's a Pistol grip there is not sound at all which leads me to believe it's all that cnc'd aluminum transmitting the transmission noise through the skinny flat stick and the plastic ball. Hope so anyways! And yeah bro I will absolutely get a recording of it this weekend and post it up so you can hear it and also anyone else who might have a question about it with their install. Thanks for hitting me right back too. I appreciate that 💯 🤜🏼🤛🏼💪🏼👍🏼
@@benzlick All of that makes sense. It's entirely possible I was lucky in the direction of my rear mounting block plus the pistol plus the fact that i'm sure you can install 50 of these and somehow get 51 different experiences that vary ever so slightly. This is great information. Thanks for sharing. Can't wait to hear the results of the pistol install. Anything is better than that thing they put in at the factory!
@@JayVig Did something last night that I hadn't thought of which was just drive it with the shifter ball off. Did that and the amplified chatter is 90% gone. Probably to just what is normal for solid billet aluminum shifter with stiff bushings vs sloppy stock. Filled the empty space with dense foam rubber and that pretty much cured it, so in a few weeks when my pistol grip and also the solid brass ball come it should be problem solved. Now I feel more confident that it's not a bearing or something in the trans about to fall apart! Lol!
