Alex Skolnick, Gary Holt, Tom Araya, and I met onstage before SLAYER's sound check and busted out with an impromptu version of Freebird. I had a killer time jamming with these guys.
I love this. Just 4 dudes jamming to some shit we grew up on.
Best version of Freebird I've ever heard.

Truly awesome to get some behind the scenes action... Would definitely love to see more jamming and backstage antics.

@@MaxCustom Paul’s a great drummer, with power for days and a relentless, killer of a rim-shot. My favourite SLAYER drum tracks are his works, which are more technical than Dave’s.

That was fucking cool, i was watching Paul during the faster part of the song and it looked like he was twirling his drumstick in his rihht hand but you can see his stick hitting the symbol and the 12 inch floor tom. It was cool when Tom walked over to the front of the drum riser just to watch Paul beat them drums. KICKASS!!!!

Paul Bostaph’s drumming chops absolutely fucking slaughter those of Artemis Pyle and this rendition is worlds ahead drum wise, even though Paul treated it simplistically.
Tom's been stuffing down the burgers ever since Jeff passed away. Is there a correlation?

Paul Bostaph is obviously a good drummer, unfortunately he played on all of Slayers worst albums. His drumming style does not fit Slayer's music like Dave Lombardo.
As for these guys playing Skynyrd, that is just cool!
DIVINE INTERVENTION is a phenomenal drumming album, containing the most technical drum tracks of the band’s entire catalogue and not only announced Paul’s arrival with a shout, but also proved that he can more than fill Dave’s shoes.
Then there’s the slow track GEMINI (the only song off ‘Undisputed Attitude’ I like and the only one that isn’t a cover) … beautifully composed by Paul and one of my all-time favourite SLAYER drum tracks, which I still play regularly. I believe the loss of Jeff was the difference in the band because he was such a prolific contributor of their material. Anyway, music is subjective and we all have our own private preferences.
Everything kicked ass...except that song. LOL Freebird... most over played depressing songs on the planet.
I don't mind the song so much, but the solo is one of the most irritatingly one dimensional thing ever created. Most overrated solo in history.
