Anita has never put out a bad album, but the songs from her first three albums made her career. The songs are timeless! I still can't believe I first heard her 40 years ago, in 1978. It's now 2018 and Anita's music and talent are still relevant and loved today.

Anita should have her a nice tribute special - hour long... Toni should be there. Brandy too (remember she sung You Bring Me Joy?) also, Jojo (who did a nice Caught Up in the Rapture cover). They could've got Syleena Johnson. People with some buttery low registers and smooth tones. That would be fire.

These tributes should be an even bigger testament to Anita's contribution to R&B. She had some vocal powerhouses sing these songs, but they still couldn't quite do her songs justice. Ms. Baker's beautiful contralto rightfully deserves its own lane.

starseoul 22 You make a good point. The audience was lackluster at best and anytime the host has to resort to literally cursing out the crowd, you know it was bad! The best part of the show for me was the Anita Baker tribute and I thought the previous tribute a few years back runs circles around this one. Maybe all of the current negativity going on in the country has had a profound effect on how we all vibe with each other.
