They hold true to their philosophies, despite fighting each other they actually LIKE each other, they actively communicate to their worshipers (Ghaz in this case), have openly provided for them through divine intervention (Ghaz again), and when you die as an ork, you go back to the Great Green only to come back as some other orkoid. • @dalaminaubis7822
    @dalaminaubis7822 Год назад +426

The difference with the big E compared to most gods of the settings, is that while most others were formed through the coalescence of resonating psychic echoes, (or outright built for a purpose like the Aeldari gods) big E started out as something like the player character in an RPG where they're just overpowered from the begining and eventually get to such a high level that nothing is a challenge anymore. By the time 30K started he was at the height of his power, a force of nature who's only limits were not being able to be in more than one place at one time and not knowing how to Dad. He was still a "guy", but a supremely overpowered one who had his various plans and unbreakable will. He got pumped up into being a god by passively grinding XP and being fed loot crates for 10,000 years, so he's not really a god of "things" but a person who has reached godhood. God of humanity is the closest thing to really narrow it down to. Even though a ton of humanity worships chaos, he is the god of humanity achieving it's own potential and pursuing it's destiny, being led by itself for itself.

Keyword mankind, he doesn’t care about every individual human only the human race as a whole. If he had to wipe out half of humanity to save the other half he’d gladly do it as long as enough people are alive to repopulate. Some like Sigmar on the other hand loves all of his followers and constantly puts his own life on the line to save them because unlike the Big E who was always this Godlike being Sigmar was once a human so he understands them way more.

he can't manage to run the atronomica together with the golden throne mechanism himself, so 1000 psykers that burn out very quickly in an astropath chorus , he's the only one who can keep sitting on the throne and hold back chaos, but it almost grills him even if he is the strongest to regenerate of the perpetuals, if he didn't have to sit on the throne and get grilled he would quickly be healthy again.

The astronomicon I’ll give you, but the breach was kinda his own fault for not telling his sons what he was doing. Magnus did nothing wrong/everything wrong aside, if he had been pragmatic enough with his sons and forces to explain at least passably the forces of chaos and corruption and his current webway plan then a lot could have potentially been avoided. But he didn’t, so many primarchs felt abandoned, Magnus tried to help but fucked everything over, Horus got the drop on him as far as we know in lore, and now his empire has become the opposite of what he desired while he himself has become what he hates.
So yes, he does humanity a big help with the galaxies biggest lighthouse, but preventing a new anus from tearing into the galaxy that you and your sons essentially made by fucking each other over by not communicating I’d say doesn’t give you any points.
It’s like if Zeus was the father of Typhon (I know he wasn’t but bear with me) and got credit for defeating the monster he himself made. Or you know what, just go read Frankenstein if you want to see a man do gods work and the. bitch about it becoming a problem as he refuses to do anything to solve it until it starts hurting him specifically.

In the Star Control games, the Ir-Quan freed themselves from being a horrifically subjugated slave race and were so traumatised they immediately set about neutralising all other intelligent life in the galaxy. Bend the knee or be destroyed. The Emperor's vision was similar, secure a permanent future for the human race by completely eliminating all potential threats - but this isn't a noble or just cause, it's sheer arrogance along with animal fear and avarice. Can you truly say that humans have any more right to exist than the thousands of races the Emperor genocided "just in case"? The true threat to humanity came from within, as it did before with the Men of Gold.
His biggest mistakes were making a deal with the Ruinous Powers and the Webway project, both of which were staggeringly arrogant, messing with things he had far less knowledge of than he surmised.
He cracked his toilet trying to do unlicensed plumbing because "elves do it so it can't be that hard" and now he can't stand up because his ass is only thing stopping the house from flooding, nice one Emps, real regal.

Yeah some people say the whole having zero hope makes it more grimdark but 100% bad just seems grimderp to me.
The way that warhammers factions are usually thematically set up is of once great empires and such on the verge of utopia and eternity failing due to some hubris or other innate flaw found in life.
Especially since if you think about it humanities innate flaws struck them twice first in the tech golden age they fell due to 1. Their arrogance 2. Their over-reliance on their creations and not believing they could be turned against them 3. Underestimating chaos, or in this case the warp which they knew existed for quite a while and even knew of the existence of psykers but for the most part just overlooked those threats.
Then the emperor despite seeing that was 1. Too arrogant believing in his own super intelligence and power 2. Became over-reliant on his creations the primarchs and Astartes believing they couldn't be turned against him 3. Under-Estimated chaos.
The exact mistakes which caused humanity's as a whole downfall being done by the greatest human, its just poetic and tragic especially of he for the most part represented humanities best.

I would say that the best god in warhammer in being an interesting diety that cares about there followers would be Grimnier, the man is so badass that he held off one of the main points of deamon invasions for tens of thousands of years, and to do this he made a look with so much drip that when dwarfs could start bursting into flame and not dying they immediately cosplayed him, and to do this feat he didn't take the best weapons and armor he could get, he gave away half his axes and all of his armor so the dwarf race who needed it more could use it while he singlehandedly cut off untold millions of deamons from advancing out into the world, and is the sole reason that gotrek was able to do a quarter of the things he could do

Some advice for overcoming writer's block (if you even want it), jump past the point you're writing and move onto another part of the script. When you get to the end, you can over the script again and fill in any holes, make any corrections or whatever, and then finalise the script on the third draft. By just pushing, you keep a good rhythm going, and by the time you get to the first revision, the mental stimulation will have helped move you past the block.
It's what I do whenever I'm writing, and while it isn't foolproof, it mostly works.

He has the most influence out of any god and his powers that constantly grind all four Chaos Gods into a galaxy wide stalemate. His personality and attitude are his only downside. He's a crap father and a malicious egocentric tyrant. But as a God where those things aren't needed he is the most powerful of every God in terms of strength and followers.

Personally, I always suspected, largely due to coming into 40K in its 3rd edition when the lore was at its bleakest and Games Workshop wasn't trying to desperately retcon the Imperium as the brave, heroic, "hard men making hard choices" One True Hope For Humanity faction, that the Emperor was not a god and never was one, but instead was merely just a very lucky but perfectly mundane tyrant whose cult of personality has grown to unprecedented heights. He may indeed have been a powerful psyker with access to some incredible Dark Age of Technology macguffins, but he was never the "living true god and humanity's savior" - that's just what 10,000 years of unchallenged propaganda and mythifying has made him into in the eyes of the modern Imperium.

Nothing that you described the emperor as is mutually exclusive of him being a god. You can be a god, and a psyker. God, and a man. God, and a mortal even. Pagans worshipped mortal rulers as gods. It doesnt mean that they were wrong, it just means that what is and is not a god is subjective.

From what Luetin09 has pointed out, the God Emperor has gone through a shit ton of perspectives and forms, all generally given from the different authors of novels and lore. He's a dick at times, at times he does the best for humanity, but also keeps his own agenda relevant. His psyker abilities are unmatched and he mostly helps his people when it is necessary or when he actually can. He understands the irony of what he established and what ended up happening in a huge "Reverse Psychology" type situation, however he may had initially thought of an outcome.

Or could even go for even more all according to plan memes for Big E and what Guilliman needed there (as far as Big E is concerned anyways) wasn't support from Big E but a kick in the pants to just go do something because Guilliman thinks he's the Imperium's last hope.
