I thought I should explain what was happening with the aux funtion to enable/disable airspeed calibration... On the previous flight a couple weeks ago, I had meant to calibrate the sensor then, but forgot to set arspd_autocal=1, so immediately after that flight I set that param expecting to calibrate it on the next flight. Then in the couple of weeks that I didn't fly I forgot I'd set that, and yesterday I set up the aux function to switch it on and off. So it was enabled with the parameter, and active for the entire flight. Setting the parameter overrides the aux function. User error! ;)
Regarding the camera resolution on the Hybrid looking a bit soft/blurry when recording in 2.7k, I found the exact same issue with the Runcam Thumb Pro. Both 4k and 1080 produced nice sharp images, but 1440 and 2.7 were both really soft. I came to a similar conclusion to you - that the cause was something to do with pixel binning. This would certainly explain why 1080 looks good (in that resolution mode the camera is simply omitting every other pixel) whilst 2.7k looks bad (the camera is merging and averaging pixels).
Not sure if youtube encoding, or the camera, but when tilt/pan (like at 25:10) the HD (large) feed seems blurred, or slightly out of focus. As soon as pause, it seems to sharpen. Really noticeable relative to OSD (smaller) feed. This expected, as those OSD pixels are sub-scaled relative to the HD at full screen. The green-yellow hue in OSD display is typical of Runcam, this is optimized for freestyle quad pilots, as it provides higher contrast (hues with best contrast for human eyes). This not an issue, worth fussing over. Do like the OSD font, as extra crisp. Had no idea you'd customized. :)
I think it was more so the poor lighting, it was pretty late in the day and overcast. The raw files off the camera get a little blurry when looking down at the ground too at times. I think it's opening the shutter longer to expose the frames, and they get blurry. I'm positive it will look great on a sunny day, or even just not to dark and cloudy... lol The analog cameras always handle low lighting much better than HD cameras do.
Hey Vernon, I just saw you became a channel member, thanks! I missed it in the opening credits for today's video, but it's set up for the next ones! lol
I see your amp fluctuates in cruise just like mine does. I thought mine was not flying as it should. I guess it’s fine. I’m used to eagle tree vector where the amp doesn’t fluctuate as much.
Yeah it's fluctuating a little more than I like when flying cruise (or any auto mode really) where it manages throttle to keep airspeed. I'll probably try to fine tune it a bit over time and see if I can get that a bit more stable. I know it can cruise a bit more efficient than it is right now.
To be fair, the only real mistake they made was shipping the used/damaged camera on the second order. The first one arrived quickly and sealed up, just by chance it was DOA. I'm guessing they would have handled that one quicker than me waiting on a new board from China if they had any more in stock. As far as the second one, we all make mistakes and they did make it right. In the end it all worked out, it just took more time and frustration than I'd bargained for, when I was already somewhat rushing to get that camera swapped out... lol

I should look closer at that with the Hybrid next time I use it... lol
This little plane is really dialled in on Arduplane...nice work....😏😏👍😀🇬🇧
I'm ready for the auto takeoff/landing!

Good points.
Thank you.

@@bonafidepirate No problem what so ever sir. Enjoyed tonight’s video. A look at the water along your road was cool.

Great video as always. Thanks.
How do you get custom fonts? I wouldn't mind if you shared the upload file.

I’d like to see your results. I’m trying to fine tune mine but it sure is a pain to fly, land, connect to computer and repeat.
another words team legit is not legit. im not buying from them
