      to find the λ, take (λ-3) as common term[NOTE: can take {(λ-2) or (λ-1)} but process is kinda long so better to take (λ-3)] and divide it with the eqtⁿ: λ³-6λ²+11λ-6. After dividing, you'll get the quotient as: λ²-3λ+2 and split this eqtⁿ further to get the other two λ values

    There is an easier way to find the eigenvalues
    A = [[8,-8,-2],[4,-3,-2],[3,-4,1]]
    Use this formula
    |A - λI| = 0
    where A is the matrix, λ is the eigenvalue and I is the identity matrix.
    Expanding the determinant, we get:
    (8 - λ)(-3 - λ)(1 - λ) + 8(-2)(3) + (-2)(4)(-4) - (-2)(-3)(-2) - 8(4)(1) - (1 - λ)(-4)(-8) = 0
    Simplifying the above equation, we get:
    -λ^3 + 6λ^2 - 11λ + 6 = 0
    Using factorization, we can write:
    -(λ - 1)(λ - 2)(λ - 3) = 0
    Thus, the eigenvalues of the given matrix are λ1 = 1, λ2 = 2 and λ3 = 3.

    You should tell why you are taking det = 0. Becase [a - lambda I] is a singular matrix since X cannot be zero. And det of singular matrix is 0. Then you are a good teacher!!. I told you because you were better than other indian teachers in youtube and there is hope

    Is this method is only applicable to 3 by 3 matrix?
    if not then, kindly explain step 3 formula, in general terms for every matrix
