As with all of your truss designs, this is absolutely exquisite.

I'll be making my first mirror soon, hopefully finish it in a couple of months and I'm loving your designs. I live in an urban area and I don't have a car so I'd love to have a very compact telescope. Thanks for sharing your awesome work, definitely inspirational.

Thanks, and good luck with your build. People making their own mirrors always impress me.

But does it fit in a Brinta box?

Love your designs - do you have any objection to me CADding them up in AutoCAD and Solidworks for other people to build ?

Hello my friend Congratulations, I really liked this project, it's incredible, could you transfer the project to a 114mm F900 telescope, I'm very grateful

very nice! What do you use to paint the plywood?

Thanks! I use satin finish spray paint for the black parts. For the transparent parts I use a clear coat spray paint.

Did you create drawings and a parts list? I’d love to make this myself.

I'm sorry, I don't even have basic hand drawings.... The design is mostly in my head, but it helps making every part "from the inside out". In this case the upper ring assembly first, then the mirror cell, then the box in which these parts have to fit, then the altitude bearings which maximum size are limited to the sides of the transport box. The exact final size is unknown even to me, up until a certain phase in the building process

@@Roelarex no worries! I received 5 star blasters and I’m looking for a fun project to make them a lot better. I run an observatory by the way. Your truss dob build is absolutely beautiful. I’m totally thinking about reverse-engineering it because it’s infinitely better than the original design (except the original has no set-up time 😂). Would be perfect for loaner-scopes! We could store those boxes on shelves instead of the things taking up massive room. Great build!!!

No, no problem at all! Would appreciate mentioning me as the initial designer, but just go ahead. I can't help you with detailed plans or anything though, for most scopes I build get their final shape and sizes "on the go" while I'm building them...

@@Roelarex Thank you ! That was the plan, so that all credit would go to you - there will be many people around the world who love your work, and will enjoy being able to build examples of your designs - often taking second hand 'useless' instruments recycling their optics into useful works of art and astronomy.

@@martinlagrange8821 Hello! Very nice idea. Have you managed to make any drawings yet?

@@NielssBohr Yes, they are coming along. I am working in my old copy of Solidworks, and so at the moment adding spreadsheet-driven assemblies so that you can input mirror dimensions and f/ratio, along with secondary mirror dimensions, and then spit out 2D drawings, part dimensions, and bill of materials (bom) for _any_ size scope. Also a toggle for 2" and 1.25" focusser tube so you can place the mounting screw holes.
