this is the track that convinced me that you can still have good slayer even without dave lombardos incredile drumming. you cant replace dave but paul is still doing a damn good job even with his own drum parts
No even the U.S. tour from 96 didn't sound that exciting in terms of drumming Axis T6...but the videos I saw from Australia in recent years were better.... and better than the last Lombardo years for sure
@@snakepitguy Paul was good during Divine, Diabolous & GHUA. Since they brought him back in 2015 he is definitely not the same drummer he once was. His abilities have seriously eroded and he struggles to get through songs he could get through with ease previously. Paul USED to be the best replacement for Dave but he hasn't been in a long time.
@@KingDevilCharger it's true, but he gets better in some of his old weak points. In Repentless he is much more natural in all the fills. Almost a Lombardo feel in some of his fills in Cast the First Stone. Sadly his double bass playing deteriorated so much in the last few years and he is not so absurdly tight as he was until 2001. Everyone comes to this point one day. It's call "getting old". Saw Slayer live 8 times here in Brazil. 5 with Lombardo and 3 with Paul. My favorite band since 1990. Until this point Metallica was my favorite with Slayer a close second.
I love Paul Bostaph..love his contribution to Slayer on albums he's featured on...BUT in all fairness hos footwork can be a little sloppy. But I still prefer his style and drum parts he came up with more than Lombardo
Paul has amazing hands...his fills are great. He's more technically gifted than Lombardo hand-wise, but he doesn't have the raw chaotic punk feel of Lombardo...and of course, Lombardo's double bass is near-flawless.
keefriff99 More technically gifted than Lombardo hand wise??!! You need to watch more of Lombardo, that's a ridiculous statement. Lombardo smokes Paul in every aspect of drumming hands down, no comparison.
@@hadesmetal6346 Agreed! Paul lost a lot of his ability. He's definitely not on the level he was when he recorded "Divine Intervention". Not sure why Slayer brought him back.
God I love that drum kit
Me too
Go buy it
Tama is better
There is some John Bonham feel in this, I cannot explain well, but there is. I think the groove
Technically speaking without being a pro drummer I think this guy has two brains , one of them controls his feet the other his arms . A beast .
Paul's just as good.

Devine intervención Salyerrrrrrrreeeeeerrrrrrrrrrr !!!!
Fucking badass🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
But it isn't Disciple studio version. What version is it?
Bostaph 😎
Paul plays to a click?
number 1
Beasty Paul ! 03:06
Singing along. Messed up in the middle but Paul's timing helped me get back in synch.
Paul is the shit, but sounds like the track was slowed down a few BPM.
🤘👏🤘👏🤘👏
I would've stopped by
And the John guy
Best drummer SLAYER could ever get to replace Lombardo.
I've seen them with dette in 96 ..and in all honesty it sounded very sloppy.... not the speed you"d expect from SLAYER ...

for sure

@@KingDevilCharger Yeah I would to agree with you on this

MrAlienautopsy this is missing some chops, check out Eric Moore who used to be in Suicidal Tendencies ruclips.net/video/zfBirrmLArc/видео.html

Lazy dbl kicks...
I agree. In my opinion he is not great..

Lombardo has a more passion when he is drumming.
Lombardi.
How do you measure passion?
@@rodthom86 becouse i am drummer
I love both for different reasons.
