I know nothing, but got this pattern a week ago and was truly lost..so glad I found this channel, I think I can get more material and start again. Thanks
Just finished this as my first project ever. Thanks to your video it turned out almost perfect, I would have been completely lost with just the written instructions.
That’s awesome!!! You will definitely enjoy it!
Even if I am not making the garment you are sewing along to, I still watch your videos, they are so very good, your instructions, manner, explanations as to why are really amazing. One of the best tutorials on You Tube. Thank you for taking the time to share.
I've been frustrated with off the shelf coats for a while. They always seem too long in the sleeve for me, and not long enough at the bottom. So I've been thinking about making my own coat. This is the ideal video for this. I'll have to try a few smaller things first before tackling this project, but this makes the whole thing a little less daunting.
Your tutorials are always awesome!!! The trench is fire! Love the color!🤩🤩🤩
You, sir, are a natural teacher. Thank you for this (making it for my son!)
Norris, you are a great teacher. Thank you for the awesome sew along.
Hi Norris it's so good to see you doing a sew along! I love the coat thanks for sharing God bless!
Awesome teaching instructions. Just such a joy watching you. Thank you. Remain blessed xxx
I'm truly impressed with your attention to details. Kudos to you Norris. I'm now an official Subscriber.
Love to hear that
This is awesome! I just bought my fabric for a classic trech coat. This is so useful! Great instructions and tips and very smooth voice. Thank you!
Your trench coat tutorial was great. I have had all I need to make my trench for six months. Now you have helped me have courage. Thankyou. It looks great.
Sewitt academy member here . I can so do this thanks to your teachings. I have been looking forward to making a trenchcoat and this pattern and your tutorial will make it possible for me to tackle this project
Ooh, thank you for this sew along! I definitely needed it!!!
I have a qualification test for the next two days and I have to sew a trenchcoat, which I never did in my entire life. I already sewed most of the components before (and it definitely helped rewatching some of the parts) but I never understood that flap thing until I watched your video :D HUGE THANK YOU FOR SAVING MY A$$
Great tutorial and I had just purchased your pattern and decided to sew it when I found this. You have a calm and soothing voice and make all the steps so clear and easy. Please keep going! SO exciting to see what other items you will be making. Peace and love from Colorado!
Wow. Norris that was such a good tutorial. Congratulations. That coat looks really nice.
Thank you very much!
Wow that looked sleek!
Love this coat! I’m fairly new to sewing but would love to tackle this !
Thank you I been waiting for you to do a men’s jacket.
I'm trying to make an outfit (of some kind, still deciding what exactly) for a P!nk concert later this month, your video's are incredibly inspiring and informative!!
Wow 😍 😍 😍 😍
Impressed by the title keyword simplicity !✈️
EXCELLENT VIDEO!!!!!!
Your instructions are amazing
Thank you
You’re so welcome!
Holy crape bought this pattern today. Sweet. Video to go with it
Awesome trench! I love the sew-along and that you are creating these great videos. I sewed a sport coat as a first big mens outerwear project. I have a dream wool fabric I've been eyeing for years that I'd love for a trench coat like this one. But I'm worried about a couple of things: 1) Sewing thick wool is hard. Any tips? 2) You have a very slim body (congrats!) but I do not. Any pattern will look terrible on me, and I will have to make adjustments to the pattern, or really just give up and not even try because it may be a huge waste of money and time and nerves. But perhaps you have some encouraging words!
I’ve always wanted to make a trench coat base off the sketches I’ve drawn recently. If only I had a sewing machine, other sewing equipment and materials to make the coat for me to wear it in public.
Very good instructions!
Thank you!
Amazing tutorial. I wanted a wool overcoat but couldn't find any that fit properly without a jacket underneath as well as with a light (leather) jacket on. I'm guessing overcoats and trench coats are basically the same in Constructuon in that they're double breasted long coats. Just have to skip the storm flap and that thing at the back. Awesome work!
Norris, I love your video and the way you explained it this really helped me to understand exactly what to do. I’m ready to buy the pattern and try this for my grandson’s. Can I ask what type of fabric you used for your lining with the faux leather? Thank you I hope you do more videos your very good at it.
I'm working on this fabric and just normal lining fabric will do. Any fabric actually! That's light and non stretch, for example, if you have rests of cotton popplin lying around that match the color of your coat, go for it
I'm making mine in a faux yellow color and I bought lining fabric in brown
I really like your designs and your teaching. Wives everywhere are very busy. I am hoping you and your wife will collaborate on a unisex jacket pattern.
Amazing instructions. You should make more videos. Do I have to make any adjustments to make it a unisex pattern.
Depending on how you want it to fit. If you want it oversized not much at all, but if you want it more fitted you may wanna adjust the shoulder, sleeve length, & maybe the length of the trench over all. Let me know what you plan to do.
🙌
I want to make myself a Winter trenchcoat. I wanted to use a thick cotton like khaki and a warm lining maybe layered partly tweed for warmth any tips?
Great sew along Norris! Your voice is very soothing. I am in the process of making a cream color faux leather jacket....actually I made the purchase from Melenated Fabrics. Beautiful fabric! I've been sewing for a long time...but I am afraid of adding buttonholes on my faux leather jacket....I want some type of closures but not sure what yet....maybe snaps...idk... What type of buttonholes did you make? Great job!
I know this is veeeery late on, but leaving this here for anyone that would like to tackle this project later on and have the same doubt
Follow this tutorial on how to do bound leather buttonholes and they will end up looking just like the ones on this video ruclips.net/video/N87ujM1qDgg/видео.html
I see you use Brother/Babylock equipment, me too. What is item number for sewing foot? What type needle for this project. I'm enjoying SewIt Academy
I'm trying to buy this instructions books you're showing in these videos, where can I get them brotha?
Please, do you have this model online? I am from Brazil, so I can print by myself here. Thanks
Where did you get yout faux leather from? I bought some from Joann's and it was unuseable.
What type of sewing machine do you use here?
Donde compro el
Patrón ??
He is fine
What type and size needle did you used
I used a top stitch needle for this project and it didn’t give me any problems at all.
