  • Dental Assisting: Assist with Anesthetic Delivery
    We are excited to bring to you our brand new suite of Dental Assisting education modules with web-based skills simulations. A first for dental education!
    This video is a tiny sneak peek into our Dental Assisting: Assist with Anesthetic Delivery module. But wait there's more! - each module doesn't only have a video, but also has a simulation where you can learn and practice the procedure interactively, step by step, then test your skills. On top of that you'll get an illustrated text description of the skill or procedure to read, a 3D model of relevant anatomy or equipment to explore, and a multi-choice quiz. All activity and scores are tracked in the logbook, so you can see your progress over time.
    You can find more information about all our DA modules here: www.simtics.com/shop/dental-a...

    For any oral surgery do the dental assistant do vital signs??

    • @SIMTICS
      @SIMTICS  4 года назад +3

      Hi. This will depend on the dental practice, but yes, they or the dentist would usually obtain and document pre-operative and post-operative vital signs for the patient.

      Root Canal does hurt. They are going way down in the gum and yes, it will be very sore. So someone telling you it don't hurt, is flat out crazy lying. Yes its numb while getting it done, but after Novocain wears off, it DOES hurt for a while

      @@Marla.22 ok I have to get a root canal next week and now I’m terrified lol. I heard that it will be sore but I’m not sure how sore. I’ve dealt with soreness after fillings before and found that taking ibuprofen right when the anesthesia begins to wear off definitely helps, but is the pain after a root canal something that ibuprofen will fix?

    3-5 minutes? I learned something more like 20 seconds 😰

    • @SIMTICS
      @SIMTICS  4 года назад +2

      Hi Tara. With a topical anesthetic the patient will feel a surface effect within about 20 seconds, but you'll need to leave the solution on for longer than that before it produces an adequate depth and intensity of numbness to ensure the patient will be comfortable during the procedure. We recommend that you check the instructions on the particular product that you use in your dental practice.
