Keep calm and raise the bell!
That's a gorgeous bell. I wouldn't mind having a go at ringing-up (as long as it goes up right c:)
Ah, thank you for the inforamtion!
Change ringing bells of this weight are sometimes very difficult to ring up with the clapper on the leading side. In Most cases, it's easier to raise some bells and then flip the clapper over to the right side.
It is just easier to ring it up without bothering to make it strike correctly on the right side. Then just use the clapper turner to correct it. It can be done correctly but takes 2 people usually.
That's fantastic! Where do you operate the clapper turner from?
What does a single *muffled or half-muffled* bell sound like?
What's the purpose of turning the bells upside down?
if you have a search around for "English Change Ringing" you'll understand :)
That’s heavy tenor
Interesting and also funny :^)
a falling clapper like in the netherlands. :-)

Google Change-ringing and you should find something that explains all. Too complicated to just say in a few words
The Clapper is in the wrong side
Why does the tenor ring up with a falling clapper?

THE TENOR HAS ITS CLAPPER ON THE WRONG SIDE
