This video just saved my life! I’ve rebuilt the drivers side motor already and the rivets were replaced with bolts. When I popped the passenger side off the rivets were still in it. Thanks for the videos, they have been really helpful with my 91 Bronco!
This is the fastest way to replace the power window motor on the 1980-1996 ford fseries and broncos. Let me know if you need any help regarding this repair.
@@isiahcalhoun2218 make sure the gear looks the same as the old one. If so then apply power to the motor (plug in the motor and hit the window switch in either direction) and move it a little.
Im just finding this video and Im thankful you’re showing how to fix this. In my situation, the motor is fine and so is the switch, but the motor only gets power when I hit the UP switch. I thought it was a fuse issue so i looked at #14 but thats a circuit breaker which works fine. It’s a head scratcher bro
I had the same issue, switch tested fine, but it was indeed the switch. They can be purchased relatively cheap. To verify you can jump the down wire on the switch connector to power, if motor goes down then it is the switch. You can also test the motor by removing the electrical connector, hook up a battery to the terminals, reverse the polarity to test up/down. If motor and switch are tested good, then issue is with wiring. Unplug all connectors and check for continuity for a break in wiring. The door jamb area is likely a culprit, you will have to remove the kick-panel to access wiring.
@@TheFixTech amazing man, thanks so much. I tested by putting the driver’s side passenger switch on the passenger side door but nothing happened. I’ll go out later and pick up a switch. If it’s wiring then I assume i just cut the wiring thats in that area and reapply.
Thank you for making this video. You did not repair or replace that ripped plastic sheet before you re- assembled the door panel. Can you please explain why or why not that is important?
I have a 1992 in pretty good condition, 70k, but the same thing happened with auto window. Where do you recommend getting replacement motor? I think mine is a gear also, as it runs and I need to pull it up to close. Is it easy to replace the gears? Thanks in advance
If your motor is original then you can rebuild the gear, there are plastic plugs inside the motor that strip. The plugs are sold online, otherwise the Dorman motors I linked in the description work good.
I used epoxy to fix a few broken clip tabs on my 89 door panel. Worked great, can't remember what the bit size was for the center, but that plus a little dremmel action and it's good as new. I'm sure you could do the same if you have issues finding a tan replacement panel at local yards.
Thanks I did as well but since most my tabs were broken and the epoxy is permanent the clips would not move around to fit into the door properly. It worked but the panel was not lined up properly, ended up finding a nice used panel.
Thank you! This was really helpful, as I need to remove this panel for repairs in my '93 XLT. Regarding that plastic weather liner...did you replace that as well?
For the rear window I usually rebuild the original motor. Some people use small metal ball bearings or nuts, using metal parts will damage the motor. Replacement plastic glass “plugs” are available and are preferred, that is what I use. I will try to make a video soon.
I was actually doing a speaker job, not the window motor... but this was the clearest and most helpful video on how to remove the door panels. Thanks!

Thanks for showing everything instead of talking about it. I will be fixing mine this weekend. Thanks again great job
No problem 👍
I’m literally restoring the exact same bronco. This is great!
Sweet, these are great trucks.
Thank you so much for the video, just replaced the motor on my 1992 ford bronco. 🙌🏼💪🏽🙏
Glad it helped
Thank you so much for sharing! Love your bronco videos👋🏻

Great job!!🙌🏻
Man I cannot get the gears lined up at all
Do you have any tips to how you did it??

Man you made that look easy thanks
The hardest part is removing the fragile door panel. Be careful and avoid damaging the clip locations as these parts are getting harder to find.

Your welcome
Nice video, thx
Great video, saved me a lot of time blood and sweat

It is important for road noise, I did replace that sheet eventually with sound deadening material in my clean and deaden video.

how do you remove the bottom piece?
The bottom piece of the door panel? that piece is screwed on with several screws.

The belt weatherstrip on top of the panel? Yes I did I replaced both the inner and outer and purchased from rock auto.
@@TheFixTech Thanks so much!
I showed you the right path and you wondered

I can't believe you did that to your door. That bronco is ruined.
