- How we spent a Night on our Boat in the Dry Tortugas National Park
The Dry Tortugas is made up of 7 islands totaling 100 square miles. Whether you’re a history buff, nature enthusiast or avid fisherman, the Dry Tortugas is a must visit.
At the heart of it all, lies Garden Key, home to Fort Jefferson. Fort Jefferson was built in the 1800’s to protect North America. With the location of the Tortugas being along one of the world’s busiest shipping lanes, it made for a great military asset for the United States. Today, the Fort is only reachable by boat or seaplane. The good news is if you don’t have your own vessel to run over in, you can catch a ferry!
We ran our 33' Invincible 90 miles from Big Pine Key to our fishing spot on the North side of the park before heading in to the harbor to spend the night!

The birds squawked me to sleep the 2 nights we were there last year. I actually found the non-stop bird noise comforting. This was one of my favorite destination boat trips that I've ever done. Great video.
Bloopers are always my favorite part! Love you two❤️
I’m surprised they didn’t have a pillow fight. Followed up by a scissor fight.
These twins and the Hodge twins are my favorites.
You Girls are a sea of reality, thank you!
You two young ladies have some of the best videography of all You Tube fishing videos... very impressive!!! I absolutely love your content!!
Wow, thank you!
I used to camp out 7 or 8 times a year. Sometimes with no tent. A suggestion for next time…instead of taking one huge tarp to drape over part of your boat in case of rain, take two small tarps, one for each of you and roll up in it if it rains. Love the videos! I’ve learned a ton from y’all that I use fishing here in NC.
Learned is too big of a word it was fun watching the video
This is one of the places on my bucket list. You guys did amazing
Great Job! Fort Jefferson is really interesting! I snorkeled around the whole fort, and it was really neat. Beautiful area loaded with fish!
We definitely need to snorkel it next time!
A new fan here ❤❤❤ supergirls
The entire part of Bush Key is a nesting rookery usually closed during the nesting season and Yes! all those birds are loud!!! Fort Jefferson is an amazing place!!
I’ve never been but y’all made it into my next out of state fishing spot. Thank you both and happy new year 🎉!
Emily and Amanda gale Looks like you ladies are having a good time in your video fishing for the day Emily and Amanda gale
Weirdest comment ever made
Haven’t seen a posting in a while , you 2 are great , nice presentation of the dry Tortuga,s
You guys are great. I look forward to your videos. Have a fantastic New Year!
yall are so good at what ur love and plus live ur shows ❤❤❤❤❤❤
Your bloopers are exactly why I don't even try to make youtube videos
Thank you for everything y’all do. Love the topics and bloopers!!👍👍👍👍👍
BTW: Hot is hot no matter how acclimated. It makes 80 to 85 at night with a breeze over the water feel cold w/o that cover.
So much fun! Love this!
Just fantastic video please continue to share your adventures.😊
Super cool! I would've thought for sure that bugs would get you from the island but thankfully not.
As for that mac 'n cheese... might be worth bringing a Jet Boil or similar next time.
Love the bloopers
Great job! I like the end with true reality of filming. Keep up the great work!
Great video… Thanks for sharing.
Yall still Awesome!
I've camped countless times, many in the heat of summer. Buy a battery operated fan for each of you. You will be amazed. Lastly, get some ear plugs. They work wonders so you can get some rest. Crows were my enemy early in the morning. I think they tracked me down to make noise. Awesome trip!
My dream trip. Lucky you. Wonderful video
Would you consider taking a family of 7 out to the island later this month, for a cost of course? We would camp on the island. -don from Lorain Ohio USA 🇺🇸
Great Video!!!!
Great video. Very nice camera and drone work. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
😀👍👍❤❤ Happy 2024. 200+ subscribers!!
Great video
My friends slept on the island but I did the exact same thing with the air mattress in the bow, but I also set up a one person tent in the back of the boat as a backup.
Love your videos!!! But couldn’t you anchor the boat and set up camp on the fort ? As I know the fort accommodates camping for boaters
and plus love the history that's u give on this 😅😅😅😅😅😅
ur bloopers make really good yall😅😅😅😅😅
😂
Ive been to dry tartouga during a class trip
Hello Gale twins. I’m a really big fan of you two. I love watching your videos they have helped me a lot. I wanted to know how could i get in touch with you so i can know if you can teach me or take me as your charter. I would really want to learn more.
Ahhhh, youth! Back in the late 70s, I would motorcycle along the California coast and camp any and everywhere the bike would fit. We don't need to stinking camping area.
When I first saw those asparagus on your cutting board I thought that you were going to use them for bait. What bites on asparagus in Florida?
Can’t believe you didn’t have any mosquito problems? Incredible!
Mosquitoes and saltwater don’t mix.
❤❤
The food looks great, simple and easy. Next time wrap the asparagus, 4 or 5, with a strip of bacon. Then sprinkle with some pumpkin spice. Taste is delicious
Your videos are way too perfect . Don't worry about the bloopers!
would've be the perfect camp if only there was some mac & cheese😁 was also hope for some grilled cobia or snapper😉 Thansk for taking us along! Never heard or knew of the dry tortugas. very cool! did you guys troll on the way home? 🎣 Wishing you guys tight lines and screamin' drags in the new year!
Great Video, did you guys take off from the Keys? Thx
Yes! From mile marker 30!
@@GaleForceTwins Thanks, I also wonder if you can help me with this. Do you know of any Marina or Boat Park in the Key West way that you can recommend to store a SeaDoo Swicht Pontoon 21". Thx!
Good evening, just curious, why would you not choose to have a windlass anchor system on your boat?
Personally, never been a fan! They break often and cause more of a headache.
Where do you park your trailer for an overnight stay in Key West?
Just anchor it ⚓️
Loved the video and enjoyed watching your trip. I have been bikepacking, Kayak Camping but I have never been camping on a boat. Looks like I have a new adventure I need to plan.
You guys need to get a jet boil for water.
Girls, you forgot the onions and pickles on the burger😅
Looks like an absolute blast! The lack of no A/C, beds etc wouldn't be a issue, however no bathroom def would make it interesting depending who you went with & how comfortable you are around them lol... Keep killing it , more camping over night trips would be awesome to explore some places / fish at night that you normally would not be able to do!
There is a bathroom under/in the center console
@@katep4485 oh okay haha that makes it way less of a issue then. Wasn't sure & I've seen boats around the size of theirs without it sometimes and it's just storage under the center council.
There is a bathroom in the console but we don’t use it 🤷🏼♀️
@@GaleForceTwins well I guess in emergencies better to have it than not too lol
👍👊🇺🇸
Any problems with mosquitoes or other bugs?
Mosquitoes only live near fresh water not salt or brackish water.
You can make coffee ☕️ in the morning with the water.
Are you going to get a camping stove for the next trip?
-20 last night. No camping on our boat for a few more months 😕
Great video, Emily's mic needs adjusting hard to hear her
Did you get to shower and etc? 😂
USB fans for yer generator
I’m done with roughing it. I put a six foot bathtub heated by a cast iron boiler - central air conditioning - sixty feet of bug free comfort. I really built a beast. Staying in Montauk for a few year’s before coming down to the keys.
So I’m assuming you guys checked/knew the weather would cooperate? I’m also well pleased to see if I wanted to “boat camp” it would be a great experience!
Florida humidity outside is like British houses in summer inside. AC is very rare inside here so it can often be 90 degrees and 95% humidity inside at night in the few weeks it actually gets hot here....I had a point somewhere along the way, Oh yeah, I feel your pain and the Dry Tortugas look amazing.
I've always wondered about security when camping on the boat. In the Keys, or any other place.
How often has crimes occurred on people sleeping on their boats?
Are there any alarm systems designed to detect someone boarding? Especially if you are below decks?
Are there mosquitoes out there???
I could handle the heat. Mosquitoes would be a deal breaker.
Mosquito nets come to mind
There are no bugs there!
🦜👍🏻
I do not know how your parents can rest easy in such a vulnerable situation. When you are young, you are fearless & think you are perfectly safe. But, ladies, we live in a dangerous world. Take care.
What are you talking about? They’re perfectly capable grown women. What about any of this is dangerous? Smh 🤦🏼♂️
Must be nice, I wish I was a young sexy girl with all the time in the world to fish and site see. Too bad, I am just old grumpy!
