You know Vengerov is a great teacher when you speak no German but understood him perfectly lol
Autotranslate captions also helped :D
That girl plays so well Wieniasky! Not only does this composer write very difficult pieces from a technical way, but it is so hard to focus through all the piece and keep the characters that the piece requires. She does this and with a beautiful tone, as if she was singing every moment.
I like it, that Mister Vengerov is waiting with his Komments untill the Violinist is finish. So she can play without to be too disturbed and geht nervous. Wonderful piece and a very good violinist. Thank you very much.
What a WONDERFUL accompanist. She is so integrated into the piece and her playing is so responsive to the player!!
technically she's a pianist
The violonist is not half bad either....!
pianist please :p
I read accompianist.
Accompanying is a fine art. I hate the trend to blanket call it ‘pianist’ as if to be an ‘accompanist’ is an insult. Worse still is the Americanism “collaborative pianist” as if it needed clarification... one should also add the qualifier “collaborative” to the violinist too in that case. I hate the race to the bottom on social media and the obsession with semantics and the irresistible urge in taking offence when it is not meant.
This really makes you want to practice
...or quit. 😅
@@mewnp2yup. It works faster 🤣
I’d be a terrible music professor I got totally absorbed in listening and that would be all the feedback I had to offer
The girl being super nervous while Vengerov’s just casually sipping tea at the other side
Jimin Kim hahaha yeahhh
Jimin Kim! I cannot agree with you at all! Neither does the girl seem super nervous nor is there anything casual about Vengerov's involvement. Yes, he takes a sip of tea at the beinning, then never again. He is totally captured by the pure beauty of the girl's depth and breadth of musicality and is almost speechless at the end. Then, of course, teaches her..... What a wonderful session! Thank you, Uni Mozarteum Salzburg, for posting this.
@@bvbwv3 not literal. Also, she may not seem nervous, she very well may be.
Ah Mr vengrov, you are going to be such a fine old man one day.....we are so lucky to have you and have it mostly video recorded through out your life....can't hardly wait until you are 70...you'll still play most of us under the table even then....we are greatful to God for your gifts...
Laura is amazing, super talented!
Wow. She is amazing. What an incredibly technical yet beautiful piece of music. Great job!
My god that piece is so extremely difficult technically, she’s one hell of a violinist..
Practicing smart and consistent will make it easy at the end :)
Practicing very slowly.... :)
@@benjaminlarrieu1050 Heh. If you can play it slowly, you can play it quickly. AM I RIGHT?!?!?
Melissa T hahaha to a certain extent... :))
Melissa T but of course... I’ll take it to the next level - if you can play it in front of Vengerov, you can play in front of anyone ;)
This piece 🥵 + playing for Maxim Vengerov + me = 💀 This is the definition of a nightmare situation for me.
But she is a musical hero!! So fantastic!! BRAVA!!!!
Lovely , but how to sing? How breath? How to rich the tones? How to brings your feelings in a stage? Many of those things only could be gained with your own experience, I think sir Maxim tries to change souls , to teach the beauty of music. He is the pride of music.
Fantastic, I listened to the end although I don't speak german !!! Such a movie would deserve subtitles, sure it would easily reach the million of viewers.
I'd like to give a couple of more thumbs up pls. Great student, able to adapt so quickly and with a great natural sound. As soon as she will be relaxter (playing in this situation surely does not help there) she will have a even better sound. Vengerovs bow control is amazing as always. When he uses the bow it looks just half the size of what it actually is. When he throws the bow into the string he has a perfect landingno matter how wild he swings and the harsh sound is just due to quick acceleration after having perfect contract and so he produces a harsh sound with the note already ringing, a great part of why he always sounds that good. Amazing! I wish I were able to do that.
Thanks for technical input, I was always impressed by unique "brillant" sound of Maxim Vengerov
She stays in the string so well. I’m mesmerized by her tone
Fantastic student, wonderful master, these videos like me a lot, I feel calm that classical music is in good hands nowaday and for the future
Great session. He's a good teacher-- seems very kindly. The student is talented-- she plays beautifully.
I was not aware he speaks German that well.
Same:')
Was für eine schöne Überraschung
he started in Novosibirsk and then he spent about 4 years living and studying in Germany
@@pink_finger Now that you mention it I remember him working together with Barenboim in Berlin too.
Everything is marvelous, the young lady, the teacher!!! this is entering the music heaven!
What a delightful intonation, you can really focus on what she's proposing which is the sole purpose of a masterclass, bravo.
SUPER LAURA ! Super Schon !
Super talented student. Laura, You have great charisma And natural charme. So beautiful, too.
I just could not stop listening to this wonderful piece of fine music and this touching performance. Thank God for all. God bless.
Am Maxim kommt sowieso niemand ran.
Auch, wenn das Mädl super gut spielt.
Maxim ist ne Nummer für sich.
so much talent in one video. dazzling
Same 'student' who played the Kreutzer sonata at the Dec 19 Vengerov masterclass. 22 years young. Brilliant violinist!
Just beautiful playing .
eine super Leistung, vielen Dank fürs Teilen. LG Sven
Wonderful so complex is the composition this gifted violinist has surprised the audience and the Professor... What a beautiful composition... Heavenly music.
I am shocked on how good his german actually is. Usually to have this little of an accent and good grip on the language youd have to live in Germany/Austria for at least 10 years...
Little accent?? He has a very strong accent, what are u talking about
@@RE-nv4we Out of curiosity - to me as an American, it even sounds as though he has an english-speaking accent, yes?
They used to learn German in school back then.
I'm interested that you say this, because I learned some German in school 35 years ago, and I was surprised how much I could understand due to him speaking slowly and carefully, not at all like a native speaker.
You’re a fantastic violinist!
I do not understand German, but I do hope Mr Vengerov allowed that Ms Handler is moving far too much. The contrast between Mr Vengerov's body motion and Ms Handler's is very telling. Of course, Ms Handler is a wonderful musician, and in this post Mr Vengerov demonstrates supreme teaching skills. This is the very best of what a Masterclass can impart.
Moving too much for what?
You have a beautiful violin sound and very sensitive approach what is your name please, can't see it. Fantastic. Thanks so much.
Simplesmente maravilhoso estou encantada , parabéns 😍😙👏👏👏 bravo , bravo
Laura Handler is clearly on the way to be a first class violinist but Irina Frisardi is a superp pianist.
Vergerov's vibratto is wonderful 👏
I noticed her right elbow dropped at the tip when first playing on the G string. After his instruction and demonstration the elbow stayed up at the tip. I don't think he said to do that, but something in his words told her to do it. Then back to the old habit on the A string until he coaches back the phrasing. Nice work.
Arg.
I liked how Irina played. Very good.
Amazed by empty seats. Not enough music students in this city?
She is amazing!
English sub please :(

Time to learn German mein Lieber ☝️😅
The violinist was born in 1998 so she's about 21 in this masterclass.
His singing is wonderful, too
The girls playing is more beautiful the >First time. He plays with power and pressure. She plays her whole heart. When the heart is leading, the rest will follow. After his teachings she was disturbed and overthinking everything. Not relaxed at all.
Kiki i agree.
That's how instructions work in any skill. The adjustments made are unfamiliar. But with practice can yield better results. An experienced student of any instruction should know not to expect immediate results.
I was moved by the phrasing that came after the coaching. I thought her playing was somewhat thin and disconnected at the start, and the coaching shifted some of that by focusing on the bow.
Good teacher. Good student.
Excuse me for the question, whats the name of the shoulder rest she uses?
Bravo!
Bonmusica
Bonmusica shoulder rests are marvelous for slender-built violinists and violists. They make it so easy to confidently and firmly shoulder the instrument.
Looks like a Kun to me, with its light brown feet. Bon Musica has black feet and more of a long bit that goes over the shoulder, and his violin wouldn't sit so low and flat on the table if he had a BM.
Vielen herzlichen Dank!
Very good😊😊 Danke schön🥰🌹
Tante flessioni poche emozioni, Maxim pensaci tu!!!!
Uau,, what brave girl!!!
Sie ist wirklich schön!
Mönchskamp kp nö VfR
Can tell she use cremona violin... beautiful ❤️❤️❤️
How does he decide which classes he will teach in English and which ones in German?
I think it depends on the person he is teaching. If the person is russian he would talk in russian i think.
Peter Wittenberg ist playing the Piano?
Yeah, good old Pete has changed a lot since he made this video. ruclips.net/video/U2NWbIRlwEI/видео.html
Gracias
I'm going to learn german just to understand what he was saying
he polish student's soul softly.
Beautiful Peter on the piano...
If it has English subtitle , it will be perfect.
Bravo!!!
thankyou so much! greeting from.bali island
you are welcome. greeting from Indonesia
can same one tell me what microphone was used top record this video?
How the f can you get access to these to watch?
The pianist is definitely not Peter Wittenberg. Anyways wonderful performance!
Thank you - it is Irina Frisardi :)
Great! And super pedagogue !
I do not speak German, which I believe they are speaking. I just hope Mr Vengerov is telling Ms Handler to plant herself and not move her body so much. It appears he is doing exactly that. He can change Ms Handler from a really good violinist to a great one. I doubt Mr Vengerov would have much patience for someone not close to his level of playing. But he exemplifies the ideal teacher in his total empathy for this student. A wonderful post.
Hi master you speak is this German?nice
So good!
I don't see any Peter at the piano 😀
Maybe Petra? :)
@@Olegstuff21986 Yeah,Petra kinda Tran🤣
Lauras playing is very good but I don't cAre for composer
semplicemente divina
Peter is cute and good looking
😂
Please, can someone make english subtitles of this?
Was soll er ihr noch beibringen ? Darauf einen Schluck ☕️
Come on guys. We cant understand german. Where is ur english. 😞 the girl played amazing!
Laura Handler 👏👏👏❤️
Violine und Klavier Sonate von Edvard Grieg Nr 2
Whats more unnerving? Him saying something,or not saying anything?!
He’s honestly such a nice singer too lol
English subtitles please!
Plz english subtitle
💓
What ever you do - please do not turn up over tension on your bow the way Maxim (Russian) style you will loose all the dynamic range of the violin - for Pete’s sake just don’t.... for the record: a difficult piece does not constitute a good piece - just saying...
Could you elaborate a bit on the tension thing? I don't really understand what you mean
Ickguenthrasil yeah me too
Who is the violinist?
Forget it, I read the description
Vengerov, sein Geigenton klingt gequetscht. Laura spielt viel schöner als er. Ihr
Ton ist luftiger, leichter. Wer sieht das auch so ? Wer sieht es anders ?
Its not a classical, traditional interpretation. Very free ,selfishly interprète. Classical music supposed to be Classical.
Too difficult to learn
Vengerov is like Illusionniste.
