Ben, thanks so much for doing this interview...I own #810060 and absolutely love it and now the history of this lot of instruments that you and Russ were so gracious to provide really helps document it.🙌
Wow, nice. I'll tell ya, a Gold Star JD in Russ's hands always sounds amazing. It just responds to his crazy strong hammer on's and I've heard him on the Prucha but wow, always blows my mind when he plays a Crowe.
I have a Gold Star. It has the chrome finish, not gold. Bought it used back in '82 from Bruce and Rick at Mr. T's picking parlor in Clear Lake Texas. It was Rick's personal banjo. It still sounds great. Needs the chrome plating re-done. I haven't played since 1983. Anyone know where to get one re-plated?
Howdy dear Ben ! It's a great banjo ! Congrats from France ! You should go to my country, Paris is a really nice city. I love the bluegrass music, and I'm crazy about the US ! Sorry for my English, he's so bad !
hi, Im a guitar player but wonting to pick up banjo, was wondering if a washburn b9 5string would be a good starter banjo and was wondering what quality sound it would be?

Banjo Ben Clark I would have love to have gone but it's not possible at the moment, but I'm sure you and whoever else goes will get a blessing out of it! Soak it in as much as you can! Greetings from Australia!:)
I didn’t know sound could “glow”, but that the only word I thought of listening to that gorgeous banjo!!
Nice sounding instrument! Thanks for posting. Hope you are both loving life!
Two legends teamed up! Awesome!
Ben, I had to chuckle when you introduced Russ as "a good buddy of mine." As a trucker, 'good buddy' is cb lingo for a man who is... uh, gay.
