When I bought my Barton there was ONE video on it. First mod. Best mod. The stock shifter is a wire coat hanger in comparison. My mechanic test drove my ‘10 RT after putting a Maggie on and was really impressed with the shifter. That’s all he talked about, not the extra 120 hp to the wheels!

I installed mine last year, this year while driving I found a noise in my shifter. I opened it up and lost post of those retaining pins that hold the shaft forks. So Warning, make sure you lock them into place fully. I had to order them online because dodge local didnt carry them. Not a big surprise, it's not really something that would wear out. Just me being a dumb ass and not ensuring they were locked in. However, this shift is day and night different than the stock shifter, more positive feel and easier shifting all around. Great video. I put a Barton Shifter in my 2015 Challenger SRT 392 and love it. It gives you SO much more confidence in the 2nd to 3rd gear shift!. And as you said, it helps a lot in just knowing what gear you're in. BTW ... the centering springs will loosen up a little and the 4th to 5th shift will get a little easier. Oh ... and take a look at Speed Dawg shift knobs. The extra size and weight of the Speed Dawg knob makes the Barton even better! Does your project car have a Skip Shift Eliminator? Very easy mod that's well worth it for city driving. Sorry for the ramble!

I run a full SRT exhaust on my '12 R/T Challenger w/manual trans. That's everything from factory shorty headers and SRT mid pipes with a 3" Flowmaster American Thunder cat back exhaust out the back. Low end is unchanged and it picked up a buttload of mid and top end power. It will also pass an emissions test with flying colors as I used factory exhaust parts with 02 sensors in stock locations. This car has never set a code after this mod, and I even went over to CA and had one of their smog test stations do an inspection on it just to verify "clean" running.
Other mods I've done are 180 thermostat, K&N CAI w/Airaid dry element, skip shift eliminator, clutch delay valve delete, Sultans of Spark high output ignition coils, NGK iridium sparkplugs gapped @ .060", Fastman 82mm ported throttle body, Pedal Commander, and a 93 octane tune from Diablosport using my i3 tuner definitely perked up the running of this car. A set of 20x9 SRT style wheels w/245/45-20 Goodyear Eagles puts power down through the factory 3.73 LSD differential, and cooling is handled easily by the stock fans which aree reset to lower temps for the 180 deg. thermostat.
All lubrication chores are nicely handled with AmsOil lubricants, and have used them since it hit 4K miles when new. It now has 122,600 miles and still going strong, and averages 23-26 mpg on the highway.
Keep us posted, that shifter looks like a great mod to do next on mine!

In our 2013 dodge challenger with a 6.4 motor.. Hubby had a short shift in it.. Like 6 months after we bought it new. As soon as we went to pick it up, it was making a gosh awful noise, clanging. Months went on and we took it back.. The strait drive transmission had a bolt missing on the strap that holds it up. They tried to blame it on us. We never even touched it. From there, 9 months trying to find out what was going on. We were in a rental that long. We ended up trading it. Come to find out, the dealership had canceled our warranty.. It had 17,000 miles on it. COME TO FIND IT, it had s bad crank. We had put down 3500.00 on it and paid nearly 20,000 all together. I was upset n crying for months. They did us wrong. Please some intelligent man in here, send me a reply as to what you believe happened. It has bothered me for years. Thank you so much!

Looking looking o-o are you serious. Poor thing was just jammed in there. Put the passenger side cylinder head back on, torqued everything down, raised the vehicle to reconnect the exhaust and plug in the 02 sensor. Where's the plug? Found the wires going directly between the block and the cylinder head! 😳 somehow when reinstalling the cylinder head the 02 plug found its way into the #8 cylinder and I never felt it as I was torqueing the head down....
