This woman’s record label should of had a big beautiful grave stone. She made them millions probably billions. Shame on them yes she had a addiction but this woman’s voice was like no other a legend. She’s still making them money this is truly sad.

I had all of her movies and my 2 favorites are "Waiting To Exhale" and "The Preacher's Wife". She was one of a kind. I am so glad you got to spend so much time paying your respects to her and Bobbi Christina. It looks like they are taking excellent care of the graves.

Whitney's mom, Cissy Houston, who is also Dionne Warwick's aunt, sang gospel all thru her career, including singing backup with the "Sweet Inspirations" for Elvis Presley during his comeback 1969-70, and a whole line of entertainers. Cissy's vocals were on a lot of records in the 1960s and 70s.

Exactly my thoughts. They are in the Hands of God now but Whitney's resting place looks realy poor. Her Picture is almost unrecognizable and there is not a word from Jesus, just a title of one of Her Songs. It looks like It cost under thousand US Dollars. She deserved much better. They should have spend at least one or two hundret thousand Dollars for Her Gravesite with a Statue of Her. She made $250 million. But who are we to complain.

Actually Whitney grave is not off limit, the problem was people were videoing and using spirit boxes. Things they should not of. Actually her father is buried back there too. All they ask is people be respectful, it got worse after Bobby Christina passed. Please her daughter died in hospice. We need be more careful about what we hear and don't know. Alledgely it was not Bobby brown but one of Whitney's brothers that introduced her to the hard stuff. She was shy. Her game was instant. It turned out to be the worse thing that could of happened. Now that story he admitted giving her. Her brother. You can look it up. Not everybody can handle drugs. Some get hooked easy..I can only imagine the pressure she was under. There's no proof her daughter did drugs. Once you are put into a induced coma. The only medicine in your system is what the drs assign. I'm not dwelling on why or how she died, but the fact she lived, gave us good music. Fact she was human, made mistakes like everybody else. I'm not talking to you Chris. Just what I saw on live. Some times we don't know fact from fiction. It's easy to get caught up in what we hear that may or may not be true. Thank you for going, pay respect to Whitney. Yes we have been there several times, to pay respect to Whitney, her daughter and her father. ✌️👍 Rip to Whitney, Bobbi Christina, and Mr John. Whitney's father. . 🕊️🌻🦋🌠. Love, respect and positivity always. Vee James.

PLEASE READ THIS IF YOU WANT TO GO PAY YOUR RESPECTS TO WHITNEY HOUSTON!
So my father and I are massive Whitney Houston fans, we wanted to pay our respects to her by visiting her gravestone which is located at Fairview Cemetery in Westfield New Jersey, my father and I made the mistake of calling the cemetery to ask if we were allowed to visit Whitney Houstons grave, the woman who answers the phone goes by the name Carol, she was polite at first and said that per the families request the grave was "off limits" We both understood that, and asked questions such as whether or not the grave was restricted, and gated, the woman then developed a sort of nasty attitude towards us and we just hung up. The office will not tell you anything about where in the cemetery her grave is, dont trust google maps directions to her gravestone either, they set the wrong location for her gravestone on purpose to make tourists think they got the wrong cemetery or something like that, Whitney's grave is not off limits or restricted at all! If any staff tells you that they are lying to try and lure you away! I havent been there myself yet, I will probably go the next time I see my grandparents, but one thing is for sure do not let any staff at the cemetery know you are planning to go visit Whitney, I read a review of a woman who went to pay her respects and security surrounded her car and followed her, which I dont think its right because Whitney was loved by many people and the fact that us fans arent even allowed to pay respect to her, her daughter, and her father? I understand the family doesnt want it to be extremely overcrowded, but it is not like her grave gets millions of people per day and is flocked by paparazzi, at most its probably like 5 people a week. So I am trying to figure out what this cemetery's issue is.Also, judging by this video and other pictures/videos ive seen, this cemetery totally neglects these graves. Despite the fact that Whitney was a worldwide superstar, the scattered decorations, dried up, dead soil, does not give a good impression on the people who clean this cemetery, also, as I was looking at pictures of Whitneys grave which were published on Google reviews, I noticed a picture of all 3 graves, Whitney, Bobbi Brown, and Whitneys father, the gravestones look completely blank! The writing and pictures have all completely faded by the looks of it! Now since these pictures werent taken today, but rather a month ago, maybe the cemetery decided to do something about it and re-engrave the letters, but I am assuming since a month is really not that long that they probably didnt do anything, also based on other peoples reviews who go to this cemetery not to see Whitney but to see their own loved ones, it appears those graves are just as neglected. I wonder how dissapointing it will be for all Whitney fans on her birthday in August who come here to leave flowers to either be denied access, be given an attitude towards, or to see her grave in such a neglected state. I see people complaining about her grave being "modest" and like the other graves in the cemetery, but that was upon Whitneys request, although she was a superstar she wanted to be treated like any other person, I feel like if she wanted to, her mother Cissy Houston would have definitley gotten her a bigger and much better headstone, but unlike others, I like the headstone, despite its small appearence, its a nice, simple way to express and show who Whitney really was, rather than if she got a massive monument, it expresses how even though Whitney was famous, she was still no different than any other human being. That being said, I hope this cemetery starts to handle all of these neglected graves, and hopefully begins to allow small groups of people to pay their respects at certain times. Fairview Cemetery, please, do better. Rest in Peace Whitney Elizabeth Houston, and Happy early birthday. :(

Many famous folks have modest headstones so that's fine. It's what we do when alive that is our legacy. She was a remarkable talent. Not a very good likeness of her on the stone however.

Very lovely voice and just extremely popular. It’s probably best to remember these folks for accomplishments, but it’s sadly her addiction was just so public and the rest of her marriage issues. I’m sure she was probably a nice person too and had an abundance of talent. Tragic ending, yet another gone too soon. I was expecting something more elaborate but maybe she had mentioned nothing special at sometime during her life, who knows. As for Bobbi Christina, I found her death just so sad. I sure prayed she’d pull though, just a kid really as well as pretty strange “story” behind her death. Ironic. Thanks for stopping by though, and taking us along. She’s certainly exceptional and I’m sure missed greatly by her family, let ‘lone her friends and fans.

It is so tragically ironic that Bobbi Kristina was also found dead in a bath tub. I remember the day Whitney died. My Dad told me he saw it on the news that they had found her dead. Little did I know that just 9 months later my Dad would be dead of lung cancer. He was diagnosed in August of 2012 and passed away in November of 2012.

Whitney's mother Cissy (a talented singer in her own right; she sang with noted bacup vocalists Sweet Inspirations) is still with us. Brother Gary Garland was a basketball player at DePaul U. when the school was good in the 80s. He would sing the National Anthem at games.

What a modest monument considering how famous she was.
    Thanks for sharing this Chris.
Also thank you for mentioning that it was Dolly Parton who wrote and performed I will Always Love You. So many people give Whitney the credit.

Her grave stone is very ordinary, but it's the person that is in this sacred plot of Earth that is the true richness. I cannot afford to go there from UK but I would love to pay my respects. She is with her God now at peace. Jon, Stapleford, Nottingham, England.

How could they have her grave off limits without blocking the families of those buried close by from visiting the graves of their loved ones? She is hardly in an isolated area. I doubt anyone is going to attempt to dig her up.

@Nick Hipsher - Not sure why they are upset about someone taking a photo of the grave. Maybe they should have buried her in a private cemetery somewhere with no public access if they get that upset about it.
